Perfect Rental! Excellent stay here!!

This was my first time renting with home away and I had an awesome experience! The property managers of this apartment were quick to respond to any and all of my questions. Payment was easy. Directions on finding the place were exact. Apartment is in a great safe/quiet/clean area 2 blocks from Rue Mouffetard and close to the Metro.
The apartment was clean, Fresh linens/towels were provided. I was nervous about the other reviews of the bathroom, but the toilet is in one area and the sink/shower is in the other, enough room. Pictures are accurate. Directions for those not familiar with European things, everything from the internet (fast) to the tv/trash/ etc. Travel booklets are in the side table. Everything you would need to cook (even though we chose to eat out) Couldn't have asked for a better stay. My husband is used to American standards of living and he was very pleased. Would not hesitate to book with Parisdisiac or this apartment again.
My only tip would be if you are arriving at night like we did the corridors are dark. There are light switches on the walls that look like doorbells (round buttons) They are off at night and timed when you hit the switch. Enjoy! Paris is beautiful!!

Great apartment!

Always being a little apprehensive about booking apartments online I must say this one worked out very well!

The owners were really quick at responding to emails and very very helpful. The apartment is also in a very good location and the subway, supermarket etc are all only a couple of minutes away. The apartment is nice inside and as nice as the pictures in the advertisement make it out to be.

There are a couple of bad points worth mentioning, however most of them would be true of many city apartments. Firstly, the toilet is very very small, no bigger than a cupboard. Secondly, if 5 people stay in the apartment there may not be enough hot water for all 5 to shower in a row (however that may be true in many places).

Overall I would recommend the apartment. Thanks for a great stay.

Great stay at a great apartment!

I spent a weekend in November in the apartment with a friend and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The place was clean and there was MORE than enough room for the two of us. It was a little cold even with the heat at night, but there were more than enough blankets provided to right this. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes etc and you could definitely make use of the kitchen, though we chose to eat out. There are lots of little restaurants and some bars close by (on Rue Mouffetard) and quite a good Italian place called La Comedia up the street. The apartment is in a charming little building (the front door to the apartment can be a little tricky, but once you get it figured out once, you'll be good) in a perfect location; myself and my friend are both in our early twenties and we found the location to be better than we could have imagined. The metro is a two minute walk and if you don't feel like taking it, it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Pantheon and you can get to Notre Dame in about 20. Make sure you troll around the market on Rue Mouffetard. There are a couple of grocery stores in the area, which is very convenient as well. The area is quiet at night, so the place would be fine for a family or a group not interested in going out; but if you are interested in doing so, there are places very close by to do so. The bathroom is incredibly small however, so a larger individual would have immense trouble in that regard. Also, there is no lift in the building and the stairs are quite steep and narrow, so if this is a problem then the apartment would not be suitable for you. The owner left out some maps and a few guides to Paris, which was very kind. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at Claude Bernard and would recommend it/stay there again!

Totally recommended

I have just come back from one week spent in Paris, in this great apartment. It was clean, well equipped, really well located: close to the "Metro" station, restaurants, cafés, markets, laundries (in short: it is quite easy to find any kind of shopping or services that one may need near the apartment).
As far as I am concerned, the photos reflect the actual apartment and all the instructions and information we received from the owner (e-mails are answered quickly) were quite detailed and precise. In other words, we knew what we were getting (pros and cons).
My friends and I had a really good experience; and would definetely rent it again and recommend to other people.
Thank you!

Good Location, But Lacking....

Submitted: October 28, 2010 Stayed: October 2010
The apt is in a good location in the Latin Quarter, only a few blocks from the Metro and the wonderful Rue Mouffetard, and located upstairs from a cute little bar/bistro. But the apartment was lacking a bit. No bar of soap in the bathroom, no hair dryer as promised (when it is freezing and raining, this is really an issue), internet that doesn't work 90% of the time, limited television and no offer of DVDs for the player. The apt has furniture but no amenities, not one book to read or movie to watch. The toilet area is comically small and the bedroom is smaller than the picture would present. In fact if you have the side table next to the bed as shown, you cannot open the door at all. And while the owner asks that you be quiet and respect the neighbors, the neighbors do no such thing. We were kept awake every single nite by the neighbors. Parties on a Monday night, loud music, paper thin walls so you could hear everything. One more important tip - the door is very very very difficult to open when all deadbolts are in place. Took us 10 panicked minutes to figure it out. Consequently we never used the deadbolt unless inside sleeping.
Owner's Response: The answers to the questions above:

We rent an apartment which is large, confortable and with a very reasonable price compared to the value you may get at a hotel room.

Thee is a hair dryer in the apartment, it must have been put in some closet and our guests didn't find it. In any case we always are happy to help if we hear about any problems. Our phone number is on the contract and in different mails that we send to our guests. We always are available.

No one lives in this apartment, so there are no books, or DVDs, and then who needs all those when all of Paris is waiting to be visited :)

The apartment doesn't have it's own internet line, as we advise on our first mail, our guests can use the freewifi network with an identifier and a password, not only while in the apartment but anywhere in Paris.

The bedroom is about 11m² which is a reasonable size for a parisian apartment.

From the outside: The door is not hard to open, only you have to pull it to yourself while turning the key in the lock. From the inside: There is a round button to push to the right to open the door, this is something common in France but may not be known in other countries. We had some guests that were using the key to open the door from the inside, and it is in fact very very very difficult, again, if we had heard of this we would have explained. I think, we will put a paper explaining how to open the door.

The last point about the noise of the neighbours. It is our duty to advise our guests to be quite and point out that the apartment is not a hotel room where everyone is on vacation, so we do that. Unfortunately, we can not control the noises the neighbours make, as you can read in the review before other guests didn't have any noise problem. These guests stayed at the apartment only 3nights.

We can not stress enough that we are ready to make things right if ever any of our guests encounter problems, but we are totally helpless if we are not advised. Call us :)
Thanks
Anne & Ani
