This is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom English basement with a kitchen equipped with the basics for cooking & eating in, has full-sized appliances, including a full-sized washer and dryer. With a queen-sized pull out sofa in the living room, it can accommodate up to 4 people.

The space underwent a full renovation in 2011 and is elegantly decorated in a mid-century modern style. You enter into the living/dining area, which includes a desk in the alcove area under the window. The kitchen is just on the other side of a half-wall, making for an open, inviting living area.

The property is located a half-block off of Lincoln Park, the heart of this section of Capitol Hill. We are a beautiful, family-friendly neighborhood that is centrally located between the lively nightlife of H St, the delicious fresh food & local wares sold at Eastern Market, and the historic presence of the Capitol Building, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court.

Transit options include:

- Bus lines just a block away in either direction

- 2 metro stations covering 3 metro lines: Eastern Market (blue/orange lines) is a 12-minute walk and Union Station (red line) is a 20-minute walk away.

My Sister and I with our husbands stayed here for a week, and absolutely loved it. The owner (Jenn) was great, very responsive, and helpful. Everything we did was with in walking distance, and this location is in such a cute spot, we might have been spoiled by the weather and flowers blooming everywhere, but we really enjoyed our stay here :)
The house/ apt had everything we needed, comfy bed, great utilities, and enough space for the 4 of us (and thats with our 6'4" + hubbys too) a much better option than a hotel.
We would defiantly stay there again if we are ever back in DC!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The basement apartment was in excellent condition and very handsomely furnished. Linens, towels and other furnishings high quality and clean. The appliances, shower, bathroom, were all in great working condition. The neighborhood is nice, and there are several shops and restaurants just a few blocks away. I even walked by a prominent US Senator while strolling about one evening! The listing was accurate and the owner was very helpful in answering any questions that I had before and during my visit. I recommend the place for professionals visiting Washington on business or couples on a getaway.

Great location! This site just opened and aside from a few quirks that needed to be ironed out, I would highly recommend staying here. Jen the owner was very helpful and prompt on getting any problem resolved immediately. It is a comfortable and cozy basement apartment.
It is a 20 minute walk to the capitol/ mall. The close proximity of Eastern Market/metro provided great access to us getting to other destinations. Purchase a smart pass which we did and it made traveling much easier. There are lots of restaurants,coffee houses in the area,we ate at a lovely french restaurant in the neighborhood.
I would rent this property again. Jen was great to work with!
