Lovely quiet Cottage just a short walk from the Beach
I fell in love with this place online while searching for places to stay near Santa Barbara. The cottage is just as it is in the pictures, set on a hill off of a very quiet street. The inside of the cottage is beautiful and very functional. We stayed in the house with a group of five, two couples and a baby and although the cottage is not very large, everyone had plenty of space and we were very comfortable. Our favorite part of the stay was sitting out on the large patio having a glass of wine or a meal. There is an abundance of good food produce available in Santa Barbara so several nights, we just stayed in and cooked. There are a couple of nice local spots to eat in Summerland as well. We tried Cafe Luna and the Summerland Cafe and enjoyed both of them very much. Summerland in general is a small beach town that is not very touristy. There are a couple of boutiques, cafes, antique shops, spas, etc. in the town as well as the Summerland Beach Shack where you can pick up souvenirs and beach necessities. There is a lot to do in Santa Barbara as well as the surrounding areas. We took two day trips to wine country which was very accessible from Summerland. The owners of the cottage were really great, making sure that we had recommendations on where to go, what to do, places to eat, and all sorts of other advice to make the most of our time in Summerland. Our rental transaction was also very smooth and straightforward with the owners being very responsive to questions that I sent via e-mail before and during our stay. I hope that we'll get to come to Summerland again soon and we would definitely stay at the cottage again.
