We live in Greenville SC in the burbs. Our fast pace lives begged for a get away. When we saw this mountain top we knew we were going to love this view. Morning sunrise with coffee on the deck sitting by the fireplace. We have two teenagers still at home. They love coming up on their days off and kayaking in Lake Glenville. To get ready for a week in the mountains we pack food, clothes, and toiletries. Everything else is waiting for us. That is what we wanted for future vacationers. No fuss; just walk in and make yourself at home.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2012
Due to the elevation, it is always cooler then the surrounding towns of Cashiers, Highlands, Franklin and Glenville. The view of the two south facing decks is spectacular. Sun rising over the mountain across the valley is memorable. Summer activities include hiking everywhere, rafting on nearby rivers and boating on Lake Glenville. Restaurants, art fairs, antique shops, farmer's markets and unique clothing stores in nearby towns. Fall colors are mesmerizing.
Two large open decks. Top level deck with outdoor fire place. Serene. Brand new with all hardwood floors
I can not say enough good things about the cabin and about Robin & Ron. The cabin is beautiful and CLEAN. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Amazing view from the cabin. The outdoor fireplace was probably our favorite hang out. Ron & Robin were very sweet and accommodating. They stocked us with plenty of firewood even an extra TV. Cell phone service is minimal but the wifi is great. During our stay we visited near by waterfalls, we visited Judaculla Rock, and took a drive out to Cherokee to feed bears. Awesome trip. Could not have been better! Will def. be going back. ***side note-arrive in the day time and please follow Ron's instructions up the mountain. (My husband did not and it made it very difficult to find, esp when it gets dark.)
What a gorgeous place! Thank you so much for opening up your home to us. I've rented cabins many times before and this one had so many amenities and everything is practically brand new, love the granite kitchen, keurig machine, new appliances, bose ipod player, comfortable living room and bedroom. You literally do not need to bring anything but yourselves! We really enjoyed the outdoor and indoor fireplaces. It was so nice to unwind outside, and the view of the valley and tree farms are absolutely breathtaking. Our two dogs really enjoyed sitting on the balcony with us. We golfed, had a picnic on the Blueridge Parkway, did the shops and restaurants in Highlands and even did "Gem" mining (LOL). By the way, the directions with each mile marker were right on target, excellent idea as it would be challenging without that detail so thank you very much for that. We were in a car and the road was not bad but I agree that if you get there the first night, you should try and be there before nightfall. We will definitely be back! Thank you Robin and Ron!
This is our 2nd stay at the home. To be honest my wife and I were looking to rent a different home next year just for a change. We looked at several homes while in the mountains last week. We had such a hard time just getting the people to call us back. Nothing we saw came close to the view, quality of the home and all the nice amenities. So we have already booked the cabin next season for our 3rd stay. Dealing with Ron and Robin is such a pleasure and that makes for a great experience.
The cabin is well stocked, plenty of firewood and the bedding is great. The outside porch fireplace is hard to beat! It is a little secluded being on top of the mountain but the views are breathtaking. All the side roads coming up the mountain also makes for great hiking right in your backyard. It is just a great place to relax and enjoy the mountains!
My husband and I stayed at this cabin for four days and loved every minute of it! The cabin is nicely decorated and is very comfortable. We had looked at several places to rent in the area, but we were sold on this one because of the incredible deck with the fireplace and wonderful view. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the deck each day, and spent an entire rainy day reading and playing games in front of the fire. The cabin is tucked away in the woods, yet it is convenient to both Highlands and Cashiers. It is in the perfect location for exploring the area's waterfalls as well. We could not have chosen a more perfect hideaway for our trip!
We had a wonderful three nights in this well appointed cabin with it's amazing view from the deck of the valley below. The view seemed to change constantly as the clouds or fog drifted by. A sunrise is not to be missed. We have rented a number of homes from Napa to NC beaches and this is the first one that has provided so many basics in the kitchen (including sharp knives) and staples that we would normally have had to pack and that was such a pleasant experience. The description given here by the owner is not exaggerated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
The house is very nicely decorated and comfortable with wonderful views from the deck of other mountaintops and the valley far below. The fireplace on the deck was really nice since the evenings were chilly. The listing photos of the house are completely accurate and the house has many extras provided such as basic cooking supplies. We really enjoyed our week and went hiking on several days, fly fishing and white water rafting on the Nantahala. It was a great escape from summertime in the hot city!
