Centrally located on the Idaho side of the Tetons, this home is perfect for a large family or small group. Housebroken pets are also welcome for an additional fee. The house sits on 2 1/2 acres, so there's plenty of space between road and house and it's wonderfully quiet at night.
Views from the front and back decks are of the Tetons and the Big Holes. Horses to the west and east and a large field to the north give a rural feel, but you're only a few hundred feet from the main highway through Teton Valley, Idaho.
The kitchen is well stocked and has a KitchenAid mixer and food processor, Crock Pot, blender, coffee bean grinder and coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and many pantry items that you are welcome to use. If you don't want to cook, there are excellent restaurants in Driggs and Victor, just a few miles down the road. The dining table accommodates six people, or up to ten with the two extra leaves that are available.
Large windows and French doors let in plenty of light and give great views of the mountains. The living room/kitchen area has a high ceiling with huge log beams and a log railing. In-floor heat keeps the house at a constant temperature and makes for nice, warm tile floors in the bathrooms and downstairs, especially in the morning! There's a wood stove in the kitchen, too.
On the main floor are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large master bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed with down comforter on a platform frame, a roll-top desk and large windows. Above the two sinks in the master bathroom is a long window that lets in light and provides a pleasant view. There's also a jetted tub and a walk-in closet.
Of the other two bedrooms on the main floor, one has a bunk bed (and a piano!) and the other one a twin bed. The second main floor bathroom has a tub/shower.
Downstairs there is a large family room with a 42-inch flat-screen TV, DVD player and VCR, a few DVDs and VHS tapes, and a couple of game consoles (Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, to delight the retro gamers). In this large room are also a queen-size bed and a twin bed.
Also downstairs is a large bedroom with a queen bed and a large window that lets in great light, one bathroom with a shower, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. Another room contains an extensive library of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as lots of board and card games and toys.
There are beds for up to 10 people (one set of bunk beds is probably best for children), and there are two foam pads that make sleeping on the floor quite comfortable. Also, one side of the two-car garage is available to renters.
We've lived in Teton Valley since 2004 and have loved being close to the mountains for hiking, camping, and snowshoeing.
We moved to Teton Valley for the views and easy access to outdoor activities. This is our primary residence, but we are renting it out while we live and learn in Europe with our children.
Located in the heart of Teton Valley halfway between Driggs and Victor, a few hundred feet off highway 33. Easy access to Grand Targhee Ski Resort, hiking in the Tetons and the Big Hole Mountains, biking on the paved trail west of highway 33, golfing, live music and great restaurants in Victor, Driggs, and at Targhee. Just a couple of miles from the Teton River.
It's a beautiful 45-minute drive over the mountain to Teton Village and Jackson Hole with skiing, art galleries, restaurants, shopping, cultural events, and the airport.
