My husband and I along with two of our daughters, ages 19 and 11, stayed in this house for 10 days during our first visit to Hawaii. The view was spectacular and couldn't be beat! The yard had a private pool and hot tub. The house was perfect with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We had all the amenities needed during our stay complete with laundry, bbq, dishwasher, large lanai, sat/cable TV and comfy beds. The shed is complete with items you need such as water toys, snorkelling gear, beach chairs, coolers - all for you to use while you are there! We stocked up at Costco and ate most of our breakfasts and lunches at the house while choosing to try a variety of restaurants for supper. Trudy had a bag of coffee beans for us when we arrived and we loved grinding the beans each morning for a delicious coffee! We ran out mid week and purchased more at the plantation to enjoy! We brought several bags home of delicious coffee! I think we will be addicted online purchasers from now on! I wasn't a huge coffee drinker but after this coffee, I am hooked! We rented a Jeep which was perfect for travelling around as the town of Kona is not far as well as other smaller towns which were quaint for shopping and dining. I highly recommend the app from "The Big Island Revealed" as it helped us to choose our food and activities while on the Big Island! We highly recommend the tour to Volcanoes National Park as well as the Manta Ray night snorkelling! Our favorite restaurant was Annie's Burgers! We plan on visiting again and would love to be able to stay in the house again! Thanks to G & B, onsite managers, who were great to answer any questions we had! We had lots of privacy when needed. Can't wait to come back to visit again!! Mahalo to Trudy and Dave!!! ;)
My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time, and the house was great. The views at sunrise and sunset were breathtaking, and the location near town was fantastic. Dave and Trudy were so kind, and we look forward to coming back to stay there some time soon! By the way, their coffee is AWESOME! We love Heavenly Hawaiian Farms coffee. While my wife is not a coffee drinker, she loved the chocolate covered beans. :)
Great place to stay with great owners. I thank them for everything. This place is great for families just as well as for a romantic getaway. I would go back in a heart beat.
I really don't want to write this - selfish - I am concerned that I won't be able to visit again because it will all be booked up. Now for the facts- we are soooooooooooooooo glad we stayed there. It was so much more relaxing than staying in a condo on the beach. Waking up to the gobbles of turkeys....yes, turkeys... my husband and I watching the moon's reflection on an ocean that is half way up our line of vision, coffee that my husband had to go home with, owners that went out of their way to accommodate us, pool that was ours, what peace and relaxation....please everybody...save me a spot for next time.
Our stay was incredible. I will surely be staying here again. The owners were wonderful and the house was even better than I thought it would be. The house had everything you need including beach chairs, coolers, beach mats. The pool and hot tub were incredible and all ours to use. The owners were close by for any questions or needs but never intrusive. The views and sun sets were to die for. It was great coming back to the house where it was cooler. Just far enough from town, yet close to everything!!! Make sure you go to the little general store near the house they are great people and have fantastic cookies!! Thanks Trudy and Dave!!! Our grandson said he wants to come back, thanks for a great stay!! I don't drink coffee but Bob said its great. See you soon I hope!!!
First let me say that the pictures are accurate. One thing the pictures cannot relate to you is the feeling of home. We are very particular and have high standards and this home met and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we opened the door, we saw a wall of glass that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. Breathtaking to say the least! The home is impeccably clean with wonderful floor plan that is open and spacious. The house is very tastefully furnished and all the amenities we have at our home are right here thanks to Trudy’s detailed mind. Dave and Trudy actually lived in this home first before moving to the other house on the property and their high standards are reflected in this renovated rental home. Being 1,500 ft. above sea level provides a wonderful temperate climate as it is always 5 – 8 degrees cooler during the day with a light breeze and lower humidity which was always a welcome relief when coming back home after a day on a hot beach. We did most of our dinners at the house since everything we needed was at our fingertips. The Weber BBQ was great and provided us with some of our best dinners as we sat on the lanai and took in the breathtaking sunsets. The mornings were our favorite time; sitting on the lanai and having our morning coffee (provided by the best Kona Coffee farm on the Island) and enjoying the peaceful view of the ocean, allowing us to have the quite time we were longing for during our stay. The pool you see in the pictures is perfect. There are jets in the pool, so if you prefer a real workout, you can swim against the current. The view from the pool is incredible. We spent many afternoons there enjoying a simple and non-rushed atmosphere, able to totally relax.
Dave and Trudy were wonderful and gave us assistance but always respected our privacy. Dave is an enthusiastic and charismatic man who has invested much time and energy building the Kona coffee farm business. He took time from his busy day managing the coffee farm and gave us a personal guided tour. Dave went through the entire process of the Kona coffee development. He is there to not only give you a perspective but also to teach you the many aspects of coffee farming. His work is reflected by all the awards their farm has received for having the best Kona coffee in cupping contests. Trudy is a warm and kind soul which reflects outward when you meet her. She is a gracious hostess and her love and hard work on the coffee farm are apparent by her personal attention and
