Fully equipped houseboat with two bedrooms, plenty of daylight and terrace

The houseboat has a 5 x 5 m. deck streets-side, and a 9 x 3 m. deck on the water, a roof-top terrace is coming up. You can therefore choose for sun or shadow all day long. The houseboat dimensions are 16,5 x 4,5 m. There is one large bedroom with two beds, and one smaller bedroom with two beds. Two children’s beds can also be added to the large bedroom. There is a bathroom with a shower and sink and a room for the toilet. The boat has been designed to allow plenty of daylight to filter into every room. The living room and kitchen are combined. There is plenty of daylight. The large bedroom and the living room each have television with 32 channels. The living room is also equipped with a full stereo (radio, DVD, CD).

The boat is not shared with anyone else so that your privacy is assured.

Cooking is possible in the spacious kitchen.

The houseboat has central heating.

Bedding and towels are included in the rental fees.

There is ample parking space.

Luggage storage is offered.

IMPORTANT: The price is based on the length of stay and the number of persons. Seasonal rates also apply. Make an enquiry to receive the best offer!

The houseboat lies on the edge of downtown Amsterdam. It is easily accessible by car or by public transit. Buses and trams run every ten minutes and the nearest stop is just a three minute walk. Houseboat 'Fortunato' lies along the Zeeburgerpad, right near to the Funen windmill where microbrewery ‘het IJ’ is located in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood. The brewery has a tasting room, open for beer sampling from Wednesday to Sunday.

The owner also rents bicycles and a cycle into town takes five minutes. It is also possible to go on foot, past Artis Magistralis – Amsterdam’s zoo – and along the former VOC warehouses to Waterlooplein, the best-known open air market in the Netherlands. The walk takes about ten to fifteen minutes, or longer if you take the time to enjoy one of the many café terraces you pass along the way.

we had a wonderful time in Amsterdam. The house boat was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated (the shower is amazing!). It accommodated four adults with ease. The location, away from the main drag, was peaceful but a choice of two trams and a bus stop all nearby meant that getting into down town Amsterdam was a breeze. The boat has a beautiful patio area into the canal, we ate breakfast here in the morning and enjoyed afternoon drinks as the sun went down. The resident swans, heron and ducks on the canal provided the wildlife! The micro brewery in a windmill nearby was a lovely hub of local activity with some pleasant beers to sample. Jan the owner went above and beyond to help us, organising our arrival and departure was a breeze and he was most accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend the house boat if you're looking for a real taste of life in Amsterdam, will definitely return.

Yes, we had a lovely time and our host couldn't have been more accommodating. He picked us up at the dock when we had to disembark, and we had coffee while the houseboat was being cleaned. The added attraction of the swan's nest was just incredible - and it will stick in our memory as much as the other things we saw in Amsterdam. Next time I either come by myself or with another group, I'll definitely be contacting your agency.
