Stunning Oceanview, 2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath One Of A Kind Getaway! (sleeps 4)

Perched in a hillside jungle, 300 feet above the gleaming Pacific Ocean is Villa Temenos. A private retreat designed to accommodate up to 4 guests total, 2 guests each in their own private “Palapa”. Surround yourselves in modern tropical luxury while experiencing the beauty and adventure of Costa Rica.

The compound consists of 2 tropical modern style thatched roof Palapas with Balinese flare. Each Thatched roof palapa is designed to accommodate 2 in a luxurious bedroom and bath opening to ocean views and nature on all sides. The woods have been hand selected down to picking the trees to bring in rich native woods while

keeping clean, contemporary lines. Cool Columbian limestone floor tiles and Sandstone carvings brought in from Bali add elegant but tropical accents to each palapa.

The upper palapa is two stories with an open living room on the first floor and bedroom on the second. Also here are is powder room and full size laundry. A wall of rich wood louvers doors slide away to provide you with a small kitchen comprised of a refrigerator, two burner stove microwave and sink. It's a casual setting to prepare breakfast and lunch or evening cocktails before heading out to one of our local eateries for dinner.

Leading out from the outdoor living area is a spectacular 40’ infinity swimming pool with 8’ waterfall. The pool provides several different areas with-in it to swim or relax on one of the benches or shallow lounge areas. Multiple terraces provide different areas to sun and dine all while overlooking the beautiful ocean below and jungle above. Step through the pool across a sandstone walkway to the Indonesian Pavilion or 'Bale'. A perfect place to read, relax or meditate...and that’s just what we want you to do!

As the house is perched on a hill, there is a series of stairs and bridges to lead you up to the main living and pool area, 50 steps in all. Along the way you get views of the magnificent gardens, full of tropical plants, as well as the great oceans views. One of the first focal points you see is the base of the bale adorned in river rock with a beautiful sandstone carving of Heliconias and Plumerias brought from Bali. Then, placed in the middle of the

garden, you enter through a set of antique Indonesian doors which gives you the first real views of the palapas.

Once up at the house you can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. It's not unheard of to see migrating whales, dolphins, and the birds and butterflies are amazing! Toucans pass through routinely. If it’s not the birds chattering you hear, it's the ocean waves providing a constant concert of sounds.

Located in the South Central Pacific region of Costa Rice this home is easily accessible from San Jose via a 3 hour drive and ½ hour from the regional airport just outside of Manual Antonia/Quepos. A 2 kilometer drive south of the small surfing town of Dominical. An important feature of the home is its premier location. Unlike many vacation homes in this area this home is conveniently located a short drive to stores, restaurants and services. You do not have to drive up or down long, high mountain roads to get to the main highway.

The area is rich with activities from zip-lining, river rafting, snorkeling, fishing and horseback riding just to name a few! It is also a great place to escape to and just watch the incredible bird and wildlife or walk the beach below.

We fell in love with Costa Rica the first trip there and bought this brought right then. This has been our 'dream' to create Villa Temenos. From the first moments standing on the raw land we started creating the vision that is now the reality of our home. We have more visions to come, but glad to start sharing Villa Temenos with others

This Villa Should Be On A Magine Cover !

Very beautiful design, layout, furnishings, lighting and VIEWS,VIEWS,VIEWS !!! All you hear are the birds singing and the waves from the Pacific crashing can't get much better than that.

We loved watching the Toucans feed they are absolutely beautiful and even saw some type of parrot on the property, plus 2 pretty large iguana's would sun themselves daily in one of the trees facing the ocean. We got to see an Ant Eater cross the road one day.

You only need to bring a swimming suit, a good pair of sandals, sun glasses, very lite clothing and nothing fancy because you will look out of place for sure. We way over packed ! Can't believe we were not bothered by bugs morning or night, just put some kind of repellant on.

Manuel Antonio state park is close by and has very beautiful beaches and touring we did get to see monkeys swinging up in the trees. We would also recommend riding the Quads, 4 wheelers with Carl on his tour up in the mountains, very scenic and you get to see the waterfalls.

I would definitely recommend staying here at Villa Temenos and believe it is probably the best thing going here in Dominical property wise. Total beauty and R & R for sure.

Villa Temenos was exceptional. The layout of the property with the palapas, open air kitchen, numerous seating areas, incredible pool, exquisite landscaping and in general the attention to detail went beyond our expectations. We can't say enough about the beauty of the design - inside and out! The grounds were well maintained too, with Henry keeping busy most mornings. Dominical itself was so much fun but returning each day to this amazing accommodation was one of the highlights of our holiday.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

My Dream Vacation Came True

We have rented many different houses over the years and we are hardly surprised with the properties we come across in different settings. We wanted to spend a special birthday week in Costa Rica and we were not familiar with Dominical area. We had many activities in mind , like surfing, zip lining, yoga, fishing etc, but as soon as we entered into this paradise the first time, we did not want to leave anymore Villa Tenemos was by far the best place we have ever stayed surpassing some of the famous resorts around the world. The size of the property is just perfect for a couple or two couples vacationing together. The views especially at sunset are breath taking. Open kitchen and living area sets a perfect balance with the wildlife around. Each morning I found myself getting up earlier than the day before trying to catch as many birds as I can. I was rewarded by a special goodbye from the Toucans on a rainy day. The house is well equipped and every item is carefully selected for the comfort of the guests.
I cannot thank Dean enough for sharing this true gem with us.
We would like to come back at least once a year.

Villa Temenos - Incredible!

Villa Temenos exceeded our expectations!
The architectural details of this villa are very impressive. The well appointed villa is nestled into the hillside, surrounded by a lush, mature, well-maintained landscape, as though it had been in place for years. The owners were extremely helpful and thanks to Henry, the Keeper of the Villa, the property is immaculate. The views of the Pacific Ocean are amazing from the many terraces. There are many stunning beaches in close proximity. While we enjoyed surfing, paddle boarding, zip lining, kayaking and hiking, we were always eager to return to the serenity of Villa Temenos, to enjoy the vistas, infinity pool and to listen to the calming sound of the waves.
Two weeks was not long enough!

Beyond Paradise

My husband and I are so delighted to be the first reviewers of this amazing property. Villa Temenos is more beautiful and well-appointed than the photos. The owners are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Every exquisite detail to make your stay worry free and comfortable has been lovingly attended. We only arrived last night and I hope we get a chance to update this review at the end of the trip with more thoughts and reflections. But as I sit here and watch the sun rise over the Pacific, I'm not sure that life could actually get better than it is right now. Even the swimming pool is exactly the right temperature. I felt like a goddess emerging from its LED lit depths last night with Venus bright overhead, but that may just have been the Don Julio Reposado.

We feel as though we have moved beyond paradise and now live in a confection of perfection.There are many things to do outside these walls, but now we are here we just want to soak up every single second of this truly unique and amazing Villa. Temenos is the embodiment of the word "retreat."

My husband and I agreed that we need to come here for at least one week every year. I've already sent out an e-mail to our best friends asking them to look at their calendar for next year. This really is a "couples" place or for a "family" with an adult(ish) older teen who can sleep in his/her own unconnected space and will honor the beautiful art, dish ware, etc. If you love to listen to great music while floating in your own private infinity pool, padding about bare foot on stone floors that were clearly picked to make your feet happy or if you need to decompress so you can hear yourself think, this is no better place.

My husband and I have an expression "power lounging" which requires us to lounge in at least three different places in one day and "extreme power lounging" when you lounge somewhere besides your own "home." Well, Villa Temenos is the Ultra Power Lounge. Well gotta run. I have an appointment in the Bale to finish my book!
