This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom stand alone cottage at the International Colony Club. Sleeps up to 8. (6 adults max but up to 8 including kids). The ICC is a tranquil cottage condominium complex located in Kaanapali. The ICC has lush landscaping which is continually manicured. The ICC has 44 separate cottages on 10 acres. This gives you great privacy with comfortable accommodations while still being close to the activities in Kaanapali. Our cottage is situated to have parking 40 feet away. The beach is a 10 minute walk away. There are 2 pools on the grounds. This is the place we stay when we come to Maui so we keep it nice. About the cottage: There is one king bed and 2 queen beds in the 3 bedrooms. In addition, there is a queen sleeper in the sitting area. Each bed has a memory foam mattress (if you don't like memory foam mattresses, this may not be the place for you). Each of the beds have 'dust mite/bed bug covers' so you can be assured of comfort against the critters. The 2 bathrooms were redone in 2012. The new spacious kitchen has new cabinets, granite, new appliances and is fully stocked with plates, utensils, pots and pans etc. So for those looking to cook and eat at home rather than spending a fortune at restaurants, you will be right at home. The living room has all new furniture and a 50' LCD TV with a DVD player in case you get bored with the blue water, greenery and warm sun. This cottage allows larger groups to still have their own privacy. We would like to keep the rents relatively low so people can enjoy Maui as we do without going broke. We just ask to please take good care of the cottage. Otherwise future rates may need to rise to cover costs. The following is mandated by Hawaiian Law to be included in this rental listing. If you are looking for a cost effective but real nice, spacious stand alone cottage in a quiet location but still in Kaanapali and close enough to the business of Kaanapali to be convenient. This place is for you. If you desire to be in the thick of the craziness in the center of Kaanapali, or if you want staff to cater to your needs or you wish to mortgage your house to stay there, then you really need to look elsewhere. We previously owned at the Maui Eldorado for the same reason, but we bought at the International Colony Club since they were tranquil stand alone cottages which feels more like a home rather than a condo.
The rooms are exactly as you see in the photos provided. Nicely updated home and one of only a few three bedroom units in this resort. The front bedroom has a bit more road noise from the highway, but this generally not all night (just during the rush hours). Everything you could possibly need is just 5 minutes away. Grocery shopping and great restaurants just a 5 minute drive away in Lahaina (Do try to get to Bubba Gumps for a spectacular meal while sitting at the open shutter windows where water is splashing directly below you while the sun sets...couldn't ask for a better location and meal). Really appreciated the convenience of the public beach within a 5 minute walk (parking is always at a premium on the public beaches so this was invaluable). One downside of staying in Kaanapali is the highway from the airport. Mostly single lane in both directions for about 40 miles and on weekends can be VERY slow (took us 1.25 hours on a Friday night to travel from the airport to the cottage). The house is very well stocked if you like to do your own cooking (the only thing that was missing was a bar-b-que grill brush for cleaning :)). We made good use of the beach chairs and beach towels supplied. Only found that the towels for showering and dish clothes were a bit scarce for our 7 day stay (we had 6 adults in our party). The gardens are beautiful, but the resort itself is showing its age in terms of style only though. The pool, just a 15 second walk out the back, was also very clean and a comfortable temperature (maybe even a bit warmer than the ocean was) but still, the lanai on the cottage was very private for enjoying the cooling evenings. Only potential downside for those that are squeamish is the fact that there are gecko's everywhere. They are relatively harmless, but we did find that one found its way into the house, but was only seen once and then never again. Would definitely rent here again. Owner was really good about supplying information in a timely manner and seems to be really interested in improving his guest stay. ENJOY!
Our family of 8 did a 4 island vacation in Hawaii this year. When asked which house that we rented was their favorite, the overwhelming vote was for this house. It is a very quiet place but just a block away from the main highway and all the attractions. It is on beautifully landscaped grounds with other cottages. The pool is just up a few stairs, but is blocked from view by the landscaping. You really get the impression that you are in your own private piece of paradise. There is tons to do right near the cottage, including many great snorkeling beaches, shopping, restaurants and luaus. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in Kaanapali. It was alos one of the more reasonably priced houses we rented.
