3 bedroom traditional lakeland cottage just 3 miles from Bowness on Windermere

This delightful and traditional double fronted Lakeland cottage occupies a wonderful tranquil setting, enjoying superb views from every window over beautiful open countryside, providing the perfect 'getaway' for couples and families at any time of the year and only a 5 minute stroll to the pub!

Entrance hall with flagged floor and oak beams, with latch doors leading into; spacious lounge with beautiful views, window seat, feature stove, sumptuous sofas and a family dining table. Snug with leather sofas and cosy wood burner. Brand new kitchen and bathrooms fitted December 2011. Upstairs are three generously proportioned bedrooms, one being a family room with double and bunk beds. Large recently refurbished family bathroom. En-suite facility to master bedroom. The well stocked garden provides a wonderful setting for lazy days at the cottage with furniture for meals 'alfresco'. When you return from a hard day on the fells this cottage offers everything you might expect in 'true Lake District

A cottage you will never want to leave

Just returned home from staying at this amazing cottage.The pictures really are true to life and the cottage is spacious, warm ,inviting, and very well set out. The kitchen is perfect with the belfast sink and every utensil you could wish for.Wish I had such a view to wash up from every day.
The bathroom is so spacious and light and the roll top bath is a dream. Such piping hot water too. My children ( aged 5 and 10), loved the family room and my youngest cried when he had to leave.
The whole cottage was clean and immaculate upon arrival.
Crook is a lovely village, plenty of views to take in when walking the dog, and the Sun Inn pub is delightful.
I would really recommend a visit to Skelwith Bridge and lunch at Chesters,Perfect!
The Hawkshead Brewery at Stavely is also another gem of a find.
The lake District truly is a magical place and we were all sorry to leave.
Our favourite place to visit was Rydal water near Grasmere. An easy walk with children,Stunning views and two amazing caves to explore.
I have not stopped talking about this amazing cottage to all my friends and family.
Thank you for a memorable visit.

If you want peace and quite very good accommodation with all your requirements then this it ,spacious great comfort and lovely front garden to relax in after a hard days walking ,weather permitting .Stayed in quite a few cottages and this is one of the best in the area of the south lakes .

A great base for a family holiday.

We have just returned from the lake District and were truly sorry to leave this beautifully situated cottage with its tranquil location. The property was clean on arrival and fully equipped along with instruction booklets. All the bedrooms were spacious and light with lovely views, and complete sets of linen including towels which is a bonus if you are in charge of washing!
Outside the garden was south facing , a real bonus, and every day was started with tea in the fresh air and ended with a relaxing drink of one sort or another. A great place to relax.
There are numerous walks and places to visit within a short distance , we particularly enjoyed walking along the river at Elterwater and up to the top of Dungeon Ghyll.
We ate at The Sun in Crook which is a five minute stroll away and were delighted with the excellent meals and reasonable prices- not a an overcooked vegetable to be seen.
I would definitely recommend this property to people who enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, walking , fresh air and outdoor activities.

The best kept secret in the lakes!

This wonderful cosy cottage is nestled amidst open countryside in the beautiful village of Crook. It is very well situated to explore the lake district, but only if you feel the need to leave the delightful area that surrounds it! With great walking from the doorstep, stunning views can be obtained without having to walk to far, in fact we only used the car twice once to pick up more provisions and the other to visit Bowness a short drive away, where you can catch a ferry up to Ambleside. There is loads available nearby, three golf courses including the charming Beckside which is quite amazing and wonderfully cared for by the local farmer. There is also loads of walking both from the doorstep or for the more adventurous a short drive away and watersports, including chartering a yacht for a day!
With crisp sunny mornings, snow on the fells and a cosy log burner to cuddle up in front of in the evening, this cottage is the perfect location. Pleasingly decorated and very well equipped with lovely open views it is a pleasure to wake up in.
A short walk away is the local Inn, the Sun which provides great food and refreshment.
I have visited many places in the Lakes over a period of 20years, but this lovely cottage and the village of Crook is truly one of the best kept secrets! We will be returning hopefully very soon!
