Photos and Description of the Orte vacation cottage rental

Casale Piantata” is located in the Lucignano Valley, a protected area along the course of the river Tiber. It is 7 km from Orte, near the remains of the ancient river port of Seripola and the lake Vadimone, today dried up, where the Romans defeated the Etruscans in 309 and 283 B.C.

The 300 mq country house was built in the 18th century and is surroundered by about five thousand sqare miters of luxuriant land-garden, with barbecue, swimming pool 6x12 mt in esclusive use for the guests, wisteria pergola, and a locust-tree thichet. Oper car parks under the shade of tree. Casale Piantata is a two floor stone buiding, with a balcony and a pergola. The interior has wooden and ancient terracotta-tiled floors, ceiling beam showing and the flat tiles, rustic and antique forniture.

19 beds located in 6 indipendent bedrooms, each with private bathroom. It's possible to add beds for children on request (0/4 years).

Orte it's a very picturesque small village in provincial central Italy. Ancient inhabitants understood the strategic importance of the tuf rock flanked on one side by che river Tiber, and settled the original nucleus of the village on its top. Famous archeological sites (Tarquinia, Vulci, Ferento) and varieties of urban sceneries of historical, artistic and lolkloristic interest (Viterbo, Tuscania, Civita Castellana, Bomarzo, Caprarola, Orvieto, Todi, Narni, Spoleto, the Marmore Falls) fill the immediate surroundings of the village.The Lake of Bolsena, Vico, Trasimeno, bring relief in the long and sunny summer days. All the above mentioned sites ( and many more in Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria) can be reached rapidly (30/60 minutes) through the road and by train. A paradise inthe middle of Italy!

We stayed one week at this marvelous place. The location is excellent, near to all the attractions of Lazio and Umbria. The owners are wonderful people; help with everything needed with super-warm hospitality. The house is clean, the kitchen is fully equipped and you have all you need for your vacation in the house. The swimming pool is large and clean. The photos do not describe the real beauty of the place, ask the owners and they will send you more photos. We also took a guide for the tours: Ms. Grazia, who brought to life the history, geography and religious background of this marvelous area in Italy (+39340715030). In summary, don't even think of another place! We will definitely be back!
