Overview

Sierra Tract House Rental Photos and Description

Warm And Inviting 3BR 2BA W/ Fabulous Views Situated Close To All Amenities

This is a cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath home that backs up to South Lake Tahoe's most beautiful meadow. The Upper Truckee River splits and runs right through the meadow from two different directions. To top off our Post Card View, the horizon is dominated by a 180 degree view of snow-capped mountains. Our home comfortably accommodates a maximum of 6 guests.

Situated right in town but secluded for privacy you will find direct southern exposure enabling you to enjoy the changing colors of the day. Relax and curl up in the comfort of our cozy sofas to read while enjoying the meadow view or hike straight out from the house to breath in the fresh pine air. Our surrounding trees have numerous breeds of birds jumping and flying with colors and calls.

Our focus is to provide every comfort for your stay. Our home is outfitted with high quality linens, towels as well as comfortable beds and furniture. Adding to the coziness and warmth, the walls and ceilings are finished with aged clear-heart redwood and knotty pine. You will also find a gas fireplace insert without the work of building a fire.

The kitchen adjoins the dining area and offers the same tremendous views while you prepare breakfast or pack a lunch for the days outing. You will find all the cooking utensils, high quality pots and pans as well as paper goods, herbs and spices and condiments you might need.

We also have a teak table, chairs and gas grill at the back deck overlooking the meadow and river facing directly south.

There are numerous restaurants from 5 star to delicious local taquerias for dining in or taking out if you want to spend your time away from the stove. Our back deck provides a place to lounge in the summer months and a short walk out the back gate offers a walk along the river.

In the summer, we are close to numerous beaches, biking and hiking trails as well as several golf courses to choose from. In winter we are less than 10 minutes to Heavenly Ski Resort. For other ski options you will find Sierra-at Tahoe 15 miles up the pass or Kirkwood a beautiful 45 minute drive over Luther Pass and through Hope Valley.

Visiting in the Spring is beautiful as the wildflowers bloom and the trees show off their light green array and Autumn brings with it a myriad of fall color that makes some hiking trails just glow.

We are located just 10 minutes from the California/Nevada state line where you will find a variety of top-notch entertainment options from restaurants to music and comedy shows, casinos and cinemas. Leaving our home in either direction you will find accessible grocery stores and specialty shops to suit your every need.

About V & Nancy Altman

Our family of four has enjoyed the tradition of our mountain home as a get away for the entire family or a romantic weekend for just the two of us. With our children now grown and the balancing of our schedule demands, we have decided we would like to share the joy that we have had at our cozy mountain home with others. Our house is outfitted as our primary home with all creature comforts. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we have and make it a travel/holiday tradition each year.

V & Nancy Altman purchased this house in 1991

Why V & Nancy Altman chose Sierra Tract

We looked far and wide for months for a unique home for our family. The day we found this home, we opened the front door to reveal the treasure inside of wood walls, beam ceilings, mountain and meadow views and above all, warmth, character and charm.

What makes this house unique

Our house is conveniently located in town. When closing the front door behind you, you will feel like you are in the forest among the meadows, mountains and streams. We have suited our house with quality furniture to make comfort the top priority for our guests stay.

WILL STAY AGAIN!

  • 5 of 5

It was an unforgettable stay for six of us. The home is very charming and welcoming. Its location is convenient and accommodating for all fun activities you choose to participate (skying, walking, biking, birdwatching, etc.)

The large kitchen and the dinning room overlook a gorgeous and pacifying meadow making you feel in harmony with nature.

The owners of the house are caring, very responsive and friendly. They answered all of my questions promptly and gave me precise information.

The VRBO description of the house is accurate and all the promises are kept!

Great Cabin with an Amazing View

  • 5 of 5

When we first stepped in we were stunned by the great view of the sunset. It was a great place and a perfect size for the group of 5 of us. Nancy and V were also great with the communication, with fast responses and also very accommodating. Cabin is also super close to a ton of restaurants and grocery stores, super close to Heavenly and very easy to get to Kirkwood too. Would definitely come back again!

Owner's Response: Yup, we arranged that! We asked the sun to hit the horizon right on time. It's great when a guest comes to our home right at sunset. The colors in the clouds and the meadow light up to a red hue. Morning time is just about as beautiful

New Year in Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 couples all visiting to catch up with our boys who are on their OE. What a wonderful way to start the New Year! Enjoyed the skiing, walking, dining and generally hanging out in a very cosy and homely holiday cabin. The cabin is clean, and has everything you need. We had several dinners with all the extended family together! Nancy and V were super with communication! We will be returning to New Zealand with very fond memories of Tahoe! Highly recommend this place to stay!

Home with a view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! We are a family of four with two college age sons. It was a perfect place for us to gather and enjoy the holidays together. The house was beautiful, comfortably furnished and it was such a joy to wake up to a view of mountains and meadows. My sons and I spotted coyotes early in the morning and even saw a bald eagle swoop by! We were able to walk directly from the house to explore the area and eat at local restaurants. We were away from the crowds with easy access to everything. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Owner's Response: Wow! We've not had the blessing to spot an eagle in our meadow! You received a Christmas present. We have what we call "the delightful married couple" of coyotes in the meadow, the hang together. The meadow and mountains make waking and settling so enjoyable. Coffee in the morning and tea at night.
