I am a retired person in my mid fifties, married to my lovely wife, Brigitta (in the picture) for almost 25 years. We have a daughter, Ashley, and a son, Edward, both of whom are in medical school. (Who said it gets easier as they grow up?)
We moved to Southern California from Canada twelve years ago and love it. We visited the desert a couple of times with some prejudice, I might add, but the more we came the more we enjoyed it.
Outdoor activities, the serenity and beauty of the desert, the air and the sky are all wonderful here. I find it healing, very relaxing to spend time here. The desert air, the stars at night, the whole environment is magical. There are places to visit, sights to see, trails to discover. It's an experience you'll want to return to. I hope you'll enjoy it too.
My family and I just wanted to have a desert retreat, but still have the amenities and conveniences of a town setting. This house is well located and comfortable. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. I don't feel isolated from other people, all amenities are within a short distance, yet the desert is at my doorstep.
All the beauty, serenity, the air, the night sky, the magic of the desert is here for you. I like to sit out on the patio in the evening watch as the sun sets over the mountains, lean back in my chair and marvel at the stars, or the morning sky on the East at sunrise. I even use the swing once in while. Sometimes a bird like the road runner in my picture visits. Or the coyotes 'singing' nearby after sunset. It is the perfect place if your are looking for a relaxing, quiet location. But it also offers a lot of opportunity for an active lifestyle in the surrounding areas. We are in the De Anza Borrego Desert with trails to discover, sights to see, and to play and enjoy the desert. (Ample of information on the internet on it.)
