Great Spring Break!
Our family of four, with two older sons, spent spring break in paradise! Casa Ya Ya listing information and photos were all accurate. The view was amazing and we enjoyed a double-rainbow during happy hour one evening. March trade winds were refreshing and no bugs, not even on the beaches. We loved the open style and floor plan which provided nice privacy for all family members. We would recommend without hesitation and hope to visit again to see the renovations owners have planned! All amenities were as advertised and we really appreciated plenty of big beach towels, beach chairs, cooler and gas grill! The house was clean, our greeter was cheerful even though our flight delayed our arrival and the on-island property management team was extremely responsive to one minor issue, resolving it immediately. Cindy and Bill were very helpful and promptly answered our pre-trip inquires, as well as checking in after our trip and sending deposit refund quickly.
Location was perfect, but rent 4-wheel drive for all island travel. It was an easy ride into Cruz Bay, but why bother? The food and beaches on the "quiet" side of the island were fantastic. Beaches and snorkeling were less crowded and had so much diversity it was a new adventure each day. Shhhh - best kept secret - go to Jumbie Bay early to get one of six parking spots, take lunch and beverages and have a great day. If you feel the need to snorkel Trunk it's a reasonable swim from Jumbie, but do that early before cruise crowds arrive. Don't miss Saltpond for snorkeling and make sure you eat at the Tourist Trap. Also eat at The Pink Corner, Miss Lucy's and have drinks at Shipwreck Landing. Check the music schedule for Skinny Legs. It's not much to look at, but the food and atmosphere were laid back. Our percussionist son was invited to use wooden spoons and a pickle bucket and played with the band - he's ready to ditch college and become an island musician! Didn't want to come home! Loved our stay.
Only draw back from our perspective was it took a night or two to get used to crowing roosters, but renovations of sliding glass doors and AC will surely reduce noise and who can really complain when they get to spend time in beautiful St John! Thank you Cindy and Bill for helping make our family vacation memorable.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words! The beauty and comfort of Casa YaYa and its surrounds make the experience a dream. The only thing we can do to enhance this is to communicate with our guests on a personal level and provide the best on island team we can! We are glad you were satisfied. Those darn roosters! They seem to be a bit clock shifted, don't they? We are excited to offer our guests the option of closed doors and AC, if they so desire. We hope to see you in the future when time allows a return to paradise!
