SPECTACULAR GULF-FRONT COTTAGE LOCATED ON BEAUTIFUL WHITE-SAND BEACH

Alligator Point Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Cottage Directly On Private, (Sleeps 4-6) White-Sand Beach

Completely renovated Gulf-front/beach-front cottage allows you to rest or play as much as you want and literally get away from it all. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the screened porch that will make you feel like you're on a luxury cruise ship plying the tropics. Walk the beach from one end to the other collecting sea shells or swimming or sunbathing.

The home is smartly and comfortably furnished. The bathroom allows you to take a shower while looking out to the Gulf and beach. Bedroom furniture is relaxing and new. Prepare meals in the kitchen while gazing out to the Gulf and sparkling white-sand beach or while visiting with family on the screened porch or in the living room.

Home is a perfect get-away for major holidays or an FSU football game. Or drop a child off at an FSU camp while you and your spouse stay a week at the beach! The cottage is great for a family of four or two couples. Relax and do nothing but watch dolphins and walk the beach or fish or jet ski or play golf nearby or go antiquing at nearby towns (Carrabelle, Crawfordville, Apalachicola) and of course, come to eat the best and freshest seafood in the world!

Was first introduced to Alligator Point by local friends from Tallahassee in the mid-1990's and have been coming to Alligator Point every year since for the Memorial Day Weekend Captain Jack Fishing Tournament that is held at the Alligator Point Marina. By the way, you must visit the End Of The World Oasis at Alligator Point Marina and have a deep fried Grouper sandwich -- the absolute best! And if you catch it, they'll even fry it up fresh!

Chris purchased this cottage in 2011

Because of my familiarity with Alligator Point and the many good times I've had here, decided to finally buy a home. After visiting several homes, all it took was one time out on the screened porch of my cottage to know that this was the place. I always feel like I'm right over the Gulf when sitting on the screened porch. And not only are the sunsets spectacular, but nights with a full moon are also just as stunning!

The views of the gulf and the beach are priceless not to mention the times that I've been able to sit on the screened porch sipping my favorite beverage and actually watch dolphins swim almost onto the beach as they feed in the very shallow water. Absolutely beautiful!

We loved the seclusion and the the beauty of the area. The beach house exceeded our expectations and so much detail went in to our comfort and daily needs. Chris answered all our questions and was a terrific person to deal with. The deposit refund came quickly and capped off a wonderful week at the beach!

WE enjoyed our stay in spite of the cooler than normal weather. the house is nicely furnished and decorated. It was cleaned very well. The beach house overlooks the beach and so there were lots of opportunities to watch dolphins fishing, Pelicans, an Osprey and lots of shore birds. We walked the beach daily and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a problem with the heat pump but the owner had a repair man replace the fan as soon as possible. I would caution users not to try to swim at the beach directly in front of the house as there was a good deal of broken concrete hidden under normal tides which was only exposed at very low tides.

WE enjoyed the many historic and natural sites within an hour of Alligator Point.

Dolphins!!!

I had read previous reviews that said they saw dolphins while staying here, so I was hopeful. We stayed for a week and saw at least one dolphin every day except one right after a night storm. The dolphin that jumped all the way out of the water on my birthday really made my day! There was also one that came all the way up to the beach before swimming back out to deeper water. Other wildlife that we saw while driving near this beach house the week we stayed here: coyote, deer, armadillo (a live one!), and a white squirrel. One day there were large jellyfish on the beach at low tide. During low tide there is a sandbar that is exposed and connects to the beach. My husband enjoyed beach combing there. There were also many shore birds.

The house itself is nice and well-kept. We had some minor issues during our stay, and the owner was fairly responsive. For cell phone users, Verizon service was intermittent; AT&T was more steady. There is a landline and internet available.

Sunrises and sunsets were psychedelic. I have no better way to describe them.

We brought groceries from Tallahassee and Crawfordville (midway between Tallahassee and Alligator Point). I would not recommend coming here and expecting to eat out for every meal. It is not near any kind of strip with restaurants, shopping, etc. as far as we could tell. It IS near Bald Point State Park, and I highly recommend visiting this secluded beach. Both times that we went, we were the only ones there!

My husband and son did some canoeing down the Wakulla River (they saw manatees!) and boat fishing on St. Mark's River during our stay.

If you love nature, quiet, reading a book on the deck to the sound of waves breaking with the setting sun shining on you, you won't be disappointed.

We wanted to escape the crowds and noise and this place was great for that. Very quiet and relaxing. Loved the screened-in porch. The house was clean and well maintained. The owner was very thorough in answering our questions. We ate at Posey's Dockside and Tropical Traders and both were great. Overall a great stay.

Alligator Point - The FORGOTTEN Part of Florida

My wife and I spent 10 simply stunning days and nights at Chris' Alligator Point home. The home is EVERYTHING that is was advertised to be .... and MORE! The home is exceptionally clean and in excellent contition. One can prepare meals and look out of the big kitchen window that overlooks the Gulf. While eating at the dining table, you may also watch the views of the Gulf through the French doors that lead to the big screened in porch. We LOVE the screened in porch that allows a 180 degree view of the Gulf of Mexico. We spent many hours there watching the gulls and the pelicans along with a variety of other shore birds hunt for their meals. The sound of the waves coming ashore lulled us into much relaxation and even a few naps. We found a lot of shells on the beach especially at low tide in the afternoons. The night sky allows one to view so many more stars that is not possible to see in most urban and surburban settings due to light pollution. We did experience Tropical Storm Andrea which came ashore a bit east of Alligator Point but did wash the beach with high waves and brought 50-60 MPH winds. The home is very well contructed and dealt well with the high winds that Andrea brought its way. DO NOT GO HERE AND EXPECT AN ABUNDANCE OF NIGHT LIFE! The only dancing you may do is on the fabulous beach where you may not see but 2 or 3 other humans in a given day. We ate at several places around the area that we would highly recommend: Big Daddy's Pizza and BBQ in Panacea, Hamaknockers BBQ in Panacea and The Fisherman's Wife in Carrabelle. The food was excellent in all three restaurants. Big Daddy's Pizza and BBQ is mainly carry out but has only one indoor booth for his customers but does have two tables on the front sidewalk and an outdoor area with picnic tables for dining. Jim, the owner, has done a great job and put a lot of thought into his pizza and BBQ restaurant. We WILL return to Alligator Point!! For us, the home was the PERFECT getaway!! In fact, we have already tentatively laid plans to return next year! THANKS Chris for sharing your "jewel" on Alligator Point with us!!

Located just South of Tallahassee, Alligator Point is a non-commercial beach made up of single family vacation homes. There are no commercial enterprises(other than the marina) on the peninsula. Most the time you feel like you have a private beach all to yourself. It's like taking a step back in time.

There is ample wildlife to observe, miles of beach to explore and close to restaurants and shopping. The fishing is great right off the beach or on any number of charter boats in nearby Panacea or Carrabelle. It is adjacent to a State Park and federal wildlife area with picnic areas and hiking trails. Also, Wakulla Springs State Park, the Panacea Gulf Aquarium and the pre-Civil War port town of Apalachicola are all terrific day trips.
