FAMILY FRIENDLY MOUNTAIN ESCAPE FOR OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS/NEAR THE PONDS

Bolton Chalet Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Loft, Open Ceiling, Great Kitchen In The Woods And Waterfalls

We have a rustic mountain home nestled on the side of Stimson Mountain on 25 owned acres and 4,000 explorable acres. We are a comfortable home for 4-6 adults or adults and kids. Your neighbors are waterfalls, hiking trails, swimming holes, ski trails and biking routes... amazing solitude with clean and fast technology makes this house especially equipped to provide you with all the peace and connectivity on a human scale. The water is Vermont well water and is the best you will ever taste. Swimming, cliff jumping, skiing, hiking, mountaineering, biking, rock climbing await immediately! A wood burning stove keeps you cozy in the winter and the breeze at 1500 feet cools you in the summer. You will witness amazing mountain sunsets from the deck and astonishing amounts of wildlife out the back door. With three great bedrooms and a loft with a pull out couch, cathedral ceilings in the living and dining room, wood burning stove and great cooking kitchen this is truly a mountain escape worthy of the most energetic explorers who love to relax after a big day in the outdoors.

Our home is 2.5 miles from the Bolton Valley Ski Resort and 1 mile to the Wedding and Event Pavilion called 'The Ponds at Bolton Valley' and Timberline Lift.

We are 25 minutes from major airports, ferry's, trains and Burlington, Vermont's crown jewel and the true live music capital of the Northeast (That's right NYC and Boston - eat your heart out). Burlington and Vermont are a locals paradise so if you're a visitor your in for a treat. Come experience the dozens of restaurants that have been using local ingredients well before it was ever a catch phrase to do so. Head over to Ben and Jerry's and see where the worlds best ice cream started or go check out Nectar's in Burlington where Phish got their start. There's VT Teddy Bear, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Green Mountain Chocolates and many more local, great companies that add vitality and excitement to an already vibrant scene.

If you want more excitement head to Burlington for a great dinner, catch a show at the renowned Flynn Theater, walk the shores of Lake Champlain - check out Echo Museum and Aquarium on the water or just stroll around and check out the sites on the world famous pedestrian walkway that is Church Street. Burlington gives you all the big city you need in a Vermont Village type of way.

Of course if it's Vermont Village you're looking for Waterbury and Richmond are 6-8 miles in opposite directions at the bottom of the Access Road and each has it's own small town charm. Come see what a real local economy looks and functions like; you will find locally owned bars/breweries, restaurants, snack shops, bakeries and bars as well as farmer's markets, schools, churches and a real, honest to goodness community of people who will be glad to see you.

For some more adventure by car you can head to Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glenn with only about a 40 minute drive for amazing skiing and outdoor life.

It doesn't matter what season you come - there is always a festival of some sort happening every weekend so get out and experience the sites and enjoy the ride while you're at it.

If you're a biker, welcome to heaven. If you're a hiker, welcome to the oldest continuous footpath in the US, The Long Trail. Skiers... it's obvious, you've arrived, whether hitting the back-country and enjoying the moose and the 300+ inches of snow annually. Rock Climbers and Boulder-ers - they call Bolton 'The Land of Boulders and Bears' and it's true. You'll find giant boulders everywhere and heavy cliffs to climb winter or summer.

So don't miss this place, you'll never want to leave. We love it because it's truly a Vermont Experience and we want to share that with you.

Welcome!

We are a family of three. Mother, Father and Son. We love to play in the woods and water and snow around our home. We love to explore the waterfalls and the land we live on. We aspire to gardening and business and we love to share things we love...and we love our home in Vermont.

Sally purchased this chalet in 2006

Growing up in the area I used to drive by this house on my way to ski. I never imagined I would live here and now that I do, I want to share it with others. It's such a magical place. The locals call it the Half-Way House because it's half-way between the top and the bottom. It's a True Vermont Experience

Everyone who stays says they get the best sleep they've ever had and that the water is like nothing they've ever experienced. It's an outdoor enthusiasts dream, a kids play land and a couples retreat.

Comfortable, Clean, Fully stocked home, Great outdoors!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at the house was great. We found the place very clean and in excellent condition. The house is equipped with plenty of linens and towels as well as most household items. The rooms were large and airy. The outdoors of this house are amazing. There is a large wooded area in the back with a stream running through it - great for hiking. We enjoyed the grill as well as a separate fire pit (nice for roasted marshmallows!) We appreciated all of these perks.

Nice relaxing time

  • 4 of 5
This was a wonderful place to stay for my parents and I. Directions were laid out for us from the start. Everthing from what linen fit what bed to what, and what was a personal item or free for use. They even had simple pantry items for use as well.
Unfortunately the house is on a very busy street, but the plus side is that the famous Bolton Potholes were right down the road. Easy access to tourist things such as Ben and Jerry's, glass blowing, the Cider Mill, and two grocery stores.
I would recommend this to older people who are looking for the escape of city life.

Wonderful vacation getaway

  • 5 of 5
This house was cozy, clean, and has a very well stocked kitchen as far as cooking tools, spices, etc. The owners were very helpful before and after making sure every part of the stay and transaction was smooth. We even built a snow cave in the front yard. A huge plus for us was that it was within 2 miles of Bolton Quarry which is the location of gorgeous ice climbing. We climbed there twice. So much fun!

We stayed for the MLK weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and great for family or friend together. We were also lucky to have two powder day skiing at Bolton Valley, just 5 min driving. I would highly recommend this property!

Excellent stay

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The place was very comfortable and it's ideal for ski trips. Sally was awesome and answered all our questions. Everything was clean and there's a great selection of books in the library. I would definitely go back.

Great vacatioon home!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful week in Vermont in this home! It was centrally located to all of our events. The home is extremly comfortable and well equipped! We even made lobster one evening! It comfortably slept 6 adults and a 2 year old!
We experienced the peak of the Vermont colors which was unbelievable and saw a black bear on the way to the ski area the first morning! Really exciting!
I would highly reccomend this property!
