Totally relax and unwind at lovely Holly’s Beach Folly.
Wake up to a gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea; Buck Island; the dancing moored boats; smooth sandy beach, and the St. Croix Yacht Club. You are so close to the Caribbean that you can hear the waves on the shore, watch pelicans flying and diving, see the sandy beach beneath the turquoise sea, watch tarpon from the shore, and lazily swim or snorkel right off your beach. Nearby charters sail you out to Buck Island for snorkeling and a relaxing day at the beaches, or will take you deep-sea fishing, in-shore fishing, kayaking, or let you rent your own day-sailer. Holly's Beach Folly is located on the beach, just west and adjacent to the St. Croix Yacht Club. This Villa features 3 master bedroom suites with 3 baths, a large free form pool and of course, the beautiful white sand beach just steps from the villa.
The open concept great room with a rock wall back-drop flows into the dining room with seating for up to 8 that is in front of the fully equiped kitchen. Don't want to cook? Then head out to a number of local restaurants that are close by - DIVI Starlight, Good Spirits BBQ, Ziggy's Quick Stop, Blue Water Terrace, Duggan's Reef for steaks and seafood or the Cultured Pelican for great Italian food.
The main floor continues with a master suite on the right containing a king bed/bathroom and a second bedroom/bathroom suite on the left featuring a view of the Contessa's Castle and containing two twin beds which can be combined for another king bed. The third master bedroom/bathroom suite is up a circular staircase, featuring a king bed, deep soaking tub with a garden view, and a nice sitting/patio deck facing the water with seating for much coveted quiet time, morning coffee, or a fine sunrise/sunset watch.
Just got back and could not be more happy. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners (we got in a little early) who could not be more nice. Just steps down from an amazing house is fantastic snorkeling on what seems your own beach. From lion fish hunting to the turtles, and not to leave out the most star fish I have ever seen (and I have been to many islands) you will not be let down. The beach turns into your own little private piece of heaven. In over a week we saw no one else on our beach. The sand is even fantastic.
Super close to the local hang outs where you can have some cheap (but great) drinks with the locals as well as stores to get food.
The house could not be more clean as well and well kept.
Back yard grilling, sitting on the beach or by the pool; you just can stay there. But you are not a 10 min drive from the "city" for brunch and everything else.
We had one weather/wind related problem (not the owners fault) that they had fixed fast by US standards let alone the same day. (they fixed the issue the same day). The relator also makes sure you are ok as well but do not bother you once you are settled.
I really just can not say enough about the fun I had on the island. And Holly's made my stay just fantastic. I can not thank them enough for just a fantastic stay and an amazing house.
My wife and I stayed at this gem for a week last winter with two other couples. What a find! Very comfortable, very well equipped, great location central to everything, and yet it feels very remote with your own beach area and magnificent private views. Very close to spectacular beach combing, hiking, a fun little golf course right across the road, we can’t think of anything bad to say about our experience there.
Clearly the owners enjoy taking good care of their house and the grounds. Beautiful tropical plants, bushes and trees abound.
We will definitely be returning and hopefully very soon.
We stayed at this beautiful villa July 2013 for 1 1/2 weeks. It has an extremely comfortable feel to it. The views in the rooms are spectacular. It is in very good condition and is well decorated. It feels very private, you don't see other homes from inside and outside you just see the yacht club. It is very unusual in St. Croix to find a beach front property. The sandy beach with 2 chairs had some shade and was a great place to relax and read. The water is a bit grassy and slightly rocky. The pool area is beautiful and inviting. There is afternoon shade and plenty of recliners. The kitchen is extremely well appointed, one could prepare any meal there. the beds were very comfortable. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms. In the main house by opening all the windows you get a very comfortable cross breeze. The windows have screens so we did not have any problems with bugs. I would recommend this house to anyone! Sharon who does the property management is extremely helpful and knows the island really well. I hope to stay here again!
My husband and I stayed at Holly’s Beach Folly the last week in May and I am convinced that it is the absolute best value on the entire island of St. Croix. We’ve stayed all over the Caribbean and this home was the most wonderful retreat we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The owners have really thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. The proximity to the ocean can’t be beat and it offers a view of Buck Island along with the many boats in the marina. The entire property is meticulously landscaped with a beautiful variety of flowers everywhere. We enjoyed the generous outside patios every night and listened to the ocean waves while sipping our favorite cocktails. There is a variety of exterior lighting to choose from and the lighted pool made evening swims a real treat. The interior was spotless, spacious and tastefully decorated. We very much appreciated the upscale appliances—a Bosch dishwasher and real pots and pans—all with matching clear lids. Plus, the dishware and glassware was well above rental-grade and plentiful. I can see where this would be the perfect property for several couples or a large family…there would be more than enough of everything for everyone. There would be plenty of towels and seating for a large group--I counted—there were 14 chairs in the pool area alone and the loungers were very nice with hotel type puffy cushions. They even provided us with pool floaties! The location was excellent as well—we were minutes away from top-notch restaurants and I can whole heartedly recommend Blue Water Terrace Restaurant and The Galleon. We also took the sailing tour to Buck Island through Captain Heinz and his location was only 10-15 minutes away. The Casino was also very close and just a short drive away. We made our rental arrangements through Sharon Early and she answered all my emails promptly and was friendly and easy to deal with. The property is easy to get to from the airport and we felt very safe for our entire stay. As I mentioned earlier, we have stayed at so many locations on so many islands we kind of feel like expert vacationers…we’re not millionaires but we sure felt like it for a week at Holly’s Beach Folly. Don’t pass up this property; it’s worth every penny and then some. Sharon has my permission to share my email—feel free to contact me if you would like more details and pictures.
