Hello Guests,

I have owned this charming home for quite some time and find the location to be perfect for an active lifestyle. I live in Boise and enjoy all that the city has to offer. I have a brother that has a home on VRBO, located in the city of Toronto. He has many international quests coming in all year and has enjoyed sharing his home and meeting so many wonderful people, that it has inspired me to do the same thing.

Kay Vetsch purchased this house in 1997

I chose this property because I love the Historical District. Every house on the street is uniquely designed and it's wonderful to take long walks around the neighborhood and just look at the architecture. The proximity to downtown and the great outdoors you cannot beat. It's like living downtown, but you have a quiet neighborhood at the same time.

I fell in love with the front porch and the tree lined street. I spent many evenings sitting and reading there. The afternoon sunlight fills the home with warmth and many friends have commented on how cute and welcoming it is.

Great neighborhood!

  • 4 of 5
Hyde Park is an older hoppin' neighborhood. The weather was perfect, which was great for open air eating, walking, bicycling and more. We felt very safe there. The house was great for our family. Younger kids may not want to sleep downstairs, but it was really nice to have a second bathroom down there. The location is close to everything. The house was clean but older and full of character. We spent a lot of time on the front porch watching all of the cyclists, dog walkers and runners. Boise is a gem of a city.

Charming ....

  • 5 of 5
We reserved this place because we had two families coming in for a wedding and, since we lived in different states, it gave us a place to socialize as well as sleep. We loved being able to hang out the porch and enjoy each other's company. The North End was charming ... and, thanks to the awesome shade canopy, felt much cooler than the upper 90s. The home was clean, well furbished, and decorated very cute. We loved that Hyde Park was only a couple of minute's walk and that the park was so close by as well. We will look for it again when we visit our home town.

Pros and cons

  • 3 of 5
Initial impression was not good as we had difficulty with the electronic lock, would recommend simple key entry, Front of the house, especially porch was very nice, back yard not at all. Same for inside, upper floor fine, bedroom downstairs should be described as in the basement for full disclosure. The house was not as clean as I would expect (specifically oven and microwave), especially since charging a cleaning fee. Overall average but the house has lots of potential.

Absolute positive is the proximity to Hyde Park and downtown. It was great to be able to walk a few blocks for dining. Also, Camel's Back Park a fun place to visit.

Fantastic place to stay in Hyde Park!!!

  • 5 of 5
Hyde Park is probably the cutest neighborhood in the US! This home is right in the heart of it.....you can walk to coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream shops...you name it and its all close by. It is about a 15 min walk to downtown and about a 5 min bike ride. I stayed here with my wife and son and it was great! There are plenty of healthy/organic food markets around so you can save some money and stay in to eat if needed. There is also laundry in the basement which is great if you have kids and need to do a load or two while on vacation. Kay left out toys for my son to play with which was fantastic. I would for sure stay here again next time I am in Boise!

Cute but neglected.

  • 3 of 5
This was a cute house in a cute location. At first site, it seemed like a great place to stay. After looking around, we noticed how neglected the house is. The bathroom walls had black spots all over them, we thought mold at first. The blinds are so dirty and the 4th bedroom and 2nd bathroom are in the musty smelling basement. My kids slept on the floor because they didn't want to be down there. The molding was removed in places and had bug control issues. I loved being able to walk downtown and "play." It just needs to be cleaned up a bit. I felt like with the cleaning fee, it should have been taken care of better!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Boise. We did some great mtn biking and really helpful being so close to Camels Back park. Nice being so close to 13th Street (Historical District) for restaurants etc. The house was outfitted nicely and yes the front deck was lovely to sit at. The backyard would be nice too but needed a little work. As the weather improves I'm sure the backyard will be ready. Would love to come again.
