vacation stay with trip into yellowstone

  • 5 of 5
This is a beautiful house, with sunny open rooms and plenty of space. We easily fit three single adults and one couple in the different rooms, and there was room to spare.

The kitchen was filled with all of the modern appliances which was great because we got to enjoy morning and evening meals at the house. We spent the days travelling to different sites in the area. It was a bit longer to get to the West Yellowstone entrance than we expected, but the trade off was a location that felt secluded even though we knew other houses were on the hillside.

There were two large living spaces but we found ourselves in the kitchen a lot in the evenings to talk and play board games around the kitchen table.

Another Great Stay.

  • 5 of 5
This was my second stay at this property, and once again, it was perfect. The owner did make a change since my stay here last fall. He added a fantastic outdoor fire pit in the center of the lawn. Perfect for enjoying some s'mores around the fire before going to bed. As with our first trip, the house was clean, and had everything that was needed for a very comfortable stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy all of the outdoor activities available in the area.

Our wonderful Christmas in a beautiful winter wonderland.

  • 5 of 5
We had a seven night reservation for the Aspen Hideout. We arrived to find knee deep snow on the ground and low temperatures below zero, but the Aspen Hideout was cozy, warm, and inviting, well plowed and shoveled out.

We were eight in number -- two parents with four mostly-grown-up children 15-24 years old, and two foreign exchange students, both 17 years old, from Brazil and Germany -- and we were all very comfortable with the bedrooms and general size of the house.

The home is located about a mile up a couple of hills on a dirt road. We used self-adjusting, easy-install tire chains on our front wheel drive van and encountered no difficulties getting in and out. The dirt road was well plowed but snow packed; we tried it without the chains once and could not get very far, so chains or four-wheel drive are probably a must when there is lots of snow.

The home is very well decorated, up to date, with very good-quality appliances, lots of books, games, puzzles. etc. The beautiful artwork in the home contributes so much to the peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed cooking several big meals in the well furnished kitchen. The eight-seat dining table was perfect for our group. With several piano players, the piano was well-used and enjoyed. The thermostat-controlled fireplaces in the family room and master bedroom were perfect, functioned very well, and added to the charming ambiance of this lovely home. All of the beds were very comfortable. The Internet access was good with several simultaneous users. We wanted for nothing.

The neighbors were quiet and friendly. The next door neighbor's golden retriever was so friendly, always anxious to be involved in our outdoor activities in the snow, and a joy to have around. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay.

The owner of the Aspen Hideout was generously responsive and helpful in email and phone conversations, a pleasure to work with.

We highly recommend the Aspen Hideout as a home away from home. We would love to stay here again.

AWESOME

  • 5 of 5
I have to admit that the owner Steve was is a smart business and kind man. He understands that if you give and treat customers well, they will return. We will return. I actually want to build a home like this cabin. The pictures online are legit. The location was just right! Two or so miles from a grocery store, that always helps.
The place was nice and clean, I was surprised it was so clean. Totally a better deal than going to a hotel because you have the kitchen, which had an awesome big fridge. The kitchen could have been a little better organized so you could have more room for food since the pantry is locked. But we could have done that ourselves. It is totally nice but family friendly!!! Tonz of books and games for adults and kids. I loved the sledding hill behind the cabin. Might have been private property, oops.
It felt so comfy there, not like we were at this random persons cabin. I loved it and so did my kids ages 4,3,1. The only reason I wouldn't stay there is if my entire family came because we have to many people. I LIKE that animals are NOT allowed for those with allergies aka my husband.

Fantastic Accommodations

  • 5 of 5
The property is easy to find using Steve's directions. Home is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by aspens, which had great fall colors during our stay. The home is wonderfully decorated, from the log beds, to the wall hangings. It was very clean and welcoming. Lots of room for several families to share the space, as well as the cost. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is in place here. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and there are plenty of towels in the bathrooms. We never ran short of hot water during our stay, with everyone showering one after another. It was close to many outdoor activities. We spent our time exploring and fishing many of the local rivers in the area.I can't express how nice it was to come back to an home with a warm fireplace, to break the chill of the fall air. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a get away to the scenic country. Thanks to Steve and his family for making this property available, for those of us, with the love of the outdoors.
