Overview

Puerto Morelos Villa Rental Photos and Description

5 Bedroom, 7 Bathroom, Beachfront, Solar Heated Private Pool, Roof Bed

Just a 23 minute drive south from Cancun Airport....Palazzo Paradiso is situated on 1/3 acre, with lush gardens, out-door beach shower, and was designed for comfort, luxury, privacy and security.

Palazzo Paradiso has 5 bedrooms, (4 brand new king size beds, and 2 queen) each with its own top of the line Panasonic high efficiency mini split air conditioning units, and private bathroom. There is a sitting area on the second floor with comfortable seating, also can be a sleep area for children. All bedrooms are very pretty. Four bedrooms have balconies. Three of the bedrooms face the ocean and two face the jungle at the rear of the property. The rooftop terrace has two built in sunbathing beds (or somewhere to sleep out at night) facing the sea. To the west, facing the jungle you'll find a queen size sun lounger in our sun-trap area. Great place to get away and relax. At night, sleep under the stars and listen to the waves.

Palazzo Paradiso is decorated nicely, and is well equipped, so you shouldn't need to bring very much with you. We have 2 bikes, board games, 3 kayaks, lifejackets, walkie talkies, pool equipment, boogie boards, snorkelling gear, Ipod players, Shaw satellite TV, Flat screen TVs, DVD players/ DVDs, and books.

The kitchen is well equipped, with all necessary appliances, including an icemaker, wine fridge, and beer fridge. We also have new silverware and dinner service.

You can keep in touch with broadband internet access (with wi-fi that works up to the first bedroom level). The 60 inch Samsung LED TV is Internet and Skype enabled. We will also leave a couple of cellphones for your use in Mexico. In addition, we have a VOIP phone that allows free calling to the US and Canada.

Each room has mini-split air-conditioning, but it is mostly not needed, because there's nearly always gentle breezes blowing.

We have a solar heated private pool, sun-loungers, sand area for young children to play, out-door beach shower, palapas, and two hammocks. Take a few steps down to a quiet beach.

If you wish, we can organize someone to shop, and cook for you, allowing you to spend more time on the beach. We can even organize tours, fishing trips, snorkeling or scuba diving. Our objective is for you to have a safe, comfortable and relaxing time.

There are tons of things to do in the area. The fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a delight, with lots of inexpensive restaurants and entertainment. We are located about half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, very convenient for activities, including:

Snorkeling and fishing the protected reef in PM

The Little Mexican Cooking School in PM

Crocacoon Zoo in PM

Waterpark in Cancun

Horseback riding

The Cenotes

Xplore, Xcaret, Selvetica and XpuHa adventure parks

A trip to Isla Mujeres is a 'must do' ride the island on a golf cart

Various 'swim with the dolphin' locations

Mayan ruins at Tulum, Coba and Chitzenitza

'Swimming with the Turtles' at Akumal Beach

Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen

A trip on the ferry to Cozumel

Golfing at one of the excellent local courses

.......and many others

This is a great location to take advantage of everything that the Riviera Maya has to offer

About John and Carole Keating

My husband and I were both born in England, but moved to Canada in 1988. We now have 6 grandkids and have (sort of) retired. We love to travel and have been to many places in the world, but still love to spend time down here in Puerto Morelos because it is so relaxing and yet, if we want to reconnect with the world, we can pop into town, or drive into Cancun or Playa Del Carmen and enjoy all the entertainment and shopping.

John and Carole Keating purchased this villa in 2012

Why John and Carole Keating chose Puerto Morelos

We always liked Mexico, and the people here are very friendly. We decided to buy on the ocean in the Mayan Riviera, because there is so much to do here and because we really enjoy going out and exploring what Mexico has to offer. We'd been looking for about a year when, by chance, we ended up in an all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Morelos. We immediately fell in love with this quaint fishing village. I said ''This is the real Mexico. This is where we need to be'. To wander by the locals fishing, to see the kids playing in the town square, to hear the church bells ring every day, to eat great food in inexpensive restaurants, to sip a cappucino on the sidewalk, to pop into the Canadian owned bookstore and to listen to talented musicians at night after walking the beach in the day. What more could you want?

What makes this villa unique

Palazzo Paradiso is situated in the North end of the town, so it is quiet and relaxing. It's at the end of a fairly private beach road and, because we have a velador living on site, and lots of neighbors we have got to know keeping an eye on things, we all feel very, very safe here. This really is a home away from home. It's not available for rent all the time because we're here as often as we can........kicking back, taking it easy, and enjoying life again. Claudia, our Property Manager is a lovely, Mexican lady who speaks very good English. She owns a travel and rental business in the village. When you have settled in, Claudia will stop by to introduce herself. She will be happy to organise things for you, and will resolve any small problems you may have.

Everything we hoped it would be!

  • 5 of 5

Our family visited Palazzo Paradiso in February as a break from the Canadian winter!

It was recommended to us by friends who had stayed previously and raved about how relaxing and comfortable the property was. They were right! The house is spacious with plenty of room for a large family or several couples. The ensuite bathrooms were a good size and modern. The beds were super comfortable with high end linens. It was wonderful to be able to sleep with the sound of the waves every night.

Everywhere was clean and well maintained including the gardens and pool which is cared for by their valedor. The views from the house across the pool and beach to the sea are spectacular and from the very top of the house, the sunset over the mangrove is breathtaking. The beach is just steps from the house so you can relax on the patio, by the pool, on the beach or on one of the verandas if you want peace and quiet. There is enough room that even a large group could have space to spread out. We visited Puerto Morelos several times and found it to be a lovely family oriented Mexican town with great food and lively bars. Travel to Cancun and Playa De Carmen was easy and an evening at the new Cirque de Soleil was a great experience.

We had a wonderful time, so relaxing and enjoyable that we were sad when it was time to leave – we cannot wait for our next visit!

PERFECT COUPLES GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5

Palazzo Paradiso is paradise. The house accommodated five couples easily with plenty of private spaces as well as common areas. All the bedrooms were well appointed and lovely. We were actually pleasantly surprised the house was even better than the descriptions and pictures. The rooftop deck was the perfect place for us to have a dance party at night or relax under the stars. The pool deck is large with plenty of seating. The pool temp was cool...maybe the season we were visiting...but refreshing after a day at the beach. The hammock area was plenty shady for a nap, relaxing with a good book and a drink. Diego prepped the beach area each morning for us. Raking the sand and setting up beach loungers. The seagrass was particularly bad during our visit...but Diego was helpful raking a path to the water. The beach was very private and we loved hanging out laughing and enjoying cocktails, kayaking and floating in the ocean.

We choose not to rent a car...Diego and Claudia arranged transportation for us to/from the airport and around town. It may have been more expensive to take this route, but we loved not having the responsibility of a car and the taxi drivers were very helpful. We visited Puerto Morelos, Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

There is a great dive/snorkel operation just down the street from the house, about a 1/2 mile walk. It is the Dive Lodge at PM...Luis and Isabelle are great...we did a combined snorkel and dive outing. The place is gorgeous and so convenient.

We had Chef Fernando prepare meals for us upon our arrival. The food was delicious! He also did our grocery shopping for us...so we had everything we needed when we arrived...so we could get our vacation started stress free!

We can't say enough about how lovely our week was at the house. It is very comfortable and well stocked. Loved that the beach is just steps away from the backdoor. The garden was beautiful. We checked out a few other places we were considering while looking for a vacation spot and clearly realized we choose wisely...you wont regret booking the place. It is a bit remote, but just a short car ride away to restaurants and shopping.

John and Carole were so great to work with. They are very accommodating...answering questions and giving advice. We almost felt like they were there with us! Gracious hosts!

This place is great for families or couples! We didn't want to leave;)

Family Friendly Home

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our two-week spring break escape! We had 4 adults and 7 kids (ages 2-11) and everyone had their own space. The home was very comfortable, family friendly. Each bedroom had their own bathroom, and the beds, sheets and towels were all comfortable. The kitchen and family area were also very casual and comfortable. The pool was perfect, much bigger than pictured. All the kids swam every day. There are plenty of pool toys and comfortable lounge chairs on the deck. The water temperature was comfortable for everyone. The view from the house and pool were beautiful. Sleeping each night with the windows open and hearing the ocean is something we miss!

When we were there we had a lot of sea grass on the beach. I am not sure if this was due to the time frame we were there, but it was a little disappointing that we didn't have the beach we had imagined. We did go ahead and rake a path for the kids to play in the ocean and take the kayaks in, but you had to do it daily. The private beach with the hammocks was beautiful. Great place to read and relax.

The owners and staff at the home were readily available prior to our stay to help us with planning, and also while we were there. We did use the chef that was recommended to us and it was well worth the price. We had two meals and leftovers. It was a nice break from cooking and from driving in to town for dinner.

I would recommend renting a car. The house is close to downtown Puerto Morelos, but not close enough to walk for lunch, dinners or shopping. We did use the bikes on site to ride in for yoga on the beach and lunch a couple of days, but for most people, or larger families, I would say have car for your entire stay.

I cannot say enough good things about John and Carole. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The house was everything we hoped it would be. Deigo and Marcella were also friendly and were there when you needed anything at the house.

We spent our entire stay in Puerto Morelos. It is such a cute town with lots of restaurants and entertainment. A few places we loved ~ John Gray's kitchen, My Little Italy (best pizza, but they did not have liquor license yet), El Merkadito, El Sabor (great breakfast), Coffee and Cream (great breakfast sandwich), Tanino's wine lounge for a drink then over to Al Chimichurri for dinner.

Must go see a Cenote and do the Jungle Massage!

Looking forward to another trip there in the future.

Wonderful family vacation

  • 4 of 5

This house was great! Our group of 13 was comprised of 3 different families who came together for one week during spring break. The children ranged in age from 1.5 months to 14 years. The multiple stairs were a challenge for the young ones, but the private beach/hammock area was great. Not to mention the beautiful pool and private beach area. There was plenty to do for everyone. The house was comfortable (bottled water and air conditioning provided) and the views from the back bedrooms were amazing. We did have an issue with a strange sulphur smell coming from the shower and sinks at one point, but as soon as we contacted the owners about it, Diego was able to take care of it. Diego lives in a separate house on property and he was awesome! He was friendly, helpful, and always seemed to be available when we had a question. We rented a car and were able to do easy day trips to Cancun/Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum. We also drove into Puerto Morelos multiple times for dinner, souvenir shopping, and snorkeling. I would definitely recommend renting this house if you're going to be visiting the Mayan Riviera. The owners were easy to contact for questions and were helpful throughout the entire reservation process.

The perfect place for a week at the Beach!

  • 5 of 5

Palazzo Paradiso was the perfect site for our family’s week on the beach in Mexico. The ten of us (six adults and four children under 10) enjoyed the five spacious bedrooms, each with its own bath, and the large living area with TV, video and WiFi. The glowing pictures on the website accurately describe the beautifully kept building and grounds. Just outside on the patio was an attractive pool with deck chairs, and beyond that a small sandy garden with hammocks, a perfect place for the children to build sand castles in the shade. The beach itself was just a few yards farther away. The friendly and helpful owners provided lots of useful information, both before our visit and with thick notebooks waiting on site, detailing things to do and places to eat in the area. We especially enjoyed the recommendation of an excellent chef, who prepared two meals a day for us twice. When we visited in March, we had beautiful weather and enjoyed seeing impressive sunrises from the roof balcony. We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful vacation home to our family and friends

Three weeks in Paradiso!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent three weeks at Palazzo Paradiso in late November and the first two weeks of December. At one time there were ten family members, three generations ranging in age from 4 to 70 and the house easily accomodated all! At no time were we not pleased, excited and satisfied with, not only the accomodations but, the setting and location. Five bedrooms each with it's own full bathroom, full sized pool and all of this right on the beach! It is impossible to list all of the fun we had and the joy we had in exploring Puerto Morales and the Riviera Maya. At the house we enjoyed the pool multiple times daily - our grandchildren became accustomed to swimming in the morning, afternoon and evening. And, a rarity for this area - the pool was heated!

We used the kayaks to the great joy of all. Playing in the sand at the beach was also a daily pleasure for the children, as was swinging in the hammocks when there was no one else in the family using them. The top floor has three huge sun beds and if you can find the time to get there - they are an amazing way to laze away a few hours while looking out at either the Carribean or the jungle.

The kitchen was a joy and clearly outfitted to suit a large family that would cook.

If the house and it's location were not enough we also enjoyed touring Tulum, Playa Del Carmen and ziplining, swimming in cenotes, getting massages in the jungle and snorkeling and diving the wonderful reef. The restaurants in Puerto Morales are all small, reasonable and quite good - we never had a bad meal or poor service.

Palazzo Paradison is a special place and we hope to return every year.

Lisa the house Manager was a special joy - she was always available for any advice or need. Her knowledge of the house and the area is a huge asset and eased our way into a new, foreign environment.

Diego and Marcella, who maintain the house, and live in the casita in the "backyard" were always there and always willing to take care of our needs.

Advice: you can only get to the house in a rental car. Any other alternative is impractical. So, rent a car at the airport for your entire stay. Also, the roads to the house were in disrepair during our visit, so be prepared for some minor, rough driving. It almost made arriving at the house that much more exciting.

We can't wait to return.

Owner's Response: We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay at Palazzo Paradiso, and all that it has to offer. Roger, after last year's heavy flooding, we are very pleased to let you know that the main road off the highway has now been raised by about a foot, drainage systems installed and, completely re asphalted. We all look forward to your return visit........John and Carole

You can walk the golden sand beaches for miles, with the ocean in front being a protected reef, which is famous for its snorkelling. This is the second largest coral reef in the world, and is only 500 meters away from Palazzo Paradiso. The charming laid-back fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a 12 minute drive away and has lots of inexpensive restaurants and usually live music. Crococun wildlife zoo is at the end of the road and is great for kids (big and small.) We have a quiet beach with palapas and hammocks for you to enjoy. Riviera Maya is full of attractions and things to do including famous Mayan ruins, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Cenotes, swimming with dolphins, zip-lining, underwater rivers, theme parks etc. etc. Cancun and Playa del Carmen are both 30 minutes away.
