Renovated 3 Bedroom 2 Bath Home With Mountain Views. Clean, safe and comfortable

This Vacation Home is located in Ocotillo Heights, a very quiet and safe neighborhood. The house is a newly renovated, clean 3 bedroom 2 bath single level home. It can accommodate 4 people very comfortably (more if necessary).

Of course there is central heating and air conditioning. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room for ambiance and that special feeling. Living room, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, hallway floors have ceramic tile floors and the bedrooms are carpeted. Kitchen is large and is equipped with new appliances, pots and pans, toaster and tableware for six people.

For your convenience there are laundry facilities as well. There is ample parking on the property for your vehicles, including the garage, shaded carport, driveway or even the backyard.

Borrego Springs is surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the largest State Park in the contiguous U.S. The property is minutes from world class, unforgettable desert hiking trails. You can choose to go for a casual stroll or a more strenuous climb. Other than world-class hiking, the park provides mountain & road biking, off-road motoring, golf, and amazing star-gazing. The State Park has lecture series and hikes addressing wildlife, star-gazing, local geology, and paleontology. Easy drive / hikes to ancient rock art and indigenous dwellings.

Borrego Springs has an active artists community. Art walks / openings are held regularly in-season, lots of galleries to drop in on. Local art scene includes a wonderful series of large metal sculptures of prehistoric animal life.

Within a reasonable driving distance you could visit Julian, an old gold mining town nowadays famous for its apple pies. Cleveland National Forest, the Salton Sea area are nearby. Or you could hop over to Joshua Tree National Park. Of course San Diego is within reach with all its attractions as well.

Borrego Valley Airport is located approximately 5.5 miles from the prooperty. It has a pilot-activated, lighted, 5000-foot runway, fueling and space for overnight and longer stays. It is student pilot-friendly and has late-model rental cars available, a restaurant and information on numerous other activities. It also offers the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Sky Trail that gives pilots and their passengers a chance to enjoy natural and historic features of the park, many of which can only be viewed from the air. The Borrego Valley Airport has 99% clear skies.

About Albert Ennedy

I am a retired person in my mid fifties, married to my lovely wife, Brigitta (in the picture) for 24 years. We have a daughter, Ashley, and a son, Edward, both of whom are planning to go to medical school. (Who said it gets easier as they grow up?) We moved to Southern California from Canada twelve years ago and love it. We visited the desert a couple of times with some prejudice, I might add, but the more we came the more we loved it. We enjoy outdoor activities, the serenity and beauty of the desert. I find it healing, very relaxing to spend time here. The desert air, the stars at night, the whole environment is magical. There are places to visit, sights to see, trails to discover. It's an experience you'll want to return to. I hope you'll enjoy it too. :)

My family and I just wanted to have a desert retreat, but still have the amenities and conveniences of a town setting. This house is well located and comfortable. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. I don't feel isolated from other people, all amenities are within a short distance, yet the desert is at my doorstep.

What makes this house unique

All the beauty, serenity, the air, the night sky, the magic of the desert is here for you. I like to sit out on the patio in the evening watch as the sun sets over the mountains, lean back in my chair and marvel at the stars, or the morning sky on the East at sunrise. I even use the swing once in while. Sometimes a bird like the road runner in my picture visits. Or the coyotes singing nearby after sunset. It is the perfect place if your are looking for a relaxing, quiet location. But it also offers a lot of opportunity for an active lifestyle in the surrounding areas. We are in the De Anza Borrego Desert with trails to discover, sights to see, and to play and enjoy the desert. (Ample of information on the internet on it.)

ATV, Jeep rides. Julian, old gold mining town, within an hour's scenic drive. Julian nowadays is famous for its tasty apples and apple-pie. The Borrego Chamber of Commerce East of Christmas Circle, immediately on the left hand side as you go toward Salton Sea on 22, has a lot of information available. Also visit De Anza State Park Visitor Center at the end of Palm Canyon Drive. They can also provide a lot of useful information.

Clean, comfortable, well-maintained house was perfect for our family of four. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, and is great for bicycling--in fact, the whole town is. Even better if you have mountain bikes because there are seemingly endless dirt roads crisscrossing the desert and leading to all the unusual metal sculptures around town. (And it was nice to have a clean, spacious garage in which to stow the bikes between rides.) Enjoyed seeing all the jackrabbits in the backyard. Owners are friendly, organized, and thoughtful; the house is well-stocked with the basics you need for a short stay. And they seem to be constantly improving things. When I first made the reservation, they mentioned there was no coffee maker at the house. By the time I got there, they had added one!
