Things to do in Teton Valley:
1. Grand Targhee:
Teton Valley's ski area is known for epic amounts of snow and a wide variety of intermediate terrain. During the summer months you can enjoy a scenic chairlift ride, hiking and biking trails (even a network of downhill trails), and a series of music festivals.
2. River:
The Teton River is a mellow river great place fishing, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding.
3. National Parks:
Teton Valley is located near Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
4. Wildlife:
Teton Valley is the home of mammals including the bald eagle, black bears, cougars, wolverines, and grizzly bears. The region hosts the largest herds of elk in North America and is one of the few remaining areas in the lower 48 states where the grizzly bear still roams in significant numbers, and is home to the largest free-ranging herd of bison in the lower 48 states.
5. Trails:
Whether you hike, mountain bike, nordic ski, snowmobile, or go horseback, the trails around Teton Valley accommodate to all.
6. Golf Courses: It might surprise you that there are 3 golf courses in the valley.
7. The Spud Drive-In: An old fashioned drive-in movie theater in between the towns of Victor and Driggs. This theater is open during the summer months and plays a variety of blockbusters.
8. Live Music: On Thursday nights during the summer Victor lights up with Music on Main. Two large festivals (Targhee Fest and Targhee Bluegrass) span long weekends in July and August at Targhee Resort.
9. Fishing:
Teton Valley is located near the south fork of the Snake River that is a common place to fish wild trout.
Palisades Lake is located near Teton Valley.
10. Hiking and Horseback Riding:
The Grand Teton Mountains provide many hiking and horseback riding opportunities, many taking you into Grand Teton National Park. The Big Hole Mountains provide good hiking to the west, the Snake River Range to the south and on the north side of the valley you can access some of Yellowstone's southwestern corner trails.
11. Skiing:
Grand Targhee offers a place for residents or visitors to ski during the winter months. Located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, the main gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
12. Arts:
Residing in Teton Valley are sculptors, glass blowers, landscape painters, musicians, actors, film makers, wood carvers and furniture makers. Teton valley is the home of the Teton Valley Historical museum.
