Stayed at the home of the Ritch’s this year while visiting Grand Cayman. The experience was wonderful. Close to restaurants, shopping areas and beaches.
The home itself was indeed very comfortable and inviting. The porch and back garden were my favorites especially in the early morning.
Would recommend it highly for a great vacation destination.
We were in Grand Cayman for my son's wedding. Many of the wedding party were at the Sunshine Suites, but we decided to rent Nicole's house with family and friends as a central meeting area since some of the festivities were at the Wharf downtown and some were at Cracked Conch in West Bay......and there were so many good reviews of this home we just went ahead and reserved. We were not disappointed at any level. First, the home is spacious and well appointed so no matter how many people are taking a shower, there is hot water. No matter if another load of laundry needs to go in...there are two washers and dryers. Two dishwashers, too! Air conditioner kept us cool when the day heated up. And a large outside yard that accommodates large parties....so Nicole's house became a meeting area most evenings. The "new" central highway makes it an easy drive between the airport, Georgetown, and the house in West Bay....though many people enjoyed the outdoors and walked instead of taking the bus or taxi, which, by the way, run right outside, making transportation sooooo easy. PLUS, the local restaurants, like Al Fresco and Heritage House are wonderful, an easy walk, and have great local Caymanian flavor. Some of the best snorkeling in the Caymans is off Cemetary Beach, a short walk away, as is diving the Kittewake from the dock at the nearby West Bay Public Beach. I have a timeshare in the Caymans near the Kirk downtown and have not spent much time in West Bay. I am so thankful that we rented Nicole's house because I never really experienced this island before without the hordes of people the cruise ships bring in, and there are so many opportunities for FUN right around the corner from the home in West Bay. Stocking up on food is easy too, at Fosters, less than a five minute walk. And I haven't even started to talk about what a nice warm, friendly, accommodating and helpful woman Nicole is. I obviously could go on and on about her and her home. But I think you get the point. You need look no further for a place to stay.
You can tell that this is a home filled with love. And a feeling of freedom and lightness. I was a hop, skip from the beach, the bank, and grocery, clothing, and beauty supply stores and thoroughly enjoyed my time in the house. I was in Grand Cayman to do a fresh juice detox and as uncomfortable as this can be for the body, I could not have been more at home in the Ritch Residence. I felt welcome and supported and my room was pretty and very comfy. Nicole is an amazing soul and I got to meet her children who are all super smart and creatively expressive, a wonderful reflection of her. Nicole's family also has a legacy of the best culinary talent on the island. A very special place with a beautiful energy. It felt open, spacious and inviting. This is a great space for groups. I was there alone but I can imagine if I were to go with a group of friends and take over the house how amazing a time we would have. I highly recommend!
I was really impressed and wasn't expecting such nice accommodations and hospitality from the owners. The owners are genuinely good people and very helpful/responsive. The house is beautiful, right on the bus route, across from the beach, super short walking distance to a large super market, bank, gas station, 24hr Subway (don't judge), and is very easy to get to. While on a main road, this place is sound proof and very quite. Every shower was great and plenty of nice bathrooms. The AC cranks and 2 washer and dryers. Boom.
I would definitely recommend this place for all types of guests. Can't beat it.
We had a wonderful stay at the Ritch Residence. The home itself is very spacious, ample bathrooms to accommodate my large group getting ready for wedding activities, etc. and great location close to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. If you want to venture further you can catch public transportation right out front. The property owner Nicole greeted us when we arrived, gave us a tour and took the time to answer all our questions. Highly recommended!
From Minnesota to the CAYMANS was definately a shock...but in the best way! A block from the beach was awesome! Weather was awesome! And the homeowners were ........AWESOME! We will definately recommended this place to all of our friends! Thank you Richie family!
The owners answered all of our queries beforehand and made us feel welcome even before we’d landed! Photos of this immaculate home are accurate – the picture of the house front made it easy to spot upon our arrival and the location is perfect: right on the main road to West Bay and across the street was a large grocery store, gas station, the Old Homestead museum, local restaurants and the beach! The owners greeted us, gave us a tour of the house and property – landscaped with delicious fruit trees and aloe, and provided a cell phone for local calls (most U.S. phones do not work there). They even took time to check with us during our stay to see if we needed anything. A short distance away is Hell, the turtle farm, Cracked Conch restaurant (with free access ladder for snorkeling- ask their friendly staff), and Barker’s Park (for the swamp-trail minded). The owners are very knowledgeable about Cayman, its attractions and restaurants. We definitely rented a car and were all over the island; there is a bus route just outside, too! It takes you to Caymana Bay and Georgetown. We were glad we picked up the tourism maps, magazines and brochures at the airport because they had a lot of great information including driving (left side of the road) with its rules and circles and how to ride the bus (which makes stops upon request between posted stands & can go off the route, too). We were able to order jerk chicken from the owner’s mother – it was the best we had, better than from a restaurant – her sauce is amazing! The kitchen was great – we’re a family of cooks; and they showed us the grill for our forays to the fish market. The ground floor bedrooms and baths were especially appreciated as some in our party have mobility issues. The kids enjoyed the electronic games and large screen TVs (when they weren’t – gasp – conversing with us!). This home is very comfortable and I recommend it to anyone (already told my friends) looking for a great location and attentive hosts! With all our compliments and appreciation!

The Al Fresco Café offers beach front dining in a casual atmosphere and serves many local dishes. The Tim Buc Tu Diner is rated as one of the top restaurants in Grand Cayman . They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take the two minute stroll over in the morning for all you can eat pancakes and a gourmet coffee. There is also a local fish fry restaurant steps away.
