Gather in this large home on the Hamakua Coast, just north of Hilo. With 5 acres, sweeping ocean views and a beautifully appointed house with your own Tiki bar, you will feel the Aloha Spirit of Hawaii! For larger groups, also rent the Ola Kai Cottage.

OLA KAI VIEWS is the perfect gathering place for family and friends travelling to East Hawaii. Located just North of Hilo on the stunning Hamakua Coast in the tiny village of Wailea, you will embrace the rural privacy while being in a great location for exploring both the east and west sides of the island. Within an hour's drive in either direction there are surf and swimming spots, botanical gardens, zip line adventures, the power of flowing lava at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, magical driving tours, Hilo farmer's market and so much more! Hike to close by Kolekole park and dip in the water, or for less adventourouse guests, it is about a 5 minute drive.

WITH OVER 2,000 SQUARE FEET INSIDE AND ANOTHER 1,000 SQUARE FEET OF LANAIS, you and your guests will have lots of room to spread out, both inside and out. Almost every room in the house has expansive views. There are two private, master suites each with a Cal-King bed and ensuite bathroom. The Orchid suite bathroom has an extra large walk-in shower and walk-in closet while the Plumeria Suite has a shower over a bathtub. The third bedroom has two twin beds and a fresh, turquoise ocean decor.

THE TIKI BAR is a fun representation of the surfing culture of Hawaii. Enjoy your evening Mai Tais on this open air lanai outfitted with a bar, gas grill, lounge area and surf and tiki decor. All of this and sweeping ocean views too! The lawns at Ola Kai also offer a great place for playing frisbee, soccer, croquet, bocce ball and other games. The owners have provided these fun games for you!

FOR YOUR COOKING PLEASURE the kitchen at Ola Kai Views is fully stocked and open to the inside dining room so that you can prepare meals while you socialize. Cleanup is a snap with the dishwasher and washing machine and dryer, all provided for your use.

THE MEDIA ROOM has a flat screen TV and DVD player and a few DVDs for your entertainment. The owners have also provided DISH satellite TV and free high speed internet. Our house book will give you lots of entertainment options away from the house as well.

Rates start at $135-$250 per night with a $175-$225 cleaning fee and one time $35 damage waiver fee.Check out our webpage!

We loved staying at Ola Kai Views. The house was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and in the perfect location. The property and orchard were quiet and a joy to explore. We loved listening to the frogs at night and the birds in the morning. We brought three young children with us, and the house was perfect for them: did not need to child proof it, plenty of room for them to play inside and out, double beds in one room, and a great entertainment room.

Our first thought upon entering this gorgeous house was “WOW, this place should be in a magazine!” Whoever did the decorating here has an amazing eye. The furniture and decor are very classy, the use of colors wonderful, very nice Hawaiian flavor without being overly kitschy. We LOVED hanging out at the Tiki Bar and spent quite a bit of our time there sipping mai tais while gazing out at the expansive green and blue views. The house is incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with new, high quality cookware and utensils that made preparing meals a joy. The appliances are all brand new and top of the line. I’m not usually a big fan of carpets in Hawaii, but they TOTALLY work at this house – so soft and cozy. The TV room is a great set up – we brought along our Xbox and really enjoyed playing games on the humongous TV once it got too dark to enjoy the sweet view. There are many fruit trees (oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, avocados) all bursting with produce which we enjoyed tremendously. The yard is huge and the location is so peaceful and serene, with every shade of green imaginable against a backdrop of deep blue ocean and bright blue sky. The property gives a wonderful sense of seclusion, yet the cute little town of Honomu is just a few minutes’ drive, which was nice because we forgot to bring breakfast fixin’s – just a few minutes in the car and we were enjoying fresh baked bacon, egg and cheese croissants at a nice little café. If I could have one wish, it would be to move on in to Ola Kai Views and stay there forever. But since that’s not possible, we’ll definitely be back soon!! Thanks so much for a great weekend getaway :)
