The cottages have been created round the courtyard of the beautiful 19th Century.Red sandstone Steading, which has recently undergone a total renovation programme. Each cottage has been rebuilt to the highest standards of convenience and comfort while retaining the character and features of the old buildings. In addition to the landscaped courtyard with its large communal games room, each cottage has an outdoor patio with views out over the woods and fields.

They are each furnished and equipped to the highest standard with a large living area and wooden floors, a modern fully equipped kitchen a dining area and a living area with comfortable sofa beds and armchairs. All windows are double glazed with full length curtains or blinds and all are equipped with Sky TV, DVD;CD player and wifi. Each unit has a separate central heating system with ample supplies of hot water for the luxuriously fitted bathrooms and showers. There is a shared laundry and drying room with ironing.

Rowan Cottage: sleeps 2 to 4 people. The entry to the cottages is through the arch into the central court yard and each cottage has its own entrance door from the inner courtyard. Rowan is a one bedroom cottage with a King Size bed and memory mattress. The light open plan living area with its fully equipped L shaped kitchen has a large west facing window giving views across the parkland to Ben Lomond. There is a round pine dining table with dining chairs and a comfortable sitting area with a sofa bed ideally for one adult or two children. The modern bathroom is fitted with a large shower unit. The cottage is suitable for partially disabled guests with its wide doors . The Kitchen is fully equipped and has a Dishwasher, fan oven , a 4 ring ceramic hob, fridge and microwave. Rowan cottage combines the perfect blend of modern convenience within a traditional setting.

Finnich Steading cottages are perfectly placed for visitors to explore some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The Loch Lomond National Park provides a huge range of outdoor activities including water sports hiking and biking. The famous West Highalnd Way passes through charming village of Drymen a short distance away. Riding, golf on a variety of courses and fishing on the river Endrick can all be arranged. The local area provides a range of friendly pubs and small restaurants, art galleries a range of shops, and an excellent medical centre.

Glengoyne Distillery is only 3 miles away and caters for visitors seven days a week. Alternatively visitors may just want to relax in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the woodlands and countryside of the estate and the many walking paths close by. The cottages are perfect for family holidays. Children will love the freedom the grounds provide and pets are welcome if warning is given in advance.

  • The bathroom has a large corner shower cubicle with an excellent modern shower , a vanaity unit with ample storage space , a mirror cabinet and a WC. The bathroom has enough space fo a wheelchair and there is only a very small step into the corner shower .

  • The bedroom has a King size double bed with two bedsie tables a cupboard with ample hanging space and a dressing table. From a large South facing window you have the spectacular views over the fields the rolling hills and in the distance ( 30 mile ) you can see Ben Lomond. Because the steading building is set in its own grounds and the nearest public road is 2 miles away, you will have a wonderfully peaceful night . Sheep and birds will be the only sound you might hear.

Wonderful stay in an awesome cottage

It was my second stay in three years (and I simply couldn´t come back last year to stay at the Finnich cottages because the location was sold out at that time). And of course: I will be back next year (fingers crossed)....

It is a truely beautiful place to stretch your legs. The cottages are fully equipped and even if you feel that something might be missing you can always ask the owners. They are very helpful and charming.

The surroundings are gorgeous (with the stunning views, the wonderful gardens, etc.).

I recommended the place to many of my friends already and to every reader of these lines: please visit.

Sophistication and charm in an idyllic setting

A warm welcome by the owners of this beautiful property was a great start to our short break, which Marguerite arranged for my wife and I at very short notice. The website although accurate in all respects did not do justice to actually being there and experiencing what the property and surrounding area had to offer. A must for travellers regardless of mode of transport as there is so much to see and do.
The information pack is extremely informative and sets the scene for planning activities or just exploring on your own.
We would certainly recommend Finnich cottages to family and friends as the saying goes "What you see is what you get, amd more!"

Looking forward to a return visit.

The facilities are 1st class, the cottage is everything you could possibly want and Andrew and marguerite are exceptionally helpful & caring for thier guests.
We have toured Loch Lomond, the Trossacks and beyond. We would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to all our family and friends.

Rowan cottag is a perfect mixture of traditional architecture and modern way of life.We love it much.
There is nothing to be found faulty. Luxury,cleanliness, flushed of light,surrounded by a magnificent landscape, friendly hosts... great!
We regret not to have booked Rowan cottage for more than three days, but we surely will come back.

Our recent holiday in the Loch Lomond area was made complete by the excellent accomodation in the beautiful Rowan cottage. The cottage was equipped to the highest standard. It was modern, clean and exceptionally comfortable. The setting was idylic and very central for touring the surrounding areas. For those who wish to eat in, supplies were easily accessible and for those who prefer to be treated, nearby Drymen was a haven of fine eateries. Marguerite and Andrew could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It truly was a home from home.
