SECLUDED RIVER ESTATE WITH 360 DEGREE MOUNTAIN VIEWS

Three Rivers Estate Rental Photos and Description

24 Acre River Estate with Luxury Residence, 7 bedrooms and Swimming Pool

Voted Best Vacation Home in Kaweah Country 2013, the Redbud Trail retreat is nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, on the South Fork of the Kaweah River. This property offers the utmost in privacy and seclusion while being less than 10 min. from the quaint town of Three Rivers & 20 min. from Sequoia National Park.

The large 4800 sq ft residence is set on 24 magnificent wooded acres of blue oaks and redbuds overlooking its own unique piece of the South Fork of the Kaweah River. Keep an eye out for the local deer, stroll our olive grove or just marvel at the majestic mountain vistas.

The property is comprised of a two-story house with the utmost in luxury and comfort with an adjacent cozy studio. Central heating/cooling and a flexible mix of rooms with private patios ensures privacy, comfort and accommodation for any combination of guests. The large kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances ready for the heartiest of meals. Adjacent is a dining area seating up to 12, central to a generous and lofty living area with wood burning fireplace and veranda with breathtaking views of Blossom Peak. The outdoor living environment is equally enchanting with a fabulous lagoon pool, fireplace and rustic outdoor dining area with gas BBQ - all with a beautiful river view.

The ground floor also has a master suite with a queen- size Tempur-Pedic bed and a master bathroom with large jetted bathtub, generous shower, Swedish Sauna, separate toilet and bidet, walk-in closet and an extra vanity area. On the ground floor there is another bedroom also with a Tempur-Pedic queen-size bed. The third ground floor bedroom includes two queen beds, sitting area and private patio. There is also a full bathroom, a full laundry room with state of the art appliances and a separate library room.

Upstairs there are two large bedrooms with king beds, walk-in closets and private balconies. There is a central bathroom with separate vanity area.

The adjacent studio is completely private and only steps away from the main house. It offers rustic charm, knotty pine ceilings and walls, and a wood burning stove. It also has central heating and air conditioning. There is a queen bed in a nook area, a lounge dining area, a separate bedroom with two twin beds, a veranda and a bathroom.

Although the residence is superb, it is the outdoors that is the big attraction. Sip coffee on the huge veranda overlooking the lagoon style pool and watch the river running below, or enjoy meals on the rustic barbecue deck, marveling at the majestic mountains. In winter, huddle by the outdoor fireplace sipping wine while gazing at the incredible night sky. In summer, relax by the pool, dipping in to cool off now and then. Take nature walks on the property through the blue oaks, along the river frontage or through the olive grove, all the while being on the look-out for our friendly deer.

You will love vacationing at Redbud Trail Retreat so much it may be difficult to tear yourself away to see the Sequoia National Park and other attractions.

If you can leave your compound, the area offers an abundance of activities year round.

We are two families originally from Australia and have been in the hotel business for many years, so you can count on us to have everything just right. We love the outdoors and discovered the Three Rivers area while looking for a private 'off the grid' property to retreat to periodically from our busy schedules - a place to be able to enjoy with family and friends with easy access to the great outdoors of the Sierra Nevada.

Robin Castro purchased this estate in 2012

We loved our camping and hiking adventures in the Sierras so much that we decided to try to get own little piece. When we first toured the Three Rivers area we fell in love with the quaint town and its accessibility to the many outdoor activities, amazing vistas, natural habitats and river access. Red Bud Trail Retreat is one of those rare properties in the Three Rivers area that has vast views, river frontage , seclusion, and absolute peace and quiet.

This particular property is the last remaining parcel of land at the foot of Blossom Peak on Red Bud Trail. We just love the orientation of the home overlooking the river and mountains.

You feel totally secluded and your only neighbor is a family of deer that occasionally graze outside the kitchen window or the wild turkeys that drop by.

The olive grove of over 200 trees is always a great place to take a stroll, as is the riverfront.

Of course the residence is just fabulous , well built and so comfortable.

The property has a certain energy about it that you 'drop into' the minute you arrive.

We Love It!

Family Reunion Travelers

Everything about our stay was excellent. The facilities were extremely well maintained and very clean. This was a relaxing time to spend with family. Our younger members enjoyed the pool and pool table. We were fortunate to have a family ranch near and we spent time there also. This retreat is very close to the Sequoia National Park. We drove into the park and had dinner at a lodge and also hiked into the south park entrance and found a wonderful swimming hole. Loved our stay!!!

wonderful place for a family week together

  • 5 of 5
The house was absolutely wonderful for our group of 13 from ages 4-late 60s. We had plenty of space to spread out. There was a separate cottage for the family with two small children. The kitchen is beautifully outfitted and perfect for group cooking. The sunset reflecting in the pool is to die for.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Iris, for taking time to share a bit of your experience at Redbud Trail. The kitchen is my favorite part of the house because of its expansiveness, light, and abundance of gadgets, appliances, and specialty items (like the ice machine, the second set of sinks & the separate warming oven). It is perfect as you say, for conjuring up great meals for large groups. So glad you all enjoyed your week! ~Robin~

AMAZING ESTATE - View View View!!!

  • 5 of 5
There are moments in your life that take your breath away and we were LUCKY enough to celebrate such memories in a setting we will never forget. This gorgeous, well appointed estate was the backdrop for a milestone celebration, with family and friends ages 35-75. We enjoyed 7 days of hiking, shopping, relaxing, wonderful food & many laughs, complete only in a location second to none. The main house and cottage accommodated our group, where everyone was comfortable, yet had their own space. The beds are wonderful, the linens and furnishings are top notch. There are touches throughout in decor & excellence that truly make you believe you are in your own home and not "just a rental house". You will lack nothing in your stay here from the provided amenities to an incredible breath taking view out every window. Fully equipped kitchen with island, large walk in pantry & full bar area with sink & ice maker. The massive family room has a beautiful fireplace, big screen TV, CD player & remarkable views of the outdoors. The back lanai, outdoor fire pit, patio dining areas & lagoon pool were the places to be - whether during the day, after a long day at the park to watch the sunset over the hills or to eventually admire the wide open view of the nights stars. The grounds are simply natural, peaceful yet remarkable at every turn. COMPLETE PRIVACY nothing but nature - no homes, no neighbors, no roads in sight – truly your own sanctuary. And last but not least, I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Robin, paying attention to every detail & welcoming our endless questions via phone & email. Thank you again for everything and for sharing a piece of heaven on earth . . . We NEVER wanted to leave!!!!

Owner's Response: If there was ever a review that would convince someone to rent this property...this would be it!!! You guys enjoyed your vacation 100% and were so much fun to work with. I love how you had to pry yourselves away from the house to experience Sequoia Park and the town of Three Rivers. Taking part in providing so much joy is exactly why I love my "job" so much.
You don't live that far away, so I hope to see you again. `Robin~

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5
As a child, my family vacationed in Sequoia every year. After 30 years of being away, my mom, siblings, and I were excited to return. This home was perfect for us and made the vacation everything we hoped for! We had plenty of room to hang out together without feeling "on top" of each other. We swam, sat outside next to the fireplace and played games, and basically just enjoyed our surroundings. The view was beautiful. The home was clean. The beds were comfortable. And our contact person, Robin, was especially sweet and helpful. It was exactly what we were looking for and helped make our return to Sequoia a vacation we'll never forget.

**Oh, and the "in case you forgot something" guest baskets in each bathroom were a nice touch and were very appreciated!

Truly Tranquil! You will love it!

  • 5 of 5
If you are thinking about renting this house... Stop thinking and do it now!! It's gorgeous. Layout is perfect! Everyone had more than enough space! The amount of places for storage is spectacular and pictures of living room area look much smaller online than they actually are!! We sat to eat all 10 of us together in dining room, outside on deck and by outdoor fireplace. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, jet tub, sauna, game room, games (kids loved the big chess/checkers board, pool table and ping pong). The river is close by and find the tranquil pools by the Edison property a couple miles away. The stars at night are incredible! We didn't spend much time in Sequoia because we loved the house so much. Watching the sunset over the mountain peaks and sunrise was so peaceful and relaxing. I love to cook and cooked away! Everything you can think of is there to use! We all wish we stayed longer! Peaceful and relaxing with adventure close by is best way to describe this house definitely home away from home! Thank you Robin for the yummy homemade bread and wine and making our stay so welcoming!

Owner's Response: Wow - Lisa! You've re-set the bar for the most complimentary review so far!! You covered everything! Thank you so much. The best part is that you live close enough so you can come back again for the next graduation! :) It was nice meeting you and your family and I'm so happy everyone loved the place so much. Thanks also for recommending Flora Bella Farms to me for my future guests. Fresh, organic produce is an amenity that I overlooked...and it's right here in Three Rivers! ~Robin~

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5
For the weekend we stayed at this property, the Redbud Trail Retreat was truly our home away from home! We rented this beautiful home to accommodate our large group of family and friends who had come to attend and celebrate our son's wedding in Three Rivers. It was fun to see and hear everyone's surprised reactions as we walked in the door; the house is beautifully decorated, well equipped, and the owners have tried to provide for their guests every comfort one could imagine. Although our weekend was very hectic, I'm happy to say that we did have a chance in the evenings to relax on veranda and appreciate the lovely mountain views and moon-lit scenery.
Robin, thanks for all of your help and for the lovely homemade bread and bottle of wine you welcomed us with...it was much appreciated and a sweet gesture on your part.

Owner's Response: Padmini,
You and Ashok were a delight to work with throughout the months of preparing for the wedding. I was honored to host your family for this very special event. Meeting your other sons and your mom was especially memorable. I'm glad the property provided a bit of an escape for you for those hectic few days. Who knows...with 2 more sons, we may have another opportunity to work together in the future...?... ;) ~Robin~

Established in 1890, Sequoia National Park is California's first national park and America's second oldest. With more than 1 million annual visitors, Sequoia National Park is a popular destination for guests from around the world. Filled with pristine wilderness, giant trees, and terrain that invite engagement with adventure, it's a place where friends and family can enjoy the great outdoors together.

Sequoia Sightseeing Tours introduce visitors to this awe-inspiring park with expert local guides who know it well.

There are more than 800 miles of Sequoia hiking trails for people of every ability and inclination, from gentle ambles among giant sequoias to moderate day hikes and full-throttle ascents.

Fly fishing, stargazing, and spelunking are on the itinerary. And when winter makes its magical arrival at the park's higher elevations, Sequoia recreation expands to include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding.

Take a leisurely drive after breakfast (hopefully with our local deer family) and climb the 300 foot stair to the summit of Moro Rock where you will enjoy sweeping views of the western half of the Sequoia National Park. Or, visit Crystal Cave, a treasure-cavern of ornate marble polished by subterranean streams and decorated with curtains of icicle-like stalactites and mounds of stalagmites.

After your daily adventures return home to Red Bud Trail Retreat and enjoy our beautiful swimming pool with the uninterrupted serenity of the river and mountain views. At dusk, enjoy your BBQ on the outdoor deck and dine watching the sun set over the Sierras.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the deer early morning or at dusk. We can't guarantee they will visit every day, but they do frequent the estate. For groups of 8 or less, you might like to consider our VRBO #455181, which offers less bedrooms & fewer amenities, such as the private cottage, out door jacuzzi and game room.
