In-floor radiant heating and tile throughout. Additional HVAC includes forced air heat and A/C and the gas fireplace is controllable via a separate thermostat or simple on/off. You are able to pick your favorite method of heating in the winter although very little additional heat is required because the entire building is heated.
Owners Todd and Krista Park grew up in Santa Fe and Los Alamos, NM with family in Durango, CO. Todd spent six years in the Navy working in Nuclear Power prior to the two meeting in Engineering school at the University of New Mexico. They spent six years in the Atlanta, GA area for Krista's job with Motorola.
In 2006 the couple left their 9-to-5 electrical engineering jobs and sold their home, Todd started his own engineering company and Krista began racing mountain bikes professionally. 2011 was spent racing in the USA, Cyprus, South Africa, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, UK, and Canada, successfully landing a spot on the 2012 USA Olympic Long Team.
The fall of 2012 was spent overseeing the design and construction of this loft, to be the couple's dream home when they are not traveling.

Traveling full-time for the last six years has given the couple a taste of many things both European and American. Their favorite wish-list items became must-haves in the design of this loft. These items include a large granite kitchen sink, honed quartz kitchen counters, steam shower, large bubbler bath, plenty of laptop work spaces, and a large comfy couch.
Local Durango craftsmen designed and completed the custom island bar, table top, doors, headboard, aluminum guest bath countertop, and all the tile work. Krista's Dad welded the mirror frames and dinning table legs.
Brand new unit, the high-end interior was completed December 2012.
The 12th block of downtown Durango is an ideal location for both short and long term stays. Extremely quiet unit while right next to everything. We have traveled the world in the last two years and have determined this is the perfect location for us.
In European style we are able to walk to everything, grocery, healthfood, and hardware stores, restaurants, dinners, coffee shops, breweries, bars, yoga studio, massage and spa, rockclimbing gym, CrossFit gym, bicycle shops, auto parts, shopping, Durango Silverton Train, Animas River, and more. Buckley Park is directly across Main Ave, the Animas River Trail (paved path) is accessed across hwy 550 and downtown is the most central location for accessing all of the Durango area hiking and mountain bike trails.
If time allows, Durango is centrally located to many more activities such as exploring Mesa Verde National Park, San Juan Mountains, Vallecito Lake, and more.
Other activities include Trimble Hot Springs, Bar D Wranglers chuckwagon dinners, jeep rentals, summer pro rodeo, zip line and helicopter tours.
