DOLPHINS IN YOUR FRONT YARD AND MILES OF SANDY BEACH

Double Dunes offers all the amenities needed for a great stay at the beach. The house overlooks a wide sandy beach, perfect for shell collecting, practicing golf, or sipping wine. A comfortable kitchen and plenty of space to spread out prove very practical for a large group. Tasteful decor, especially the custom stain glass windows, add character and charm. The home is convenient to shops, restaurants, and other attractions.

We love staying at Double Dunes. Outstanding ocean views and bright, beautiful bedrooms. It's very handy having a bedroom on the main level. An abundance of kitchen equipment. Plenty of space for activities, crafts, dining and relaxation. It's beautifully decorated and so clean. We've stayed here many times and there's something new every time we come. We have recommended it to all our friends.

I felt at home here.

Starting my day with a cup of coffee and an ocean view, I enjoyed morning walks on the beach watching the sunrise. I love watching the pelicans fly over and was thrilled to see dolphin on more than one day. My beach walks are a hunt for sharks' teeth. I was thrilled to find several each day with some being about an inch long.

The house has every amenity I have at home. I love having wi-fi because as much as I love being away, I like to stay in touch with folks. I love the windows and cathedral ceiling. The windows allowed in plenty of sunlight. I was able to catnap in the sun on more than one afternoon. The washing machine and dryer were very handy when I made a mess. I never intend to do laundry on vacation, but I'm glad the machines were there and worked so well.

The friends and I who stayed here have diverse interests. Some are readers, some beaders, some beachcombers, some computer junkies, some card/game players, some sun worshippers. Each of us had plenty of room in our rooms, the dining room, and the living room to enjoy our hobbies. The sun bathers had wonderful space on the decks to soak up the sun in the comfort of the chairs. We watched movies and enjoyed the books available here.

We ate out most nights. Our favorite restaurant is the Riverview in Sneads Ferry, but also enjoy Sears Landing and II Beachines. While we are not cooks, the kitchen has all that a family needs to cook all meals in. There are places to buy fresh seafood very affordably. One night we made our own shrimp pasta meal. We were surprised at how easily inlanders could learn to prepare seafood.

I find myself most relaxed at this home. I will return again because I feel so comfortable here.
