Beautiful 1400 square foot 2 bedroom in a Spanish-Style fourplex built in 1926 with VIEWS of Hollywood Hills in the CHARMING, HISTORIC, neighborhood of HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS.

Hollywood Living at it's Finest! Just 5 BLOCKS from the Metro and the world-famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre, yet still private and intimate. Why drive when it's a quick walk down to EVERYTHING? Want to go to the Hollywood Bowl? Four blocks. Get on the freeway? Five blocks, yet it is completely unheard and unseen. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!

The master has a queen mattress, lovely views and direct access to the bathroom. the 2nd bedroom is separated by a half wall and drapes (see photos). The 2nd mattress is a custom mattress 1' less wide than a Queen, it appears smaller because of the California King pillows in the photo. There is an inflatable queen mattress available and the couches (though they do not pull out). This property is ideal for two, can easily fit four-six. there is laundry, dishwasher, stove, oven, high speed wifi, AC inside the unit, and it has its own entrance.

Originally built for a silent film star, this building has had a long history of famous tenants, including the Oscar-Winning screenwriter of 'The Sting'!

PLEASE READ: There is NO assigned parking, but available street parking which is not metered or permit only. There are two spots which may be rented from our neighbors if so desired for $10/night per space, paid to them as needed, in their mailbox.

There is a 4-Night Minimum stay unless there's last minute vacancy, and there is a $100 cleaning fee :-) Please see our other listing www.vrbo.com/208878 to see our guest comments and decor sensibilities. it is a HUGE 3+3 in the same building, so if you have a larger group, you may book both to accommodate your party. This property is not appropriate for parties and late night antics, but is wonderful for travelers, tourists and small families.

Great value in this Holllywood Heights home!

Very impressed! Came here for the weekend to stay with some friends, it was perfect. A very cozy house with a whole lot of that old-hollywood-charm! You can tell that the owner puts a lot of pride and character into the home, even his own personality shines through. There are several design styles represented in the house from modern to retro that make it appealing to many tastes. Kevin (the owner) was very accommodating considering it was a last minute booking.

The layout makes the house feel very big. We were there with exactly 6 people (3 couples.) Keep in mind that the second bedroom is separated but with curtains, however there is privacy. It was kept very clean and the surrounding neighborhood felt safe. We actually talked with neighbors and they were great!

There is anything that you would need fore a home away from home, blankets, kitchen items and gadgets, washer dryer, etc.

I would definitely stay here again, considering the price, value, and closeness to everything!

The Hollywood Hills Experience!

What a nice house!! I stayed here for a week last month in this clean, comfortable, quite, private, and very interesting house. What a great and convenient location! Just up the hill from Hollywood which is a pretty quick and very scenic walk if you don't feel like driving(or have a car with you). So it's super easy to explore Hollywood on foot and even hike up in the hills(Runyon Canyon is nearby). You can even walk to the subway from here which can take you to down town, china town, the beach, Disneyland, Universal Studios, etc...

Also, I did lots of my own cooking and found the kitchen very well equipped to make whatever I wanted. It rained one night I was there(a rarity in L.A.) and it was so cozy making dinner while listening to the rain fall. Comfortable beds, large living room, great location, and nice views. Could not have asked for more!!

Good Neighborhood and Wonderful Accommodations

We couldn't be happier with the property. It was just 2 of us and there was more than enough room and could have easily handled another couple. This was better than home for us because everything was fully functional and immaculate. We are in our 50s and had no problem walking to places like Runyon Canyon, Hollywood Bowl, The Hotel Cafe or grabbing the bus at Hollywood and Highland for a quick ride to the Grove. The neighborhood is amazingly quiet considering it's proximity to the hustle and bustle a few blocks away. The Kitchen is well equipped and Gelson's Market is just over a mile away. I couldn't say enough about how wonderful Kevin was to work with from booking through our entire stay he was just a text away. Kevin is all about making sure you're comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here because of location,value and zero problems.

Great spot

This place is in a great location, close to everything going on in Hollywood. Large spacious and the area is super quiet. parking was a little stressful but we were always able to find a spot.

Kevin is also the man ! , was easy to get in contact with and gave us our privacy.

substandard. NOT what I paid for.

AFter making payments since January (on time),

for our extended stay on Memorial Weekend, we were

booted out of the big house(208878) one hour before our

arrival because Kevin gave the rental to

someone else.... because he "double booked"

and because "they" travelled farther.

Kevin "paid" for us to have a parking spot at the

end of the street. But we only got to park there

once (someone else parked there and never left),

so we were offered a parking garage down the street

around the corner. It worked, but what a hassle.

This apartment is substandard at best. Needs

a thorough professional cleaning (why I paid

for cleaning I really have no idea) from top to

bottom, except for the kitchen,... which was in good

condition and clean for the "most" part.(vents

above stove, the view of behind the fridge

from the makeshift bedroom, non-working garbage

disposal) The furniture was outdated, worn, and dirty.

(Could of been some nice retro-style if, again,.. they

were CLEAN and the bottoms wernt coming out of the chairs)

clothes that wernt ours under the bed, no TV in living

room.

BUT,... the bathroom. I wouldnt recommend ANYONE

using it. Shower was gross and had rust stains. shower

curtain had mold on the bottom. There was something wrong

with the ceiling above the toilet,... it was a huge

bubble in the ceiling as if it was gonna burst any minute.

There was no way someone could be in there with that looming

over your head.

And after all is said and done... i wouldnt of even left this

review, but Kevin never responded to any of my emails

regarding this once I left his apartment. I felt pushed

aside and that is not a way I expect to be treated as a

paying guest. Everything above is true, I have pictures,

and I encouraged the owners to contact me but never did

to this date.

Owner's Response: These guests never mentioned ANYTHING during their stay with us, and I certainly didn't force them to stay. She was meant to stay in our other larger more glamorous property and there was an unfortunate mixup where their reservation was noted wrong on the calendar. We offered her her money back OR to stay in this smaller unit, and she chose to stay in the smaller unit. We did not say the other guests had 'traveled further', though they had, but there were a lot more of them to fit in a 3 bedroom, and Ali's reservation had unfortunately always been notated incorrectly for the smaller unit (that was our fault). This smaller unit does not have parking , so in an effort to make their stay easier, we arranged parking with our neighbor (which they used). We have the apartment professionally cleaned constantly, after EVERY stay, so we were not aware of any substandard cleaning, but if something were mentioned our housekeeper would have come immediately to clean further. we always ask guests to let us know that everything is ok upon their arrival, so that if something IS amiss, we may resolve it instantly...more linens, cleaning, more toilet paper... whatever the request. There WAS an issue in the bathroom ceiling, but because they never mentioned anything, we didn't discover it until they left! If she had brought up any of this while she was actually a guest on the property, we would have addressed it. I had a difficult time taking them completely seriously when they commented on the levi's/andre the giant collaboration art posters hanging in the entry as 'devil-type art' (the street artist in LA who uses the logo OBEY). She put this 'review' up because we didn't address her request for a complete refund AFTER staying the entire visit in the property. We don't think its appropriate for her to complete her stay without a single complaint and then suddenly want all their money back. This smaller unit is not as glamorous as the larger one which she had expected, but neither is it as pricey(we instantly refunded them the difference in price), either way it is an extraordinary deal in the center of hollywood and we did our best to resolve a difficult situation which has only happened this one time.

Where do I start, my family and I spent part of our summer vacation here. The house was wonderful, Kevin was an angel for accommodating us especially since it was last minute as we were driving into LA. I have never slept with the windows open but this home sleeping with the windows open was so peaceful and the view from all areas of the home were great. The kitchen is fully stocked with every dish, pan, pot, utensil that you can think of. We only had to buy toilet tissue and paper towels. Reading earlier reviews parking was great for us each night we could park in the street by the home. The location is perfect we walked from the home to Hollywood boulevard in less than 10 minutes. Six flags about 30 minutes, Universal Studios around the corner, Hollywood Bowl is right above the home. We will defiantly stay here on our future trips to LA. Thanks Kevin!
