Fantastic weekend retreat
I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage last weekend while I went to the island to explore permanent housing possibilities. It’s tucked away in the most tranquil setting imaginable, in a wooded area on a large waterfront property, yet it is just a few steps away from the main street of town. Everything is easily accessible - all the shops, restaurants, galleries, the kayak rental is right next door. The famous Salt Spring Farmers Market which happens every Saturday is about a 2 minute walk from the cottage. But after a day out and about in town, I could come back to enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea in the serenity of the back porch, under the canopy of magnificent cedars and Douglas firs listening to the sounds of the stream gurgling by and birds in the trees. Inside, the bed is luxurious, the kitchen is well equipped and the living room is open and roomy, big enough to entertain friends for an evening of hanging out. It is truly a gem of a place to stay on the island.
