NEW FAMILY COTTAGE

Mackinaw City Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, sleeps 6

This cottage was beautifully renovated from top to bottom in 2013 and is now available for rent. It is spacious, will sleep 6 and features 2 bedrooms plus a sleeping porch. It also has 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. The kitchen/ dining area is roomy and has a nice island and cook top. It is large enough to accommodate your large group. Tastefully decorated with attention to every detail, the cottage exudes warmth and comfort. It comes complete with everything you need to enjoy a wonderful vacation in Mackinaw. It is located 1 block from Lake Michigan and a short walk to Mackinaw City. You can walk to the Mackinac Bridge, Fort Michillimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, and to the restaurant/shopping area of downtown. They say “location is everything” and you won’t find a better location to enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer.

If you are interested in star-gazing, the cottage is located just 3 minutes from the Headlands - recently designated as a 'DARK SKY PRESERVE' - one of only 10 locations in the USA! This is given to a few special areas that are free of artificial light. The night sky is breathtakingly beautiful!

In the winter, you can be on the slopes of Nubs Knob or Boyne Mountain in less than 30 minutes. If you prefer snow-shoeing or x-country skiing, the area offers the Headlands, Wilderness State Park or Mill Creek - all minutes away. The beautiful Mackinaw to Midland snowmobile/bike trail is easily accessed from the driveway of the cottage. Interested in a little more adventure? Try a dog-sled ride through the wilderness from a local musher! Also a great base-camp for hunters.

In the spring, birdwatchers gather from all over the country to catch a glimpse of the incredible hawk migration. You can view it from the spacious yard!

In the summer, you can be soaking up the sun on one of Lake Michigan’s most beautiful sandy beaches in 3 minutes. Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Historic Fort Michilimackinac and the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse are all within walking distance – as is Shepler’s Ferry dock – the ultimate transportation to Mackinac Island.

In the fall, take the color tour through the “tunnel of trees” or enjoy spectacular scenery in the Upper Peninsula, an easy drive across the mighty Mackinac Bridge. There’s nothing quite like the sound of bugling elks during mating season at Pigeon River or the mysterious call of the loon on a quiet lake. It’s all here! Hunt, fish, hike, canoe, bike – you can do it all or you can just relax by the cozy fireplace with a good book.

We are able to offer cottage accommodations to sleep up to 35 people. With 8 cottages to choose from, this is the perfect location for wedding parties, family reunions or other small gatherings. If you're planning a Mackinac Island wedding and need accommodations for your guests, we have the perfect solution. Cottages are now available. Enjoy charming cottages, all with fully equipped kitchens (some even include a washer/dryer), screened-in porch, picnic area and firepits for evening campfires with friends and family - all a stones throw from the Mackinac Island ferries. Call us for more information.

A great place to stay in Mackinaw City

We were very pleased with our stay here. Everything was very clean and the set up of the cottage met the needs of three families. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. The location was great and easy to find- it was close to the bridge, ferries, and downtown shops. The decor was fresh and enjoyable. It was easy to feel at home. The photos mirrored what we saw when we arrived. My little granddaughter especially loved sleeping in the loft. My daughter enjoyed the sleeping porch. The Michigan pastie store nearby made for an easy supper after visiting the Fort on the mainland. That was very interesting and could be enjoyed by any age group. I would easily recommend this property to friends and family members. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been closer to the water, but we loved it, just the same.

Wonderful stay at this property, this house was charming with such adorable decorations! Very clean and felt like home! This is a great property for a group of two couples or a family with children. No view of water or anything scenic but a great location for accessing downtown macinaw city and a short bike ride to the water! Very short ride to the bridge as well. Wonderful stay and would happily stay again! :)

We loved our stay in this 3 bedroom cottage in Mack City!! Every little nook and cranny was darling. It is very apparent as you walk in the door that the owners have put their heart and soul and so much charm into this little get-away. It is in a god location- walking/biking distance from shopping and the water!! Perfect size for two couples and there was even more room with the sleeping porch and twin size beds in the loft!! We would love to return in the future!!

*NEW* to vacation rental - perfect first experience!

I was very apprehensive about renting a vacation property for my first time - but I really wanted an up north, cottage feel and not just another boring hotel visit. This cottage was advertised perfectly - and the property was clean, charming, and with lots of little extras (like the bikes, campfire pit, and kayaks for the kids to use). Dealing with Diane was so easy - she replied to my endless questions and pointed me to the best cabin for our needs. Close enough to downtown to walk or ride bikes for all of Mackinaw's favorite attractions. Will definitely be renting from this manager again - when we find ourselves heading up to Mackinaw again.

Best place in Mackinaw City for a Family

We had the pleasure of staying at this place for a few days on a family vacation to Mackinaw Island. The newly updated cabin gave us a feel of what a cabin should: relaxation, comfort, and family. My children loved sleeping in the loft, my mother, sister and I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and my husband and father enjoyed the bonfire pit. Every room was updated tastefully --Pottery Barn - up north version! We would definately return to this place - worth every penny. We considered staying on the Island originally but I am so glad we decided to stay a (little bit) off the path. We walked down the street to the public access at night for swimming overlooking the bridge and there was a grocery store walking distance for last minute wine runs. Access to the ferry was walking distance as well.
The communication with the owner/property manager was professional and friendly as well.
