Natives of Massachusetts now living in New Hampshire - both of us have spent many happy hours in Maine. We are true New Englanders and both have many fond early childhood memories of visiting Maine with our families and then to later in life enjoying it together and with our children. Maine has so much to offer we never tire of it.

Joanie Anderson purchased this house in 2011

We have loved this part of Maine for years and while up here camping ( in Camden) we were out driving and just by chance fell upon this place. Suffice to say it was love and first sight and we couldn't wait to be the new owners.

The view was the catalyst in the decision to purchase this home but we believe it was destined to be as well. The previous owner's name was the same as ours and we have a home in Northport FL. - what are the odds, you can't ignore karma.

MAINE BAY VACATION (7/5 - 7/19/14)

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed two wonderful weeks at Baybreeze. The pictures on the website accurately represent the establishment. It was fun watching the tides come in and go out, whether from the house or either decks. A nice surprise was no “foul” smell at low tide! This was our first time living on a bay area, so we did not know what to expect. Another nice surprise was there are no close neighbors on either side of Baybreeze. Even though it is not included in the write-up, there is a washer/dryer available in the house.
If you are thinking about inviting friends to join you at Baybreeze, then the layout of Baybreeze is ideal. Our friends used the downstairs facilities and we had the privacy of the upstairs.
Baybreeze is conveniently located to attractions from Boothbay to Arcadia. If you are into gardens, don’t miss Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothbay or Thuya and Asticou Azalea Gardens in Northeast Harbor near the National Park. The State Parks in the area are gems, Camden Hills (hiking) and Lake St. George (canoeing) to mention two. A variety of good restaurants from Rockland to Belfast offer many good meals when you do not feel like cooking. You are on vacation!
During our two week stay, we only had 2 days of damp weather – museum days – Farnsworth Art (Rockland) and Owls Head Transportation (Owls Head.) On the other day, we visited the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport.
We recommend you consider staying at Baybreeze if you are looking for an opportunity to enjoy bay life.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME!

  • 5 of 5
Our family really enjoyed this home. We have traveled throughout the world and have used vrbo repeatedly. This home was very accurately described on the website.

Stunning views and easy access to the water. There are nice tvs but we never watched them. The windows were perfectly distracting! The kitchen was well stocked.

The kids played constantly in the yard and on the beach. We also REALLY enjoyed the quiet town of Belfast. We later went to Bar Harbor and much preferred Belfast. Many nice people and food options. We also highly recommend the restaurant Primo. Well worth the 45 minute drive to Rockland.

Our host was very happy to assist and made it easy to enjoy our trip. We will suggest this home to friends.

GIRLS TRIP

  • 5 of 5
WOW! This home was outstanding in every way. The picture is exactly what you see every morning from the house. The accommodations met our every need, from lobster pot to hair dryer to music. Very convenient to Belfast and Camden, yet away so that you felt like you had the entire bay to yourself. We never visited Maine before and it's location allowed us day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We all went away saying that we would highly recommend this place to our friends. Joanie made it completely hassle-free. We especially used her tips in the welcome book to become "locals" quickly. Thank you, for helping make this special trip a huge success for my family and friends.

OUR YEARLY MAINE VACATION!!!!

  • 5 of 5
We have just returned from another yearly vacation to Maine. We always rent a home near belfast or Northport. This yr, we found Baybreeze!!!! and we will no longer be looking for any other property to rent for our vacations in Maine. The house is just spectacular with the most beautiful view of Penobscot Bay from almost every room in the home. Its comfortable and charming and made us feel right at home. We traveled a few days out of our 2 weekstay (Acadia National Park, Mount Battie and a winery tour), but couldnt wait to get back and just sit on the deck and just watch the world go by peacefully. With the great kitchen set-up,and grill on the deck, we ate most of our fantastic meals right on the deck, and couldnt find a restaurant with a better view!!! Our search for the perfect property for our vacations to Maine is over. THis home is everything you look for in a vacation rental. Its peaceful tranquility, stunning views, cleanliness thru-out the home, it just has all the comforts of home and the owners are a joy to work with. This home is a gem. A little piece of heaven right here in Maine!! There is nothing else to say, except, we did not want to leave and we cant wait til our next stay!!!!

WONDERFUL TRIP

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed at Baybreeze the week of June 24, 2013. We could not have found a better place! It was especially nice that the back porch overhangs the water when the tide is in. It was very clean and modern with lots of windows overlooking the bay. We hope to come again soon.

So much to offer in Mid-Coast Maine. Minutes to downtown Belfast with all the trendy shops, boutiques and niche vendors. Fantastic artisans to both visit and purchase treasures from. Great restaurants from upscale to dine on the dock with the freshest seafood you have ever had. Just a quick trip around the corner and you are in Bayside - a nostalgic area of Northport that offers a beach and dock for swimming and a marina full of sailboats. There is a small 'common' where various activities take place over the summer months. A short drive down to Camden offers additional shopping, galleries and restaurants. Great specialty cuisine at some of our favorite spots. Camden/Youngstown area also offers a winery for your enjoyment. Campden Hills State Park offers miles of trails that can take you to some of the most scenic vistas in all of Maine. If you don't want to hike it you can drive up Mt. Battie and look down into the harbor to see where the 'mountains meet the sea'. Truly breathtaking. Antiquing galore in the area both north and south. If you want to venture a bit farther to the south - a day in nearby Rockland and Owl's head will offer you lighthouse's and some great shopping and eats downtown. Within just over an hour north you can find yourself in Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park. This is a recommended trip for all. Make sure you get to the top of Mt. Cadillac to enjoy the 360 degree view from there. You will be most impressed. There is a small botanical park in Southeast Harbor called Asticou gardens that is well worth searching out for the gardening enthusiast. If you would prefer some lake activity you can find that either in Camden on Lake Megunticook or you can head out of Belfast to the China Lakes region. So many great adventures to be had.
