Envision yourself driving through a private neighborhood within the Fig Garden area, and once you arrive at your destination, you are greeted by two rustic garden gates that leads to a private front courtyard with a pavered, landscaped pathway to The Garden House. Whether you are on a weekly business trip, seeing family or planning a vacation around the fantastic 3 National Parks or lake regions near Fresno, The Garden House is a perfect place for you to relax and spend private time. The Garden House is a large (approximately 800 square feet), cozy studio apartment decorated in a beach motiff, which includes: bedroom/sitting area with king size bed, full bath & shower, fully equipped kithcen (stove/oven, microwave, full size refrigerator & complete set of cooking utensils). The family room area is fully equipted with 47' large screen HDTV, BluRay player and new sleeper sofa with oversized chair. The Garden House is detached from the main house to provide complete privacy, and includes the use of one of the enclosed garage spaces.
Looking out through the two large windows to the rear yard, you will see a canopy of mature trees and lawn area bordering.
Oh by the way, if you have a pooch, we are dog friendly.
Also, do not forget for your security of both your auto and personal items, The Garden House comes with the use of one bay in the garage with automatic door.
Hi! My name is Deni, and I am the owner of this beautiful home in Fresno, California. The Garden House is a separate building on a 1/2 acre lot. This is a custom designed home by a famous architect, Cliff May, who designed the original California Ranch House. I spend my days painting in my on-site studio, as well as riding and exercising my horse, Skyy. Most days you will find me working in my garden. Everyone that has stayed in the Garden House has considered it a second home and me a lifelong friend.
Deni Argain purchased this studio in 2012
This beautiful California Ranch House sits on a half acre lot full of trees and gardens. My guests have a private courtyard, complete with comfortable outdoor furniture and barbecue. My home is a separate structure which gives you total privacy. The garden house has a two car garage attached to it, and is used by my guests. This month I added a new stackable washer and dryer for your convenience. The neighborhood I live in is called Fig Garden, and the shopping village is nearby with a lot of great stores, both local boutiques as well as the mainstays like The Gap, Chico's, Coldwater Creek and Eddie Bauer. There are a couple of dog parks nearby, for those of you traveling with pets.
The Garden House is not only cozy, but very private. When you stay at a major brand hotel, you are staying in my opinion, at a very sterile and commercial environment. When you stay at The Garden House, you can relax like you are at your home, but without all of the constant distractions. So imagine getting out of your car and entering the large two gates into the private front courtyard, which is surrounded with a canopy of tall mature trees, making your way to your private getaway, The Garden House. As soon as you hit the gate, you know YOU ARRIVED AT A SPECIAL PLACE!!!
Deni is a gracious host with a quaint Garden House. It is nicely decorated & we'll equipped , a great patio and lavish greenery with awesome tall trees that surround her 1/2 acre that we easily recognized when returning from running errands. Our son & family live in Fresno. We have made many trips to Fresno but our son's guest room is now a nursery. We stayed 2 weeks & was our best trip ever. We are already making plans for our next trip & will definitely be going back to The Garden House. 5 Stars for Deni & her beautiful home. ..
My husband and I stayed in Deni's fantastic garden house when we were in Fresno visiting family. Deni was so friendly and accommodating -- she welcomed us (and our puppy) like we were lifelong friends. The property is spotlessly clean, well decorated, spacious, and comfortable. The location is ideal, too; it's not too far from Fig Garden shopping and for anyone traveling with a dog, it's a pleasant neighborhood for a walk. And it's so quiet! We were able to relax and sleep in. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we visit family in the area.
I stayed for a couple weeks after my son and his wife in Fresno had twins. It was the perfect spot for me to unwind after a busy day of helping them. The bed is very comfortable and the studio efficient as well as attractive. It was great. Now that I've discovered this place we will be booking it often on our return trips to see our family. Great hospitality too from Deni and the housekeeper Jaqueline. They now feel like friends.
What a fantastic home! It's like a little French villa has been dropped in Fresno! We loved the spacious studio and slept four comfortably (we brought an air mattress for the fourth person). Plenty of space! Thanks!!
Above and beyond! I found Deni and her amazing hideaway rental while planning our 40th anniversary celebration vacation and I'm sure glad I did. Everything was perfect and better than expected. The location in a lovely quiet, convenient neighborhood was ideal. The studio apartment was very tastefully decorated by Deni's artwork which added such interest and reflected her passion to detail and color. The added bonus of being within walking distance to quite a few good restaurants was a welcome surprise not to mention other amenities such as the garage with washer and dryer for which we were very grateful. We felt right at home and loved every minute of our stay. Would we come back again? You bet. The only thing lacking was only being able to talk to Deni on the phone and not being able to meet her personally as she was in Paris auditing an art class at a local university during our stay. She shared with me as we chatted on the phone that one of her greatest joys is meeting new people when they visit. I sure would have liked to have met her! Maybe next time. Our visit here was icing on our anniversary celebration cake. Thanks Deni.
Hope you enjoyed Paris,
Mike and Marilyn R.
Came to Fresno for a wedding and we wanted something other than a standard hotel room. What a wonderful surprise. This guest house is very charming and the decor reflects that fact that the landlord is an artist. It is very comfortable in a very relaxing environment - large and roomy, clean and modern, mature landscaping, inviting patio and a private garage. The quiet neighborhood was perfect for relaxing walks in the mornings. We spent 4 nights there, but could easily have spent a couple of weeks.
We also had the opportunity to spend some time with the owner (Deni) and she is a very inviting, charming and accommodating person. She made us feel welcome and was very helpful in making our trip special. The guest house is a reflection of her strong desire to make this place a unique experience for a traveler.
We will be making regular trips to Fresno in the future and this will always be our first choice for a place to stay.
The Garden House is nestled in an established residential area of Fig Garden in Northwest Fresno, and is a fantastic launching pad to day trips to Yosemite National Park, Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park. In addition, there are fantastic lakes nearby such as Bass Lake, Huntingtion Lake, Shaver Lake or Millerton Lake for boating, sailing, skiing and/or fishing.
Or if you would like to explore the Central California coastal communities of Morro Bay, Carmel/Monterrey, Pismo Beach or Cayucos they are just a short 2 hour drive away. On your way to the Central Coast, tour the wine cellars surrounding Paso Robles.
Also Fresno is home to the Fresno State Bulldogs and its successful baseball, basketball and football programs at the highest NCAA level. Or if you want to play a round of golf their are over 10 golf courses within a half hour drive or less, with the challenging Fig Garden Golf Course only 5 minutes away that is open to the public.
