We have lived in the Rochester area our whole life and have always enjoyed the outdoors.
James Gocker,Manager purchased this house in 2011
Our family has vacationed in the Adirondacks for many years. We fell in love with the High Peaks area and were fortunate to acquire Rock Meadow Lodge in 2011. Since then, we have had wonderful family times making the Lodge into our home and enjoying the mountains, our children and our grandchildren. There is nothing like the peacefulness of the mountains and adventures to be found in the Adirondacks to make for great family vacation.
We were taken by Rock Meadow Lodge because of its central location, peaceful setting, acres to explore and the mountains to be seen.
My family and a few friends spent a week at Rock Meadow Lodge and had a wonderful time.
I highly recommend the house for its layout, amenities, location and private setting.
It is obvious how much the owners love this place because it is so well cared for.
I felt comfortable there from the moment I walked in and hope to rent the lodge again sometime in the future.
At the risk of having too many people book this marvellous spot, I will give an honest review! :)
We are a group of hikers from Ontario, Canada and have chosen the Adirondacks for our Canadian Thanksgiving. It's an awesome place with incredible colours and superb hiking so what better venue than here.
We walked into Rock Meadow Lodge and the home seemed to go on and on. With 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, we were able to spread out and be able to have our private spaces, but come together in the common areas. The dining room table seats 10 or 12 people and is made out of a single piece of wood. The kitchen is spacious and up to date and fully supplied with everything you could ask for. The bedrooms are also spacious and there is even an additional living room upstairs if one wants to get away and read quietly. The outside decks are fantastic to and while it was a bit cold to sit out, we did get in a few minutes outside after a hike one day. The owners have thought of every possible convenience and accessories to make one feel like they were right at home. There was even a washer and dryer plus an additional fridge. The property was spotlessly clean too. There were way too many features to list here. But bottom line is Wow!
I have rented many properties over the years and this one certainly tops them all. We will surely return again and can't thank Jim and Julie enough for allowing folks like us to rent the property. And also thankyou for the wonderful maple syrup you left for us. It was well enjoyed!
Our family spent a week at Rock Meadow Lodge in August. We were excited about this venture and pleased that our expectations were exceeded. The location of the lodge in the high peaks area of the ADKS is easily accessible and glorious. Hiking, swimming and boating opportunities are nearby as is the engaging village of Lake Placid with its olympic venues to enjoy. A trip up Whiteface Mountain in the gondola is not to be missed. We were helped in planning our days by the plethora of information about the area that the owners made available. The lodge was perfect for a family gathering of 10. Each family had their own bedrooms and bathroom to share. The large family, living and dining rooms were great for our crowd. We loved cooking in the large well appointed kitchen, grilling on the back deck and making s'mores at the fire pit under the stellar ADK sky.
Not only is this property clean, well maintained and comfortable, it is gorgeous. The beautifully handmade tables throughout and obvious attention to every detail were evident. Our every need was anticipated. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to spend some time in this beautiful state park area.
This past weekend my wife and I went up to the Adirondack Mountains with some friends and stayed at the Rock Meadow Lodge just outside of Keene. We honestly could not have had a better time here. The lodge is absolutely amazing and is in the perfect location for every kind of activity. There are tons of great hikes a few miles away and the owner Jim has even built a short loop trail behind the lodge. The area is also amazing for rock climbing and had some great creeks and small lakes near by if you feel like a cold swim. For us the lodge was perfect. We were a small group, but the lodge could have easily slept more. One of the best parts for me was the big kitchen and dinning room table. We had a blast grilling out every night and eating big dinners together. The property itself is also a HUGE plus. The patio out front is perfect for relaxing and we had a blast playing bocce ball in the yard. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. The owners Jim and Julie could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Jim even recommended some wonderful local hikes for us. We absolutely will be returning to this wonderful place...hopefully soon.
The Lodge is located in the midst of the Adirondack High Peaks. Lake Champlain is just 30 minutes to the east and the ferry to Vermont is 45 minutes away.
We are just 20 minutes from all that Lake Placid has to offer, including great restaurants, shopping, cinema,Mirror Lake for swimming, boating and tennis. The Olympic venues are all close by. A trip to John Brown's Farm is to see history up close. Whiteface Mountain is 12 miles away and the drive up Memorial Highway should not be missed.
On Sundays in the summer local crafts and farm fresh products are found at the farmers market at Marcy Field in Keene Valley, just 5 miles away.
We are close to the popular Jack Rabbit Trail and not far from Adirondack Rock and River Guide Service. They provide guides and instruction in many mountain related activities.
