The villas each have two large balconies with teak loungers and an outdoor dining area. A shared saltwater pool, Wireless Internet (wifi), and other special touches to help make this your perfect holiday hideaway.

Local Attractions: In addition to the natural beauty of Bathway Beach and neighbouring Levera National Park, we are lucky to have beautiful old Plantation Houses which include the Morne Fendue Plantation House (also known as the Betty Mascoll House) where you can tour the House and Gardens where Princess Margaret and US President Ronald Regan visited, and enjoy lunch or dinner. Helvellyn House offers lunches, and you can treat yourself to their famous pottery, and famous Belmont Plantation is an easy drive away where you can take their fun chocolate growing tour and enjoy the grounds - and lunch! We are also a short drive from the oldest working rum distillery in the Caribbean - at the River Antoine Rum Distillery where you can tour the facilities while they continue to produce rum the same way they did in the 18th century - with much of the same equipment and a working water mill! Closer still are the River Sallee Boiling Springs, known for their unique geology, and as a natural wishing well.

Dining Nearby: The North of Grenada has some wonderful restaurants, in addition to the charming nearby beachfront shacks serving Chicken or Fish & Chips, there is Aggie's - a new venture where you can enjoy local dishes such as Pepper Pot or some wonderful Austrian selections. Helena's, in Sauteurs, offers fresh local cooking which are enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the sea or along long tables inside. The Heights is a firm favourite, where you can enjoy lazy lunches or drinks with unsurpassed views up the Grenadines, or a relaxed dinner in the evenings. There is always fresh local fish on the menu, served in tempting dishes! A moment further along the same road is Petit Anse with plenty of seating inside their restaurant and bar area, as well as along their balcony to enjoy the wonderful view. A range of dishes from comfortingly familiar to more sophisticated meals, served in wonderfully relaxed setting tempts you to stay a little longer.

A Perfect hideaway in Northern Grenada

We (2couples), stayed for 4 nights in Pelican Villa, and had a wonderful stay. Kitty, the owner is an amazing organiser who knows everyone in the area and can sort out anything!!!
The villa is very comfortable, right on the beach. As it's elevated it has amazing views and catches the breeze so keeps a comfortable temperature. The surrounding area is quiet but interesting and we would say that a car is essential. Kitty organised a taxi to meet us at the airport and a hire car to be delivered next day.
If unspoiled areas are for you, Pelican Villa is the place to stay. We loved it and were sorry to leave.

What I liked best about this accommodation: "Everything"

I Recommend This For: "I probably would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!"

Secluded paradise with a warm welcome

Before traveling I always do a thorough due diligence on where to go and where to stay, I must have looked at a 100 houses and contacted at least 40 of them before making my decision when renting Moonfish Villas for our stay over Christmas for 5 day last Christmas, before going out sailing in the Grenadines.

When I found Moonfish villas I nearly instantly realized that this was the place for us, and after coming into contact with Kitty it's owner and the warm and welcoming email she sent me I knew that this would be the perfect stay. Kitty then helped me arrange our entire stay from pick up at the airport to rental car and day trips, Kitty truly walks the extra mile for her guests.

Arriving at the villa all of our hopes were met and more, we got the most heartwarming welcome even though we arrived during the night. Kitty and Russ greeted us and showed us the house, making sure we had all we needed. Opening the doors to the veranda the first time was an amazing experience; the sea is right there and the sound of the waves breaking and the smell in the air truly make you feel you have found your own piece of paradise. The house itself is impeccable, it is so new and fresh, nicely decorated with all the amendments you could need.

The northern part of the island is of course a bit secluded from the hustle and bustle of the south but you felt that you really get to experience the true Grenada. We went shopping in the local village had delicious food from the roadside plain air barbeques, and just a stroll down the beach you had the true local beach life we came looking for. It is a bit of a drive but if you are here for relaxation in a paradise surrounding this is the part of Grenada you will find it. We stayed in the southern part for just two nights after sailing and it was nice to but not to compare with what we got staying at Moonfish villas.

I would recommend anyone to stay at the Moonfish Villas when they are in Grenada, it has beautiful setting, the villa I impeccable, beaches restaurants and local villages just around the corner. It might be secluded but you never feel alone reassured that you have you host close to help meet any of your needs. The entire experience was great and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime.

Sun, Beach, Sea - Pure Relaxation

We (couple over 50, two daughters, 21 and 24) spent two weeks at Moonfish and enjoyed our “own” beach house, the pool and on some days the beach. Waves can be quite rough and noisy :-), the sea breeze is great.

We rent a car and would recommend it to anyone. You can explore Grenada, drive to the Caribbean side for swimming, do your shopping in Santeurs (around 15 minutes by car) and have there a great meal in the local restaurant “Helenas”.
Nearby (walking distance) we can recommend Aggie’s (try the breadfruit balls!) for dinner and lunch and also the Water Club: although it is only a beach cottage the nice couple cooked what ever we asked them to do (chicken breast, fish….) and arranged a boot trip to Sandy Island where they made a wonderful fish soup for us there.

Moonfish villas are lovely furnished with attention to the detail, cosy and well equipped.
What a view from the balconies on both floors!

Thanks to Kitty – she was always there with great support and advises. She arranged a small shop so that we had food on arrival, organised perfectly the transport from and to the airport, gave us lots of information in advance via E-Mail. According to our wishes she arranged a lady to come on several mornings which made pancakes & omelettes for us and cleaned the villa a little bit.
We felt so welcomed and comfortable.

The whole area is pretty untouched - most of the time we had the beach more or less to ourselves but on weekends the locals will have there barbecues there - - great atmosphere with music and rum :-) They made us very welcome, have not met so friendly people before!

We made lots of trips to discover Grenade (to drive a car – on the left side – needs quite often strong nerves :-) as streets are curvy and narrow and the locals love fast driving) and love especially Grand Anse with its white Caribbean beach. We drove round the island and used the street along the coast – amazing views! But we always tried to be “home” before darkness :-)
Don't miss the rum factory nearby and the chocolate fabric - a must: taste the 71% chocolate!

Our daughters missed “nightlife” a little bit but for us "oldies" it was a perfect place to relax and take time out to breathe.

Perfect vacation spot

We wanted to share a comment that our guests left on our VRBO advert: My husband and I wanted a place "off the beaten path" that wasn't "touristy" and that is what we got! We have vacationed all over the world and MoonFish is up there with our favorite spots for sure. The local swimming in the tide pools at Bathway Beach was really wonderful. The whole area is pretty untouched and quiet. Perfect!!

Wonderfully Relaxing

My family spent Christmas and New Years at Moonfish and we wish we had spent another two weeks more. The first thing that gets you is the sound of the waves - so relaxing. The second thing is the fabulous sea breeze that keeps you cool even though the temperatures are quite high.
The cottage is great for family or friends and Bathway Beach is an unspoiled area of Grenada, minus tourists. Just what we wanted.
I can't say enough about Kitty our fabulous host. She called me before our arrival to arrange a small shop so that we would have food on arrival. She organised our rental car (plus baby seat) for us, and she told us about all the hidden gems to visit while there. She had baby cot, high chair and playpen set up so I did not have to travel with those bulky items. And she's found and arranged for the few things left behind to be sent to me. That IS customer service at its best!
A quick note that even though we had a baby with us the cottage is more suited to older kids and not young toddlers/children.
The views from the cottage are spectacular and we were able to organise and cook our meals in comfort and with ease. I do recommend Aggie's down the road though.... she cooks great seafood. You have to walk to the swimming part of the beach, but the pool is there for lazy day lounging if you wish. This is a great place to stay and you will be sure to enjoy your stay just as much as we did.

Every guide book talks of ‘breathtaking’, ‘unspoilt’, Bathway Beach. This is the heart of authentic, hidden Grenada. Discover historic plantation houses, haunting Carib's Leap and evocative Helvellyn House with its’ famous pottery. Grand Etang National Reserve is just 30 minutes drive away. Within 15 minutes drive are shops and supermarkets and a number of restaurants ranging from the formal to the charming. However, just a few minute’s walk along the beach are 3 ramshackle ‘chicken shacks’ serving freshly caught fish and chicken of course and behind them is the popular Aggie's restaurant. For nature lovers Levera Beach is moments away, a secluded haven for birds and sea turtles, including the giant Leatherback. ‘This is Turtle watching is at it's best!’ Local fishermen will take you fishing or for a day's picnic and snorkelling on Sandy Island (which lies opposite the beach house) where the famous Bounty Chocolate bar adverts were filmed – this truly is ‘A taste of paradise’.
