We stayed in Balham to be close to family. This place is ideally located near the tube, buses, shops and restaurants and a great pub.



Streets surrounding a nice for a walk and it is close to the common with tennis courts and kids play areas.



The flat itself has a really comfortable feel, comfy beds and lounges, well decorated.



The kitchen has everything you need. Wifi was included which was great.



If we return to London we will stay here.

A REAL ENGLISH GEM

We've traveled a lot and between my wife and I have been to more than 43 countries. We often stay in holiday homes and although most of the time are good it can be a bit of a gamble. As repeat guests we returned to Byrne Garden for the 4th time as the consistency and quality is a given as this apartment is professionally managed by Julie and her staff. It feels like home and with the Tube and shops virtually outside your door everything is very handy for either a short visit or a long one. Be sure to stop in to Lavish Habit for a coffee on your way to the Tube - the best coffee in Balham.

EXCELLENT STAY AT LONDON HOLIDAY RENTALS

We were again In April/May 2012 for the 5th time in Balham. We like to stay still in one of the houses of Julie Madison/London Holiday Rentals. We are there in April/ May this year with our family (4 persons). We come from Holland and Park the car right in front of the door for £ 5 per day. Everything you ask Julie has settled upon arrival. The price and what you sure recovers is very well aligned. The kitchen is equipped with all comforts and you can cook your food but also in the direct surroundings you can enjoy eating out. in the evening you can still equally relaxing in the living room and then it's like you're at home. Plumbing and sleeping quarters are excellent. If I must give this House a digit that is a 9. We definitely come back next year. Julie thanks for everything.

We spend a very nice time in your apartment. We appreciated the calm and we directly felt very comfortable. The owners were very available for us and at the same time were not inquisitive.

Northern Line with regular service every 2 minutes to central London from approximately 06:14 until 00:52.

Access to London's South East is very easy thanks to service by Southern Train Lines. Southern Trains offers frequent service to Victoria, Clapham Junction, Gatwick and Croydon.

Although parking is available a car is not necessary.

What Balham Offers:

Balham, with its higher than average population of residents who work in London in managerial and professional roles, is a safe suburban area with a relaxed neighbourhood feel. Close to central London, yet without that 'city rush', Balham seems to have a comfortable pace that is refreshing after a long day of sightseeing.

Peter Sellers immortalised Balham many years ago when he performed 'Balham, Gateway to the South', a comedy sketch parodying a short travel documentary about the suburb.

Just outside the apartment begin all of the bars, restaurants and shops of Balham's trendy town centre. Balham has a mixture of high street names such as Pizza Express and Starbucks along with independent names such as Harrison's Restaurant, a modern British brasserie with celebrity TV chef Rick Stein as an investment partner.

There is a large Sainsburys supermarket, the up scale Waitrose supermarket, independent organic food shops and Hildreth Street Market. A street market since the turn of the century, pedestrianised Hildreth Street comprises a small regular group of stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and also offers special stalls in the Balham Farmers Market held on many Saturdays throughout the year.

The Bedford Pub, which is THE central community hub of Balham with its popular live music and Banana Cabaret stand-up comedy club is conveniently right next door to the apartment!

But if you feel like venturing past next door, Balham offers a very wide choice of venues for food and drink. Included amongst these are 'The Lounge', a Spanish tapas bar & restaurant that is across the street, 'Tagine', an authentic Morrocan restaurant, 'The Paddyfield' Vietnamese/Thai restaurant and the 'Cattle Grid' steakhouse.
