Got sandals? I grew up a desert rat, and I love the rich smells and vibrant colors of the desert. Then there are the quail and the roadrunners who win my heart every time I see them. The desert is a uniquely beautiful place, and there is nothing better than letting one's toes breath in a pair of comfortable sandals in the warm desert sunshine.

Tracy Ragsdale purchased this house in 2012

My husband and I now live in the Pacific Northwest, another especially beautiful part of the country, but let's face it, an old desert dweller has got to see the sun now and then. We hope you will enjoy and take care of our 'sun' retreat, as much as we do. So, hello La Quinta, hello sandals!

There is nothing more magical to me than 'purple mountain majesty' coupled with the beautiful orange and red sky which predominates the southwestern sky. Casa de la Hermosa Cielo, the House of the Beautiful Sky, aka Casa Hermosa, not only offers an every changing, brilliant and captivating sky, but it also offers the charm of a Santa Fe, and innumerable close by activities to enrich and fill one's days.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE...EVEN DURING THE HOT DESERT MONTHS

  • 5 of 5
Amazing! My family and I had never stayed in a vacation home before. Up to this point, we had either stayed in hotels or condos. After our stay at Tracy's home in La Quinta, we may never stay any where else!

The home itself is beautiful and well maintained. The amenities such as the pool and hot tub are the perfect size. The fact they are salt water is an added bonus. The master bed was comfortable and roomy with great access to the pool. The grill was used several times as well.

The La Quinta area had great dining possibilities. We ate out several times. There is amazing hiking in the area. However, if you stay in July plan to do your hiking very early in the AM as the temps will likely be triple digit by 10 AM or so. But we enjoyed the early hikes.

Tracy is very easy to work with and responsive with out being obtrusive. Our family will likely be staying here again. We have already recommended this place to family and I wouldn't be surprised if they take us up on the recommendation.

This place is a gem!

OUR DESERT RETREAT!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time relaxing, swimming, viewing the mountains and stars, reading, napping and did I say, relaxing! This is our second stay at Casa Hermosa and it's just perfect for us and our 2 small doggies! It was our 20th wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a lovely card and bottle of champagne in the refrigerator - a really nice touch! Just love Casa Hermosa and we will definitely be returning. Our doggies are very safe in the completely walled and secure yard. Property description and photos are accurate. The house is very clean and well maintained. Tracy is great, welcomes feedback and is a very helpful owner!

RELAXING AND PRIVATE

  • 5 of 5
My husband and our two daughters and their husbands spent a wonderful 3 days at this property. You know it's good when you could picture yourself living in the house. The view out the kitchen window was mesmerizing to me. The pool looked small in the pictures but ended up being very comfortable for us even when 4 of us were in there. The walled yard gave us wonderful privacy but did not block the stellar views all around. The house had everything we needed and we all thought it was wonderful.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!

  • 5 of 5
Arriving tired and worn out we found everything we needed- very accessible and easy to snuggle right in. The open floor plan and very handsome kitchen lended to great conversation and ease. We really enjoyed the open French doors to the pool with water cascade from the hot tub as we watched our favorite movies on the overstuffed down couch that was huge!! Bedrooms were so nicely put together and the master bath shower really made a great weekend get away. Getting up early i just loved the open windows that are up high across the entire home so that when the sun comes up in the morning it casts a beautiful ambience from the suns reflection on the mountains surrounding the valley- amazing!! Everything was very clean and well organized - I will definitely be staying here again!!! We were so rested and recharged by Sunday we didn't want to leave!!

I would recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is in need of RnR and recharging your soul.

BEAUTIFUL HOME FOR AN AMAZING COACHELLA EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
Tracy's home had all the amenities we could've asked for while attending the Coachella Music Festival, and without the insanely high prices that can be found at other houses. It was clean, comfy, spacious, and nothing beats hanging out poolside with the misters going in that +30C heat. Thanks for making a few Canadian's Cali. vacation just that much better, and we hope to see you again!

WINTER GET-AWAY IN BEAUTIFUL LA QUINTA COVE

  • 5 of 5
We rented this fabulous home in La Quinta Cove during winter 2013/14. The house was a pleasant surprise in every way and is even more beautiful than the photos. The kitchen was very modern and well appointed. The bedrooms and bathrooms also modern, clean and well appointed and if we had any questions the owner answered them promptly. The garage was also huge! We especially liked that we weren't in a 'gated community'. There is also a small down town area within walking and cycling distance with places to enjoy a cappuccino, a visit with friends, shop or have lunch. And there are too many fine restaurants in the area offering 'Happy Hour' or Dinner to mention! For a winter get-away to walk, hike, bicycle, sightsee, etc. La Quinta offers all these things and more. We definitely recommend La Quinta Cove and Casa de la Hermosa Cielo.
