At the top of the road you can ride the bike path as it winds past the old settlers' cemetery, or walk up the road into Algiers City Park. Four houses down Southwinds is the private beach access to the Gulf of Mexico beaches.
The beach house is freshly painted, and the large, soft turquoise master bedroom has a king bed, and a reading/TV watching area with leather Lazyboy recliner. The Master Bathroom's spa-like shower, in tumbled travetine and turquoise sea-glass is large enough for two. With your safety in mind our shower design includes a bench and grab bar.
The large guest bedroom, in calming blue, has a queen bed and leather Lazboy recliner and reading table beside the TV cabinet.
The living room has soaring cathedral ceilings, and natural wood trim, adjoining a 30 foot screened porch to enjoy your morning coffee, and your evening glass of wine. Six glass doors slide aside to open the living/dining room to the sights and sounds of outdoors.
The cottage kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, fridge and stove, and lots of pull out shelves and cupboard space. The washer and dryer is on the main level between the bedrooms and kitchen for convenience.
The completely screened downstairs includes the brand new pool, several sitting areas to meet your desire to be in the sun or shade. Also downstairs, right beside the pool, is the Gathering Room. This cool room, with a turquoise painted floor, has a man door, and also a garage door that opens the room up completely to the pool. You'll find a fridge, plastic glasses and plates, coffee maker, TV, books and games, and Queen futon couch/bed.
Beside the Gathering room is the newly renovated cottage-like bathroom with white subway tile with blue/green glass tile trim shower, toilet and vanity. Wooden racks hold lots of colorful beach towels for your use.
Bicycles, helmets, beach chairs, and a Weber grill are there for you to use.
The back yard is Conservation land, affording privacy, and the property is beautifully landscaped with Coconut Palms, Banana trees, and flowering shrubs.

Southwinds Drive is one of the few remaining unpaved, picturesque roads, on Sanibel, winding lazily to the beach.
At the top of the street is the Shared-use path, part of a 26 mile paved path system for biking and walking, circumventing the Island including Captiva.

Watch the tide charts to plan your trip to J.N. 'Ding' Darling Wildlife Park. During low tide multitudes of birds will be feeding on the mud flats. Entry is $1 on bikes and $5 for a car load.
Tarpon Bay Explorers will rent you kayaks to follow a numbered trail along the mangroves. Along with seeing lots of birds you might have the opportunity to see dolphins and manatees while in Tarpon Bay.
The Rec Center has state of the art work-out equipment, olympic pool/ water slide / splash pad, tennis courts. They allow daily and weekly fee schedules.
