Honolulu Condo Rental Photos and Description

Comfortable, affordable, convenient - Downtown/Honolulu

The property is located at the Executive Centre in Honolulu's Downtown/ Financial District. The Executive Centre is a 41-story, mixed use complex (hotel, residential and commercial property) that is conveniently accessible to public transportation, freeway access, and within walking distance to State, City, and Federal buildings, financial institutions, hospitals (Queens, Straub, Kaiser, Kuakini), Hawaii Pacific University, University of Phoenix, University of Hawaii, and many of Honolulu's historic buildings and attractions in the Downtown area (Iolani Palace, Kamehameha Statue, Chinatown, Aloha Tower, Mission House Museum, Hawaii State Art Museum, State Capital). The unit overlooks Hotel Street and the reserved parking and unit are both located on the 8th floor. Parking and wi-fi are included in the daily rate.

The unit is spacious (525 SF), comfortable, and affordable. There is a queen-size bed and a full-size sofa bed, room for 2-3. Whether you are here for business, leisure, or for family functions, our mission is to meet your travel needs, to save you a little $ when you visit Honolulu, and to offer you an opportunity to stay in the Downtown/Financial/ Historic District -- the Heart of Honolulu.

Enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, and local favorites at the Fort Street farmers market on Tuesdays and Fridays or visit the numerous eateries in the Chinatown/Downtown neighborhood that offer international flavors. The famous Murphy's Bar & Grill is two blocks away (featured on the Food Network Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives). Explore the neighborhood on foot to find eclectic boutiques, cafes, bars, restaurants, bargains and treasures, and hop on the bus or take a drive to nearby neighborhoods -- Ala Moana, Ward Centre, Waikiki, Kailua, Kaimuki, Kahala, North Shore -- anywhere you want to holoholo (get out and go places). Everything you need is within reach so pack your bags and enjoy a little Aloha. E Komo Mai (welcome in).

About George Roberts

Together with my family, we have stayed at Home Away/VRBO properties in SF, Seattle, Portland, and Boston and found this hotel-alternative a fun and interesting way to travel. As a family, we enjoy the local experience and select places to stay where we can experience living in a city versus visiting a city. I am a resident of Hawaii, where I have lived most of my life, and will be here to assist you should you need anything during your stay. My wife is also from Hawaii and is a resource as well. We love Hawaii, our island home.

George Roberts purchased this condo in 2004

Why George Roberts chose Honolulu

The Executive Centre is the only mixed use property (hotel, residence, and commercial) in the Heart of Downtown's Financial and Historic District. Formerly used as an office, a residence, and now a VRBO - made available to share our wonderful island home. Parking is expensive and having a reserved parking space at no extra charge is a plus.

What makes this condo unique

The property is convenient for travelers visiting Oahu for business, extended stays, folks in town for family reunions, weddings, and special events, and travelers that like to stay in less crowded and not so touristy places. The location is easy to get in and out of (easy access to freeways and main surface streets). If you have a car, the reserved stall is located on the same floor as the unit -- and that's a convenience factor that many of the other units are unable to offer. If you chose to get around by bus or taxi, these transportation modes are just few steps away. The unique benefit of this Executive Centre unit is that the daily rate is reasonable and includes a reserved parking space, wi-fi, is more spacious than a hotel room (525 SF with two rooms), reasonable cleaning (out) fees, and 24 hour security. There's a well-equipped kitchenette for light meals, gear for beach/park outings (mat, chairs, towels); for longer stays, laundry service is available (United Laundry) or convenient, coin-operated washers/dryers are located on the 3rd floor.

Honolulu

My wife and I stayed in this hi rise apt. In downtown Honolulu. It was a great location for sightseeing and fit all of our traveling needs. The owners met with us on our arrival and departure and were very informative and hospitable. We recommend this vacation spot to others traveling on Oahu.

Owner's Response: Our VRBO is different -- where as for some, its a vacation home and rented out when vacant -- our VRBO is a place we have opened up to visitors who want to stay in Downtown Honolulu. We live on Oahu and so we take care of our guests and try our best to give helpful tips. Our focus is featuring Downtown Honolulu; however, there's a lot of information available at the Honolulu International Airport too. Whether you are here for the first time, a repeat visitor to the islands, or here to visit friends and family, the location of our VRBO is in the Heart of Honolulu -- a lot of history happened nearby at Iolani Palace, Honolulu Harbor, Chinatown, and more. Come and discover our island home!

The Best Stay in Oahu, Away From Waikiki But Close to Everything + Free Parking!

  • 5 of 5
Words cannot express how happy I am to have found this place for my 7 day stay on Oahu. I have been to Hawaii every year for the last 15 years, and George and Jeanette's place is the cleanest, convenient, and most affordable rental I've stayed in. I'll definitely be back! Being away from the tourists and congestion of Waikiki was a blessing, and just a super quick drive or cab ride when we needed to go there. The free covered parking was awesome, and only steps away from the condo, good especially if you have heavy bags and groceries to unload. The true ALOHA that Jeanette showed us when we met her for check-in was such a great way to start our vacation. There are so many shops, restaurants and bars around this area that you can walk to -- we ate well and had some great nights around the town without having to drive. Check-out with George was also a breeze. Look no further and just book your stay here already...you will not be disappointed. Thanks, George and Jeanette!

Owner's Response: Parking in Downtown Honolulu is expensive and with everyone charging extra these days, free parking = more spending money for you! Catch the bus, take a taxi, drive, walk, run - what ever the mode of transportation, get out and go "holo holo" (go places)! Kipa hou mai! (Come visit again!)

Wonderful condo centrally located!!!

  • 5 of 5
This condo is centrally located in the downtown area and is exactly as it is portrayed in the pictures. The owners are amazing! We have stayed in many VRBO's before, and have never had such caring owners. George met us at the condo, and gave us all needed info. There was homemade banana bread, yogurt, bottled water and papaya waiting for us in the fridge. When we left, Jeannette gave us a little hot/cold bag with homemade cookies for our trip to Maui. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Honolulu. This is much better than a hotel and more reasonably priced.

Owner's Response: We enjoy sharing locally sourced produce (when available), especially those that may go unnoticed such as the Kamiya papaya (available only at select markets) and known to be No Ka Oi (the best). The Tropical Paper Garden Petite Insulated hot-cold bag can be found around the island and the M-F folks use these as lunch totes. The designs are whimsical, locally-inspired, and are always changing --- so when you see the design you like, get it! The petite ones are cheap and it's a fun way to carry your goodies home "island style."

Hawaiian hospitality at its finest

  • 5 of 5
We've been staying at VRBO condos for a number of years, but Jeanette and George stand out as attentive, welcoming and just plain nice people who went out of their way to make sure our stay was everything we had hoped for. The condo is located at the heart of downtown Honolulu, within walking distance of Chinatown, local (not touristy) restaurants and scenes of old Hawaii (not Waikiki). They made us feel immediately at home and made so much information available about the culture and charm of this part of the city. I was born, raised, grew up here and returning to visit friends and family. This was the perfect spot for us, convenient to everything the city has to offer. My husband and I never got tired of looking out those floor-to-ceiling windows from this highrise apartment to a panorama of mountains and cityscape. Staying here gives you a whole different view of Honolulu than you would get staying in Waikiki.

Owner's Response: A nice articulation of our local style hospitality. The Northwest view of Red-Hill, Tripler (pink hospital), green mountains gently dotted by lights of residential neighborhoods, peek-a-boo of Punchbowl Crater, treetops along Union Mall and Hotel Street, combined with the historic and modern buildings of the area, invites guests to share the perspective of our island home, history, preservation, and adaptive change. Guests returning home rediscover, guests visiting for a while discover, and each individual passing through might leave feeling like they experienced a part of Hawaii's history -- e komo mai!

This condo was exactly as pictured! Very convenient for all downtown Honolulu activities. The owners were right there to welcome us. Very nice! Jeanette walked us around to show us where things were located in the building. Parking space was so convenient and private also! Clean place with just enough space! Thank you so much!!

Happy form South Dakota

  • 5 of 5
This property was everything listed and more. We were in the middle of downtown Honolulu. We were with in a few blocks of the historic district and current government buildings. There was a great place to eat every step we took. A new Wal-Mart across the street but we chose Long Drug instead. I cannot say enough about the owners, they wre there right when we arrived. We had a lovely welcome assortment of food, plus many tips for eating and sight seeing. They were so gracious and helpful and easy to contact, not always the case. The condo was very cleanand nice extras. The washer and dryer were great. It was good for two, or maybe a cozy two couple. It there is so much to see and do we were there only to sleep. There is a lovely pool and hot tub on the12th floor,(I think), very quiet and great for lap swimming. Make sure you make reservations ahead for Pearl Harbor, they book a long time out and it would be really disappointing to go that far and not see that part of American history. It was so moving and one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend this property and these owners to do business with. As a P.S. It is just a very short easy run from the airport.

Owner's Response: There's wonder all around -- so much waiting to be discovered. Pearl Harbor's history and a visit to the Arizona Memorial is a must for those coming to Hawaii for the first time. Mahalo to our guests for sharing this tip and for sharing their experience at our VRBO (which included having to leave us a voicemail message when the key was left in the unit; we understand that this must have been quite alarming and thankfully, everything worked out without extended delay). Aloha & Mahalo!
