Updated Studio Condo as close as you can get to the ocean without getting wet!

This studio condo features a full, unobstructed ocean and reef view. It has the best studio layout with a roomy feeling and all of the comforts of home and more plus A/C!

All new furnishings and appliances.

New king bed with new linens and blankets.

New AC and fans.

Private (not shared) secured internet.

Plenty of dishes and cookware to enjoy a relaxing meal at home.

New 40 gallon water heater - no need to wait for the water to heat up (some condos use insta-hot).

New pull out couch bed for those friends who just won't leave!

Due to the lack of elevator at Kona Magic Sands, the unit is not wheelchair accessible.

Boogie boards, beach gear, binoculars, and towels to make it easy for you to have fun on your vacation. We fully stocked and maintain this condo since we love to vacation here personally.

Vacations are precious, don't settle for less go with the best (top floor, A/C) and save (time and money, go to the beach next door and BBQ right out front while you lounge at the pool).

Professionally managed, maintained and cleaned- just read our reviews we love this condo and it shows! We have been told so many times when guests stay in our condos that they just feel like they are home and they are so comfortable - come share the feeling. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Location:

Conveniently located directly next to Magic Sands Beach as pictured (so convenient not needing to find parking). On the other side of this small complex, there is a palm tree studded park where the hula girls practice. Only a couple miles to downtown Kona (walk if you like or jog). There is also a trolley that stops right outside and loops around the downtown (about 2 miles away) and the grocery (about two miles the other direction) which is great because you can get away without having a rental car or catching the happy hours and not worrying about driving back. 

Kona is our favorite city in Hawaii with just enough tourism to allow for a great selection of things to do and places to eat and few enough tourists to not feel like... well... feel like tourists. If it is your first visit to Hawaii, Kona is the best place to stay in our opinion, which is why we first decided to buy a condo here.

About Kona Magic Sands Condos:

Kona Magic Sands is well a maintained, small, 3 story condo complex with lawn and pool that sits directly between KMS Beach and a park. It is unique amongst some of the condos in Kona since it sits directly facing the ocean and some other condos put the guest rooms at an angle to squeeze more rooms in with a “view.” Some of the recent upgrades to the condo complex include: new paint, the pool re-plastered with turtle mosaic, new second bbq, landscape maintenance as well as frequent deep cleanings. There is a fantastic and helpful on site Manager, Lori, that takes care of many aspects of the condo and is kind to help with directions or other local questions. There is plenty of seating at the pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as two complimentary BBQs. But one of our favorite parts of KMS is that there never seems to be a crowd! There is also trolley that stops right outside of the condo that will take you to the grocery plaza and also loops to downtown Kona a couple of miles away.

Great location. Love falling to sleep listening g to the crashing waves then waking to them in the morning. Wonderful beach right next door. We will be back.

Nice location

The location is the #1 seller for this condo. Right by the beach so you can always easily head back for a clean shower or extra supplies. Also well positioned in driving distance terms to popular places on the Kona side. The waves are a little loud but well, how often do you get to live *this* close by the ocean - I take it as a "feature" than an "annoyance". Unit is clean and well equipped with handy beach equipment. I'd probably recommend the place for 2 people more so than 3. the real bed is comfy but the sofa bed can be tough on your back if your stay is long. The owners respond promptly to questions and they also put a nice personal touch by mailing me a thank you letter to my home.

Great Ocean Front Condo

We stayed at Magic Sands unit 308 in early April and enjoyed our stay very much. It has a well equipped kitchen and there are chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment and boogie boards at the unit which we appreciated. Although the unit is by a fairly busy road, the waves cover any traffic noise. The unit is well furnished and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed being able to watch the fish, turtles and dolphins from the table near the window. The wave action at Magic Sands beach was a bit strong for us so we snorkelled at other beaches.

You CAN'T Get Any Closer!

This condo is exactly as advertised and is truly as close as you can get to the ocean. There happened to be really high winds and surf during our stay, and we could lay in bed and watch the waves coming in. The condo is very well equipped, with extra linens, kitchen equipment (including Henckles knives), beach gear, etc. The pool is quite nice and is a great place to lounge during the day. There are laundry facilities on the premises and a reserved parking spot. There were no complications gaining access to the condo and the other residents were quite friendly. The condo is well-located and is close to everything. The condo is on the third floor and there is no elevator in the building. This may not be the place for those with any physical limitations; otherwise I'd recommend this unit to anyone.

Awesome ocean side studio

We come to Kona every January and like to experience different locations. This was our first stay at Kona Magic Sands. This is now where we will stay from now on! We loved the intimate setting as the facility only has about

40 units. Nice Pool and lawn area to place your lounge chairs to whale, spinner dolphin, wave and sunset watch.

Our unit, #308, was very clean and well equipped. The owners are super nice and very easy to work with. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and plenty of towels, etc. Extremely convenient location as well. Nice park right next door too.

Magical Sands

The positives of our stay was that the condo was clean, quiet, had a great sunset view, and could not be closer to the ocean. We could even see fish and turtles swimming through the waves! Most all amenities were in the condo, kitchen supplies, toiletries, cable tv, beach gear, towels, which was very helpful since we brought our 2 children.

The negatives were that the magic sands beach, had nearly no sand when we were there. The beach had been washed out and so we had to go elsewhere for the beach experience. Since, the beach was a large reason for our decision to stay at this location, the children and I were a bit disappointed. Although we do recognize that this had nothing to do with the condo or the owners. Secondly, there is no elevator and the condo is on the third floor. We had a lot of luggage so this was bit of an issue. Fortunately, I am healthy and I could carry most of our luggage, however, if someone is a bit frail, it could be an issue.

Overall, if Kailua Kona is what you are interested in, I would recommend this place. It is conveniently located to the touristy area of Alii Drive.

Ocean front on Alii Dr. right next to Magic Sands Beach (great snorkeling and boogie boarding) and the other side is a park were the hula girls sometimes practice. The trolly stops directly across the street to take you downtown for fun, happy hour or around the way for groceries. So many things nearby, Kona is a perfect vacation location.
