Great place right on the beach
We loved this place. Spacious bed, very nicely decorated room and bathroom, clean, drinking water provided, peaceful neighbourhood with lush trees and plants. Unlike the previous reviewer, we didn't have any problems with wi-fi; it is not available in the casita itself though, you have to go to the beach palapa. The staff were wonderful: the receptionist patiently answered all our questions, gave useful guidance and really tried to be helpful. A few tips I'd like to give: when you go into the water at the condo beach, it's all rather sharp rocks, so a pair of aqua shoes would be very useful; there are a few places to eat nearby, but neither is open for breakfast (there are cafes that serve breakfast in downtown Akumal, but it's a rather long walk from the condo - about 20-30 minutes); the grocery stores and supermarkets in Akumal have a very poor product range and are overpriced, so if you can, buy your food in Playa del Carmen on your way to Akumal. From Luna Azul you can easily walk to Yal-ku lagoon (about 15-20 minutes). However, if you want to explore the surroundings and catch a collectivo on the highway, the walk from the condo to the highway will be a bit too long (30 minutes minimum).
