Brooke Baxter purchased this house in 2012
Brooke Baxter Bailey and Jeff Bailey chose the Grogkill area for the beautiful views, the privacy and the excellent location. Brooke, a native New Yorker, has been vacationing in the Catskills Mountains since she was a baby. It has always been a home away from home. So, last year when looking for that second home, it was no question that the Catskills would be her first and only choice.
Great stay for groups of friends, family vacation or a romantic getaway for couples.
We had a wonderful weekend in the Catskills and the house was perfect for what we needed. We were two couple with young children and found the accommodations to be just ideal - inside and out. The kitchen and living area were well-appointed, family-friendly, and wonderfully arranged for cooking, eating, and socializing. The big balcony meant the kids could be outdoors and supervised while the adults kept an eye out from the sofa! The bedrooms and bathrooms were all lovely and tastefully decorated. Most importantly, Dell was responsive and kind in all communications. Highly recommend this property!
House was in very good condition, was nearby to Woodstock and yet far away from crowds, easily slept 8. Easy to use as a launching pad for hiking, fishing, etc. nearby. Would definitely rent again.
Grand Mountain View is located in Willow, a hamlet of Woodstock, where tranquility is a way of life. A peaceful, country drive on Rt. 212 leads you to this secluded mountain retreat. Centrally located, the house is just a 15 minute drive from Woodstock town center, and less than 10 minute from the adorable village of Phoenicia.
We are proud to be part of the Grogkill community where we share a spectacular waterfall, and when weather permits, a communal swimming pond with a picnic area. Mt. Tremper, the home of the Zen Mountain Monastery, is only five minutes from the house and the monastery offers scheduled activities throughout the year.
Grand Mountain View offers breathtaking views of the Catskill Forest Preserve and seclusion for guests interested in lazy, peaceful days away from the world or for the ambitious, a variety of hiking trails and natural attractions, many within walking distance of this wonderful home.
The fantastic Emerson Spa is a 5 minute drive from the house and hosts a variety of yoga and exercise classes and terrific spa treatment packages. Woodstock, the most famous small town in America, is 15 minutes from the home and offers fine dining at 4 and 5 star restaurants, live music at Bearsville Theater and Midnight Rambles at the famous Levon Helms’ Studio.
And don't forget to explore the Catskill Park, more than 750,000 acres of hiking and biking with 350 miles of beautiful trails and paths.
