It's spacious and comfortable. Choose your level of activity; have a quiet vacation, sample Gap restaurants or nightclub activity. Relax by the pool or takes 20 steps down to the beach for a different relaxation.
The ability to be in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap activities on the street or just casually observing the action from the North balcony. Alternately, retire to the ocean front patio and be soothed by the incoming waves. Experience a night's sleep massaged by the background Caribbean Sea.
The owner Colin was so easy to deal with from the beginning and made sure everything was set for us . Even though he was off-island at the time, he tracked that our flight was late and made sure we were looked after on arrival.
The apartment itself exceeded our expectations in size, and was very well appointed. Nice to have a full size kitchen with modern high-end appliances including the silent dishwasher. The balcony was 4 times the size of the ones in the neighboring hotel where we have stayed several times before.
Proximity to the convenience store (which has groceries, meats, bread, eggs, dairy, wine, beer liquor, etc) and many restaurants meant no need for a car for us; and it was only a 5 minute cab ride to the supermarket anyway (although we never went there this year). Restaurants we like are Harlequin (next door - we go there every visit), Sharky's (bar across the street), Beach One (used to be Southsea, then Waterside and next door the other way). Sunday lunch at the Southern Palms with the steel pan band is always fun!
The grounds and pool were spotless, and the little private beach was fun - lots of breakers. Just a note to wear surf shoes, as there is a lot of coral reef there - but we came prepared! And for a bigger beach, just walk 2 miinutes down the road to Dover Beach - one of our favourites in the Caribbean.
The view of the ocean and the sound of the surf were stunning - we knew that would be the case as we have stayed elsewhere on the Gap before. Now we have found the place we want to return to year after year!
This was our second trip to Barbados. The first was 24 years ago so things have definitely changed on the island. But it helped to know which parish we wanted to stay in. My husband and I spent 3 weeks at this wonderful condo and incredible complex! It was EXACTLY as pictured in the listing! The owner was very helpful and kind to us during the entire stay and always just a phone call away. Enjoying coffee and breakfast on the balcony each morning was beautiful and each afternoon the beach was visited by sea turtles...so amazing to watch them! The location couldn't have been any better and the restaurants and bars were so convenient! Our young adult children joined us for part of the trip and were impressed with everything as well; we felt at home here. The locals along the Gap were so friendly but not aggressive. We are looking forward to visiting again in the next few years and will definitely want to stay here!
We really enjoyed our stay at Mistle Cove! The owner, Colin was very helpful and accommodating with our requests. The condo is right in the heart of the St. Lawrence Gap which I would recommend for people who want to be in the middle of all the tourist activity. The back of the condo faces the Gap with many restaurants and bars to choose from. We LOVED The Old Jam Inn for their incredible burgers and drinks! Many of the vendors on the streets serve incredible local Bajan food without the big prices of the restaurants...whatever suits your fancy. We ate at many of them and were very impressed.
The front of the condo overlooks the beautiful beach and ocean view! A little bit of the best of both worlds.
This condo is great for couples that are sharing the condo or families as there is a lot of space between bedrooms and there are two bathrooms. Colin keeps his condo very nicely appointed and it's well maintained.
The street noise from the Gap might suit a younger visitor however we had no problems closing the windows and turning on the A/C for nights it was a little louder. This is the heart of one of the most popular tourist areas so it's to be expected.

This is our 3rd visit to Mistle Cove.owners of our rental unit went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation as enjoyable as possible. Loved the private beach. Spent a lot of time reading with the only distraction being the beautiful ocean and calming waves. The rental unit has beach chairs which was definitely appreciated. The location is perfect! Lots of places to dine, as well as a large grocery store within walking distance to allow you to eat in if you desire. Planning on visiting again next year and would highly recommend for a relaxing vacation.
The property is very spacious and upmarket. The master bedroom (with one king size bed) looks directly onto the beach and the sea and has walk in wardrobe and large master bathroom.
The balcony is large and great for breakfast / sun downers.
The lounge is large and nicely furnished (Caribbean style) and has open plan kitchen which is adequately equipped with modern appliances and crockery.
The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds, and faces onto the main St. Lawrence Gap street with all the trendy bars, restaurants etc. This room is not suitable for persons who find it difficult to sleep as some noise can be heard from the street happenings (the apartment is situated in a trendy area). This room has a separate and large bathroom with luxury shower.
The apartment is equipped with WiFi, free telephone calls to USA, Canada and local calls.
The owner, Colin, is extremely friendly and helpful and went out of his was to assist us and ensure that our stay was comfortable. Thank you Collin.
In summary, do not delay in booking this apartment. You would have made a first class choice.
The listing description was perfect and the pictures were very accurate. The property was very clean inside and out. The pool was cleaned daily, the grass was kept manicured; everything was neat and clean. The condo was great! Lots of room, with a great view of the beautiful sea. The bedroom facing the sea lulled us to sleep with sounds of waves. The back bedroom kept my teenage daughter entertained with sounds of St. Lawrence Gap nightlife. It was great to have an internet phone where my friend could call her husband back in the US without charges, and the wifi kept me satisfied in keeping up with my email. Our owner was gracious enough to meet us late at night when our flight came in after 10pm and our rental car driver had left the lights on in our car, causing a dead battery.
The owner answered all of my questions when I emailed him several times, and offered to have snacks and drinks available for us upon arrival, since we were coming in so late. It was very thoughtful. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends. We felt completely safe with the gated property, and on the street.
We ate at several of the restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap and all of them were very good. If you are from the US, be prepared for sticker shock, because prices are on the high end for EVERYTHING. There's a good variety of food, from fresh fish dishes to hamburgers to nachos, and most places have what they call "macaroni pie", which is like our macaroni and cheese, but a little different somehow.
The people are very friendly, sometimes too friendly when they try to get you to buy their jewelry, dresses, artwork, odds and ends, etc. on the street, but they are also good natured when you decline. There are plenty of taxis or you can rent a car (steering wheel on the right side, drive on the left side) but the roads are narrow.
A must do when there is the weekly fish fry at Oistens, which was only about 15 minutes from the condo. Lots of vendors there, and multiple food establishments offering drink and assortments of fish, lobster, crab, etc. Another fun adventure was the Jolley Roger evening dinner and party boat. Lots of fun, free drinks, dinner, entertainment, dancing.
Mistle Cove is a beachfront 14 unit condo in the heart of the vibrant St. Lawrence Gap. The choice is your, enjoy the Gap's busy nightlife and sample the local cuisine at the several nearby restaurants. Or just retire to the patio for quiet and intimate relaxation to the soothing waters of the Caribbean Sea.
