Our family has lived and worked in the Rutherford area for over a century. Four generations of family members have been involved in the wine and vineyard industry. The saga began in 1906, when Joseph Ponti arrived from Italy as a stone mason to help rebuild San Francisco after the earthquake. But a series of serendipitous events brought Joe to the Napa Valley to begin a long career at Beaulieu Vineyards, eventually becoming this famed winery's general manager and winemaker.
Our family has continued Joseph Ponti's legacy, growing grapes for some of the Napa Valley's most prestigious wineries.
This treasured property has been in the family for three generations. Joseph Ponti, the family's Napa Valley founder, lived on this street for over fifty years. When he first moved here, the house was already 'old,' dating back to the mid-1800s. Our commitment to preserving what makes the Napa Valley the amazing place it is moved us to spend over two years carefully renovating and restoring this house of family memories. While upgrading with modern amenities, we used as much of the mid 19th-century wood and trim as we could. We hope you share our pride in seeing this classic Napa Valley vineyard home dressed in comfort and style, ready to stand for at least another three generations!
