About Chris B

I have been going to Mammoth since I was in high school.

It is my home away from home. Not sure if I like winter or summer better! When I'm stressed at work, I picture myself sitting in the living room looking out at the mountain views and tree tops.

Why Chris B chose Mammoth Lakes

This 4 bedroom property is located near the entrance to Canyon Lodge Parking lot. There is only one common wall (to the unit next door) so it feels more like a cabin than a townhome.

Walk outside and all you will see are trees because this backs up to the National Forest. Perfect place to build a snowman, throw snowballs, or sled.

If you like bird watching, I have seen 5 varieties fly down and sit on my balcony railing. (Of course, it helps that I am feeding them peanuts.)

Awesome Rental

We spent 5 days here over Thanksgiving and it accommodated our family and my brother in laws family comfortably. House was well stocked and had a great location. Hope to use again in the future when there is snow :)

Great Location with all the Essentials

My family and I stayed here during the sumer. It was a great location for the kids to climb the mountains and run around. The condo has all the essentials you need and is closeby to everything. There's nothing fancy about it but you don't need fancy when you are in Mammoth, it was the perfect place to get away.

Spacious and Serene

We spent a wonderful week here in July with our family of four. It’s a perfect spot, situated on a hill with nice views and a sense of privacy. The complex is on the edge of the ski slopes, with a lovely forest setting and hiking trails nearby. It’s a condo but it feels more like a cabin. There is a fun little restaurant nearby with a lively bar and great happy hour specials. Otherwise it's a five minute drive down to the village for other restaurant choices. But we chose to cook in most nights. The kitchen is well equipped and the "great room" setup is a good family zone for long relaxing evenings. I would recommend this property in any season. We plan to return!

Beautiful Views, Convenient Layout & Location!

What a great unit! My in-laws stayed in the master suite upstairs, perfect since going up and down the stairs would have been a strain for them. The patio view to the slopes is even more gorgeous than what's pictured here...the perfect setting for a retreat getaway. Even though Mammoth is a rather small city, the condo location was close to the Village, outlet shopping center, and more importantly to Lake Mary & Lake George (for fishing). The heaters in the unit work really well, so if you have little ones, be sure to watch them when they're turned on.

Only 3 cons I can think of:

(1) the top bunks is set pretty high, so they're more for kids under 8...otherwise, if you forget you're sleeping outside of your home, very good chance to hit your head

(2) no wifi - but you're on vacation...it was a nice getaway from emails and work

(3) no dvd collection, but the redbox at Vons supermarket sufficed.

On top of all the pluses, the most important is that Chris (the owner) is very responsive and easy to work with.

Better Than Advertised -- FANTASTIC

Renters do not beware, this property (unlike so many others) is truly better than it looks, which is saying something since it looks great.

The condo is very nicely furnished and incredibly comfortable; in a perfect spot for skiing the mountain. The kitchen is lovely and very well stocked, and overall we had absolutely everything we needed.

In addition, Chris was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating and understanding.

The only down points were the lack of wifi and no way to play music in the main areas of the house aside form the owner's older equipment, which I didn't want to fiddle with out of fear of messing something up.

I could not recommend this property enough.

Great place for two families

This property is exactly as described and as you see in the pictures, if not better. The kitchen is excellent and stocked with everything you need, the great room has plenty of space for everyone, and the bedrooms are perfect for both kids (in the bunk rooms) and parents. It is clever that the master is upstairs while the other three are downstairs. This is one of the better VRBO properties we have stayed in (we have stayed in 5 over the past 5 years).

The hot tub/ game room is not next door, and so it was very peaceful when we were there. Great views of Canyon Lodge and chair 8. Chris (the owner) is very responsive and easy to deal with.

If we find a family to share the place next year, we hope to be back.

This 4 bedroom property backs up to the National Forest.

Very quiet and tranquil with spectacular mountain and ski slope views. Ski to your front door via Village Ski-Back Trail.

Easy 10 min walk to Canyon Lodge Lifts or catch the shuttle right in front of the Mammoth West office and get a ride.

If you don't want to ski or board, you can walk over to to Canyon Lodge and take the Gondola down to the Village and have lunch or shop.

During the summer:

There are endless lakes to fish or grab your bike and ride miles of trails.

Great hikes: Rainbow Falls, Devils Postpile, and much more!
