Everything is here for a comfortable stay including a full up to date kitchen, laundry, jet bathtub, wood burning fireplaces, flatscreen DVD TVs, BBQ, western decor & art, and internet. The house has a large porch overlooking a bubbling creek and horse pastures surrounded by a great yard. Very private but only minutes from the best outdoor activities (too many to mention), shopping, dining, galleries and entertainment. You can just hike out the front door for miles or bike up the road forever. x country ski to Aspen from right down the road. Plenty of parking and lots of quiet beauty with wild life galore. You are in the heart of nature in your little log cabin with all life's conveniences but well within easy access to Aspen's day & night life, so enjoy it all.
Lee & Linda met in Aspen and bought this little ranch to raise Appaloosas and Quarter horses. It was a dream come true. Lee is the horse guy and Linda is an artist, who paints the horses and teaches dance & exercise.
Linda Loeschen purchased this cabin in 1975
We used to live in Aspen but needed more property for the horses. When we moved 'downvalley' people couldn't understand it. Now all of our friends have moved here, as well, and 'downvalley' has become the popular place to be.
Our location is a perfect place to be in the Roaring Fork Valley. Glenwood Springs, with its famous Hot Springs Pool and Yampa Caves, Water Wave and recreation Parks, Concerts is 18 minutes in one direction and world renown Aspen/Snowmass, is 18 minutes in the other direction. In between is Carbondale & Basalt with their own unique character including fairs, concerts, family owned shops, galleries and restaurants. Whole Foods has joined the valley only 3 miles from the ranch. When we are home it's quiet, beautiful and cozy and yet if we want to join all the amazing activities of the valley, up and down, it's a hop, skip and jump away.
A very nice cabin on a horse ranch near Basalt Colorado.
We really enjoyed the accommodations. Especially the wood burning fireplace. A very cozy environment . we enjoyed snow all around and took road trips to Aspen and other neat areas close by. Kinda and Lee are great owners and were very cordial hosts.we will definitely return to this beautiful cabin and area.
Maybe there's something in the water but we decided to tie the knot after that wonderful weekend. We had the place to ourselves except for a few horses and some rabbits. We visited Aspen one night but basically stayed around Basalt and rode our bikes on the extensive bike paths. It was nice to get away from traffic and city life. We actually saw a shooting star. Don't expect the Ritz; just real Colorado.

We loved the unpretentious, warm and relaxing atmosphere. Felt right at home and no pressure. The area is absolutely quiet and beautiful so after our day rafting it was a perfect place to recuperate. Next day we visited Aspen. Totally different. It was fun but crowded and expensive. The mountains are awesome and hiking was the best. The restaurants around Basalt and Carbondale were more reasonable. We did a lot of our own cooking.
If we visited the Roaring Fork Valley again, we would certainly stay here. The location is perfect.

The beds were comfortable and the showers hot.
I found this place for my daughter and son-in-law for a short 3-day trip after their wedding. They had a wonderful, quiet, cozy time and truly loved the place and the location. I had told the owners that they were on their honeymoon, and they even left a bottle of champagne for them! An unexpected and much appreciated courtesy! Highly recommend.
