Our home is a large (3300 sq. feet), fully renovated Victorian single family house located in Brookline, MA - just steps from the Boston border. The master bedroom has a queen size tempurpedic bed and an en-suite master bathroom with a jetted tub. There are two additional bedrooms - each with a queen size bed and a dedicated full bathroom. Additionally we have a queen size air-mattress that can be set up in the 2nd floor office. This is our primary residence so the house comes complete with everything you will need for a comfortable stay including a fully equipped renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, 3 flat screen HD TVs with premium channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.), high speed WIFI, large capacity washer and dryer, linens and towels, outdoor deck and gas grill. 30 night minimum rental. Discounted rates available for stays of 60 nights or more.
Wonderful house! Perfect for a family get together. Beautiful, warm and cozy. Had absolutely everything we needed.
We stayed here for several months and loved every minute of our stay. I'd echo everything the other reviewers have said, and then some. Not only is location perfect (you can walk pretty much everywhere, and the Brookline Village T stop is a five-minute walk), but the house itself is beautiful and stately, while also being very cozy and welcoming. From the minute I walked in, I didn't want to leave. It's everything a house should be -- solid and inviting and warm, with well considered separation of spaces. A third floor bedroom suite served as my office, and my husband had a full office to himself. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we cooked many a marvelous meal. I can't recommend this house, and the lovely, helpful owners, highly enough.
We rented the house with four colleagues because we were attending a conference in Boston. The house was perfect. Conveniently located towards public transportation. Much better than staying in a hotel.
This gorgeous Victorian on a quiet tree-lined street in Brookline was the perfect location for our family reunion. (Family members age 25 - 87 were all equally impressed and pleased.) Plenty of space with room to spread out (the front reading room/library a favorite cozy retreat), a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar open to the family/TV room, and a formal dining room that sat all. With two architects part of our group, we were pleasantly surprised with the sensitive renovation of this 100+ year old stately home including the family room addition/kitchen remodel. The furnishings, fixtures, artwork, etc all worked together to present a top-notch home-away-from-home experience. The photo's on the advert were true to life and did a good job of showing off the house. (Rest assured the rest of the spaces were on a par with the photo's provided.) The beds were comfy, the bathrooms well appointed, and the thoughtful extras provided by the owners made our stay better than most hotels. The house was spotless and ready for our arrival - the owner met us at the arranged time, gave a quick tour, and checked back later to make sure all was well. A propane grill on the outdoor deck even afforded grilled salmon one evening for a change of pace! Even though the driveway allowed parking for 3-cars, the 4-block walk to the "T" made getting in/out of Boston very convenient.
Be advised the house is 3 stories with lots of stairs - good for spreading out and privacy, not so good for anyone finding stairs problematic. There is a powder room however, on the first level, and full bathrooms on the top two...
Convenient nearby merchants (within 6 blocks): Trader Joe's, CVS + wine/liquor mart, bakeries, library, post office, mom/pop eateries, etc.
We also had several runners in our group of 8, so the nearby running paths/routes along the Emerald Necklace were a big favorite. Thanks to owner Jeff for his running info in the "welcome to our home" basket of maps, tour guides, menus, etc. Like I said, these folks aim to please!
We would definitely recommend this home rental to anyone needing a comfortable setting for family time in an exciting urban location. All the comforts of home with the sites of Boston just a quick "T" ride or drive away. We even walked out the front door to the Gardner Museum (don't miss a lunch at Cafe G) and the Museum of Fine Arts, before taking a leisurely stroll back. We may have to repeat this visit again in the future. Thanks, Nancy and Jeff!
My husband and I spent a wonderful month long vacation in this truly special well- maintained home. Everything
was lovely, comfortable,in a great location near
Brookline Village and Longwood Medical
Center which are both within walking distance,
Fenway Stadium as well The Owners are gracious
and very accomodating .The home has everything
you might need for long or short term stays
We will surely return to this home away from home.
We had three older couples stay in this beautiful home and we all were very comfortable with everything about the home and area. It is very clean, has everything you need regarding kitchen and even is stocked with necessary supplies and even coffee, etc. We had breakfast at home then took the T Metro to Boston or other areas every day. It is just a short walk and you can get anywhere without having a car. Restaurants are nearby but usually we had BBQ at home, more relaxing. I would recommend this home for everyone but those who cannot handle upstairs bedrooms.
Brookline is a small town with a very urban feel, surrounded on 3 sides by the city of Boston. Our neighborhood is made up of single and multi-family homes located close to one-another. There are sidewalks and several parks/playgrounds nearby. Our home offers easy access to all Boston attractions as we are conveniently located within walking distance (0.3 miles) to the Brookline Village 'T' stop (Boston's Mass Transit system). We are also walking distance to many local shops and restaurants.
