Of the 5 bedrooms, there are 3 master bedrooms, 2 with gas fireplaces, and all three have large TV screens. There are two additional large bedrooms that share a bath. Two bedrooms have private decks. All have been professionally decorated with Cal-king beds, elegant beddings, rugs and furnishings.
The Brittany is our largest master bedroom featuring over 800 square feet of elegant living space. It features a private deck, indoor jacuzzi for 2, remote control fireplace, a 60' TV with surround sound, Cal-king canopy bed, a sitting area, elegant furniture and bedding, original artwork, and a large bathroom with a beautiful large marble shower which has 7 shower heads.
The Excelsior master bedroom, located on the ground floor, features a beautiful gas fireplace, elegant furnishings and lighting, including a Cal-king lighted bed, large screen TV with surround sound, and has an attached large bathroom with a separate shower and tub.
The Tresor master bedroom, located on the second floor, features a beautiful sculpted wood and marble tall Cal-King bed, elegant furnishings, a sitting area, a walk in closet, a full private bathroom, a large screen TV, and a large private balcony with a spectacular view.
A central full bathroom (with 2 sinks) serves the other 2 large bedrooms which are located in a separated wing of the house.
The Pulaski room features 2 carved wooden 4-poster Pulaski beds (one Cal-king and one Queen), as well as other beautiful marble topped wooden furnishings and original artwork. With its 5 windows you can capture the warmth of the evening sun and enjoy a view of the forest while sitting under the custom wall art in the cozy window seat.
The Lilac room, with its beautiful lilac theme painted above the window seat, is one of our most charming rooms. The 5 windows capture the warmth of the morning sun and offer a beautiful forest view. The iron Cal-king bed lends a vintage feel to the peaceful aura of the room. The classic and unusual furnishings, sitting area and other original art complete the decor.
The Lodge's other amenities include a large kitchen with beautiful cabinets, granite counters, cooking island, double oven, jen-air indoor grill, window view of the forest, and 9 foot high pine ceilings. The kitchen comes well furnished for your use. Adjacent to the kitchen is a formal dining room that seats 12. The large-scale Italian villa furniture, wooden floors and Persian rugs, lend an elegance to your dining experience. Extra seating is available at the kitchen counter for 4 or 5.
The formal living room features large, comfortable, elegant couch and chairs, and a well-lit game table. An armoire, located next to the game table, is loaded with games and puzzles for hours of family fun. A formal wood-burning stove, in it's black granite alcove, is the central focus of the room. The wide angle view from the two sliding glass doors is spectacular. After watching the sun set behind Mt. Baldy, Los Angeles skyscrapers, and Catalina Island, you might see the Disneyland fireworks popping up behind the Anaheim Hills.
The game room features a large pool table, a wet bar with stools, and unique counters hewn from local pine trees. The decor is mountain pine with an antique cash register and lighted vintage beer signs. The view is unique for the house, with windows in three directions. The view from the window seat includes the city lights of Redlands and San Bernardino and from the sliding glass door you can see all the way to Catalina and the Los Angeles skyscrapers. This area can be closed off and converted to a private sleeping area with a queen sleeper couch and easy access to a full bathroom nearby.
The first thing you see when you pull up to the lodge is our water feature. You will enjoy the sound and sight of two lighted waterfalls cascading around opposite sides of a boulder, joining to pass under the bridge leading to the entrance of the lodge. (Sometimes we turn it off in the winter.) The water attracts wild animals and many varieties of birds which can be enjoyed while relaxing and having coffee on the porch. From the porch you can see the forest across the street.
The Lodge has quick access from almost anywhere in Southern California, with drive times of about 1.5 hours or less. Highway 18 provides four lanes up the mountain toward the cutoff 138 for Crestline, and the lodge is only 3 miles from the highway.
The Lodge is about 15 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and the Village Shops which include outlet stores and some great shopping deals. Lake Arrowhead has ice skating, movie theaters, great shopping, kids amusement park, summer concerts, restaurants, and art galleries.
In the winter, skiing is only 19 miles away from the Lodge and in the summer our own Lake Gregory provides a variety of water activities including a great water slide, swimming, fishing, and boating. There are lots of other activities in the local mountains to enjoy like hiking and horseback riding, and a skate park and basketball courts.
All year round the local towns (Crestline/Lake Gregory, Lake Arrowhead, and Blue Jay) offer many unique shopping opportunities with lots of little antique shops to explore.
But if you prefer relaxing on your vacation (what a concept) we have a variety of cozy places to enjoy a good book (we have a few in our 'library') or a good movie (we have a large and growing collection of family-friendly DVDs).
Whatever your inclination, we are sure that you will love every moment of your stay at Sky Forest Lodge.
