Our house, is surrounded by beautiful scenery as well as many outdoor adventures! In the winter, when its so gorgeous and blanketed with snow...of course there is skiing! It's is just a 45 minute drive to one of the most popular ski resorts in Arizona, Sunrise Ski Resort. There are many ski and snowboard rentals close to our home, where you can also purchase your lift tickets.
If you wanted a fun adult night out, there is the Hon-Dah Casino down Highway 260 less than 3 miles away, which has a restaurant and bar, live music, a comedy show and special events that go on throughout the year.
Down the highway the other way (also known as White Mountain Blvd.), is the well known, Charley Clarks Steak House, along with one of our families favorites across the street is The Red Devil Italian Restaurant. There are many other places to eat, depending on what you are craving for, or there is Eddies Country Store which is owned by Eddie Basha, where you can pick up some things to cook in our fulling stocked kitchen.
Besides eating, which we do a lot of in the mountains, there are hiking trails, and a whole lot of fishing! We are less than 4 miles away from one of the state lakes, called Woodland Park. This is a great park to go play softball or volleyball or there is a nice playground for the kids, along with a beautiful lake for fishing. Other state lakes close by are Show Low, Fools Hollow and Rainbow Lake. You can go to Game and Fish to pick up your fishing permits for these lakes. Otherwise you could go to a reservation lake, which you get your permits down highway 260 to Hon-Dah Ski & Sport, adjacent to the casino. There are beautiful lakes within 15 to 40 minutes from our house, Hawley, Little Bear, Big Bear, Big Lake, Horseshoe and Reservation Lake...just to name a few.
If you're the golfer, take a left on Buck Springs Road off of Mark Twain...drive three minutes and look to your left, Pinetop Lakes Country Club. The driving range is right on the road and there is also a restaurant on site, that is opened late spring to early fall.
