The Porthmeor area is central for the town & next to the Tate Gallery, Porthmeor beach is famous for its sunsets, surf, lovely cafe/restaurant, surf hire, school and life guards.

Ropewalk has an integral garage, full central heating and free wifi.

1 ROPEWALK – Lovely semi-detached cottage in a prime St Ives beach location with rare integral garage – useful for unloading luggage and storing beach gear.

1 LOWER SALTINGS - Spectacular views over Porthmeor beach, a large window seat is perfect for watching the surf & beautiful sunsets. Also has the rare addition of a private parking space within a courtyard next to the apartment.

The Tate gallery is built on Porthmeor beach on the site of the old gas works, the shape of the building echoes it's old use. Porthmeor beach area has an industrial past as an area of fish stores and net lofts, now these buildings are used for artists studios. The beach itself became popular in the 70's and is the main surfing beach in the town, providing a contrast to it's genteel neighbour the Porthminster Beach which being close to the station was popular from the Victorian times.

Alongside the surf, Porthmeor boasts a lovely beach cafe/restaurant, shop, takeaway, beach cabins, surf hire, lessons and life guards. It is also the location for the famous Tate gallery. There are fantastic walks from the beach along the coast out to Zennor.

Porthmeor beach has wonderful sunsets, surf, & the Tate gallery The apartment is situated in the central conservation part of St Ives, down the beach slipway and through the double wooden doors into the courtyard, to one side is the rare advantage of a private parking space. The kitchen was refurbished in 2011 and contains all the mod cons you will need during your holiday whilst central heating and thick granite walls keep you warm and toasty throughout your stay.

1 Lower Saltings is located on the beautiful Porthmeor Beach, home to the Tate, St Ives. 1 Ropewalk is up the beach slipway and just around the corner, alongside a row of artists studios.

St Ives harbour, is nearby and provides a full range of eating establishments and numerous boutique shops. St Ives is famous as a centre for the arts and there are over 30 galleries spread throughout the town. The Tate is close by on Porthmeor beach also the Barbara Hepworth museum and gardens, and the famous Porthmeor Studios and Art school. The Leach studios have also been re-furbished and are now open to the public. Porthmeor beach is the main surfing beach in the town, & a surf school is on hand for lessons and equipment. For those with younger children looking for calmer waters there is another small protected sandy cove at 50 metres. Please note the google map shows 1 Lower Saltings 1 Ropewalk is 50 metres from this marker, next to the o in Porthmeor Rd.

    Very suitable for children. Apartment is all on ground floor, no staircase. There is a travel cot and high chair, also a put-up child bed for bedroom. The bathroom has a full size bath with Mira electric sport shower over and additional shower set on bath taps, useful for little ones. There is a private entrance hallway, useful for pushchairs etc. The living, dining, kitchen area is all open plan with wonderful beach views, and whilst the family is out on the beach, you can pass picnic items out through the window. Good aluminium Outdoor table and chairs provided.

    Apartment is all on ground floor, there is a storm step over front door threshold, also 1 step down to main open plan living, dining, kitchen. The floor is mainly slate and non slip tiles in bedroom. Bathroom has bath with a step provided, with Mira electric sport shower over and additional shower set on bath taps. The private parking space is right next to the apartment within a courtyard. We have many returning guests with low mobility.

The solid beech Laura Ashley dining table is situated next to the kitchen and has 4 dining chairs, with wonderful views over Porthmeor beach. 1 Lower Saltings has a central hallway from which each room radiates. The living/dining/kitchen area is large and open plan. The living area has 2 sofas and a small armchair, one of the sofas is a fully sprung mattress king size sofa bed suitable for everyday use. A cot, child bed and highchair are available. There is also a large window seat with cushions situated within the granite arch of the window. The majority of the flooring throughout the property is tiled.
