Beautifully restored rustic farmhouse in an idyllic setting

The surrounding area: Nestling in the charming Saline Valley Nature Reserve, Casa Serena is the perfect base for country walks and spotting the local wildlife including roe deer, pine martens, porcupines, buzzards and the very rare golden oriole. One of Penna San Giovanni's best restaurants is a pleasant 15 minutes walk from the house. Penna San Giovanni, has two grocery stores (Coal on the main street is run by Luciana and Mauro who speak a little English), two bars/cafes (one with a pizzeria in the basement serving the best pizzas for miles), several restaurants in the vicinity, an open air bar and pizzeria which operates in June, July and August and is situated above the lovely children’s playground, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy, a tobacconist (run by Umberto and Paolo who speak excellent English), a doctor's surgery, a hairdresser, a barber and a petrol station (sometimes run by Monia and Luca who both speak some English).

Child friendly: Casa Serena is suitable for children though younger children should be supervised at all times as the gardens and pool are open areas. Casa Serena is fully equipped for babies and toddlers, we have 2 cots, cot linen, baby monitor, night light, high chair, steriliser, changing mat, potty, toilet seat, plastic step, bouncy chair, play mat, toys and books, car-seats, pram with carry-cot and seat, plastic cups, plates and cutlery.

The owner and website: A small self contained apartment adjoins the main house and is occupied by the owner Jenny, who can be discreetly at hand if required to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, as well as regularly cleaning the pool and (very early morning) watering of plants and garden.
